I must say that I have A LOT of PC stuff. A LOT!!!! I truly love the stuff. Anyhow, with it being right before Christmas I didn't have a lot to spend, so I ended up getting the new spice carousel. But I think I fell in love with the rice cooker (I think it's a 3qt one). Thing is....we don't eat rice here (well, I do but I like the minute rice) Anyways, she was talking about all the other things you could do with it, like make lava cakes and also mashed potatoes. This is the thing that sold me. She said to cut up your potatoes as usual, put them in the rice cooker, put it your milk, butter, seasonings and put in microwave for 9 minutes and PRESTO.....mash 'em up and your good to go.

I'm just wondering if anyone of you have this product and have made your potatoes this way? Pros/Cons?

Also, she was demonstrating the cranberry colored stoneware rectangluar baker thingie (I'm sure that's the real name of it too, LOL) and she said that she cooks a whole chicken in it IN THE MICROWAVE????? Never heard of cooking anything really in the microwave. I've always used it for defrosting, heating up, etc but never cooking. Have you ever done this either?

Not heard of that but i have a spatula from them that opens beer bottles

And I have a sandwhich cutter which turns a plain on peanut butter and jelly sandwich into an uncrustable. I know, I could have just cut off the crust but DS11 likes to cut them into circles.

I LOVE Pampered Chef stuff! I really like their cookie dough scooper. (It might technically be a melon baller, but I use it for cookie dough!) It's awesome!

A co-worker went to a party recently and her demonstrator gave the same demo about the stoneware. I was shocked by the thought of chicken being cooked in the microwave and it actually not tasting like rubber. She said it was really tasty.

I think I need this. We eat a LOT of mashed potatoes :thumbsup2

I need the small bar sized spatula thing. Mine disappeared and I miss it.

I just looked online, I didn't realize it was a microwave deal-even better. I wonder if you can make the mashed potatoes in the microwave cookers? I have those and have never used them.

Oh, now this has me thinking!!! I have the larger of the two microwave cookers. That would be great if we could use these in place of the rice cooker!!! That way, I wouldn't have to shell out $25 for another pan. I'm going to look for her email address and ask her. I'll let you know when she gets back to me!!!

I cook chicken in the microwave all the time. It's never rubbery.

I don't have anything by Pampered Chef.

It crimps the edges nice and pretty too! ;)
I just received a new mix-n-scraper this week. Mine was 13 years old, I actually took a side by side picture of the new and old before we gave the old one a decent burial.

I have all three of those. I use the middle one to make meatballs.

Pampers chef is the macguyver of cookware. Haven't been able to get much from them but love what we do have. The thing for cooking ground meat is my favorite :)

I have all three of these too. They are just too versatile!!! I also use mine for meatballs. I will also use the larger one to scoop out just enough batter to put in a cupcake/muffin pan (the little one will scoop out just enough for the mini cupcake/muffin pan too)

Can I ask how you make chicken in the microwave? Which "cookware" do you use? What type of recipe do you use? I've just never done it and really thought it would be tough, no?

I love all of my Pampered Chef stuff, except the cookie press. I bought it 2 years ago and used it for the first time last weekend. It was terrible. I followed their dough recipe, but the dough wouldn't release from the machine when I lifted off of the tray. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? I looked at their site and I see they have changed their machine. It no longer has the squeeze lever. Anyone know what their return/exchange policy is?

i can't imagine cooking meat in the microwave :scared1:
i had pork chops that my aunt cooked in the micro once and i'm NEVER trying micro'd meat again!
even when i try to thaw meat in the micro it smells gross and looks nasty if it's in too long and starts to cook the edges....

I make mashed potatoes in the batter bowl, with lid. They are good. I love my baker! Yes I make chicken in it, in the microwave. I used it this week to cook a roast in the oven in less time than it would take in my normal pan.

I always make mashed potatoes in the microwave. I just put cut up potatoes in a microwave safe bowl, add a little water, stretch plastic wrap over the top and cook about 8 minutes. Add milk, butter, salt and mash. No special equipment needed!

I was just at a party Fri night and the rep made pasta in the microwave in the cranberry colored stoneware baker with lid...she put in the pasta, tomatoes, garlic, white wine and chicken broth all in the stoneware, cooked it 15mins and it was done....perfectly..not overdone or underdone!

I might have to get one....eventually!

I'll have to try it. How small do you cut up your potatoes? In quarters or smaller? Do you use idaho? white? yukon gold? What's your favorite type of tater to use?

Cool, I will have to try this too. Thanks!
