So I just got back from a Pampered Chef party....

I was just at a party Fri night and the rep made pasta in the microwave in the cranberry colored stoneware baker with lid...she put in the pasta, tomatoes, garlic, white wine and chicken broth all in the stoneware, cooked it 15mins and it was done....perfectly..not overdone or underdone!

I might have to get one....eventually!

Oooooo, that sounds good and nice and quick. I already asked dh for a pampered chef gift certificate so maybe I'll get stoneware baker instead of the bar pans I want.

I have one of these. Love it but the only thing I have used it for is to make a cake in the microwave - yes a cake - and it is to die for... Make a box cake per the insructions and put it in the pan. Then take a can of frosting and add 6 large spoonfuls around the cake batter. Put it in the mrcrowave with the lid on, cook for 10 - 12 minutes at full power. Let it sit for a short time and you hvae a delicious cake - Usually do chocolate with cholate frosting and it tastes like a hot molton cake... :cool1:

I know I need to try it for chicken etc and it can be used in the oven too..

OP here. Yeah, this is what the demonstrator was talking about with the rice cooker. She said to put the cake batter in it, then spoon some frosting into it into a few spots. Then when it's done it's like a molten cake. I almost bought it for that and the mashed potato trick!!! But of course, being two weeks before Christmas, funds were a bit low. Next party though I think I'll get that rice cooker and the rectangle baker.:thumbsup2

I always make mashed potatoes in the microwave. I just put cut up potatoes in a microwave safe bowl, add a little water, stretch plastic wrap over the top and cook about 8 minutes. Add milk, butter, salt and mash. No special equipment needed!

Exactly. I am sorry but Pampered chef seems to imply that you can't do certain things without their equipment. Most of what they have can be purchased for a lot less money and in my experience is just as good as Pampered Chef. My DH calls Pampered Chef a cult. Says it does something to normal women that makes them buy useless product. lol

I must be a cult leader because I am a PC consultants..lol :hippie:

I have cooked a chicken in the Deep Covered baker...Super easy and so yummy. I also use mine for the lava cake but make it more in the rice cooker. You can also make the lava cake in the batter bowl. The other uses for the DCB are loaded potato chowder in the micro or the Tortilini Toss, it also makes yummy chili....they have a cookbook which the can send to our customers who buy the DCB.. Its so yummy...if anyone has any questions just let me know....

remember you can still order from your PC consultanttill Dec 16 to get it for Christmas...

I also just went to a PC party on Friday night. Our consultant used the cranberry rectangle dish, put in two pounds of plain chicken and stuck it in the microwave (with the lid on) for 11 mins. Took it out and it was totally cooked, added some bbq sauce and diced it up with another utensil and made pulled chicken bbq sandwiches. All in 13 mins and it was delish!! So very tender and juicy. I bought that dang dish for $85 based on that demostration alone!

I also bought the rice cooker (DD loves rice) and the spice rack. I was very tempted to buy the stock pot, but I couldn't justify the price. I love their stuff- just wish it was a little less expensive.

Did you find out, can you use the large vegetable steamer to make mashed potatoes in? Just wondering.

I too love PC.

I love all of my Pampered Chef stuff, except the cookie press. I bought it 2 years ago and used it for the first time last weekend. It was terrible. I followed their dough recipe, but the dough wouldn't release from the machine when I lifted off of the tray. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? I looked at their site and I see they have changed their machine. It no longer has the squeeze lever. Anyone know what their return/exchange policy is?

I had the same problem. You need to make sure that all the air is out and then try it.. make sure your dough isnt cold or too warm because it wont work..I played it with for a while until I figured out how many clicks it took...

sorry, I was quoting the post above here where someone hubby called Pampered Chef a cult.. I was just teasing say I must be a "cult leader" since I am a consultant...:cool1:

I emailed the demo from the other night and she said that you couldn't. Not sure why....but that's the answer she gave me.
