Remember, what goes up, must come down.

we have a lot of armadillos where I live and Ive seen dead ones in the road but never on my property, although I have seen whole families of them in my yard. The leprosy aspect kinda freak me out, be careful!!
You're not worried about the possibility of leprosy?

I was shocked at the number of dead armadillos we saw on the highway when we drove from Rolla to St. Louis. It was just crazy. I started counting but had to give up. Not worth the effort.
just be thankful that an armadillo is light weight enuf to be able to give the old heave ho to. try dealing with a full grown deer (and no near by woods to speak of).
we woke up one morning to find one dead on the side of the house (not a mark on it-honestly looked like it had just died and tipped over). called every agency and group known to man to find out what to do with it. none would come on private property so we were told to "just take it to the closest county road and just dump it, then call us for pick-up"um, NO-the closest county road to us is over 2 miles away and where 2 separate school districts have their bus stops-I did not want busloads of small children coming home to the sight and smell of dead bambi so I called around and finally found an animal rendering plant that we could take it to and pay a fee to dispose of it.
"just dump it" really??? I'm sure the homeowner whose property that county road butted up to would have loved us to pieces for taking that suggestion.
Had a dead deer to dispose of many years back. Someone hit it & it flopped into my yard and died. Drug that one WAY behind the house. Coyotes cleaned it up in a few days. Left nothing but a couple tufts of hair.
Gumbo: as long as you didn't marry the thing and let it physically or mentally abuse and not want to leave, then you are good to go.
(clue: another thread going on right now).
