After much much much time pondering all posibilities....I have finally locked in our trip.
Ran it past DH last night and its been OK'd by the financial controller :wave2:
I did ask him to give me a run down on what He "thought" we were doing..here's a brief snippet...:rotfl2:

"we fly out on friday to LAX, then spend 5 days at San Diego or something, then red eye to Orlando where we spend a week at pop, then 10 days at bay lake then the cruise then a few nights at vero beach, then back to WDW, then to LA for a while............................."...Oh dear God :confused3

1. We fly out on a Thursday
2. We are not even going to San Diego, so i dont even want to guess where that one came from :faint:
3. he was correct about the red eye
4. only 2 nights at pop
5. only 7 nights BLT
6. yep the cruise is right
7. we are only calling in at vero beach to have a look
8. etc etc......

really how can I not mock him????:joker:

so the REAL itinerary is as follows:

SYD-LAX via Auckland Air new Zealand
  • 10 hrs layover LAX hotel
LAX -MCO via MSP
Pop century with DDP 2 nights
  • garden grill
  • liberty tree tavern
BLT 7 nights studio lake view
  • Epcot segway tour
  • MNSSHP
  • Animal kingdom by design tour
Freedom of the seas 7 nights, Junior suite
  • DH doing a Padi course
BLT 3 nights DDP
  • 50's prime time
  • Le cellier (Lunch)
  • Coral reef
MCO-LAX
5 nights Renaissance LAX
  • including 1 night luxor Las Vegas as its cheaper to keep our room at LAX than to pay excess baggage to vegas and back:confused3
LAX-SYD via Auckland

let me know what you think :listen:

Sounds good, can I come? :thumbsup2:beach:

Sometimes I would love to be a DH and have someone else do all the organising and I just turn up and follow.!!!!:scratchin

My DH says "but I can lift heavy things!", so he does come in handy sometimes!!!:joker:

Looks great Karen.

What's a Padi course? I'm intrigued.

Animal Kingdom by design tour - hmmmm, this sounds kinda cool.

Renaissance LA - we stayed here in 2009 and thought the location was amazing. And the hotel was lovely, as was the pool.

Unbelievable about the excess luggage, that is truly mad.

Battymum - you know that you and I (and well everyone on the Dis) are too controlling to let someone else plan our trips :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Padi course is a scuba diving certification course..12hrs plus 2 open water dives

I did the AK tour in 2010, loved it, so interesting, so taking DH this time...well worth the effort

It would cost us $220 just in baggage fees to fly to Las vegas and back, and our room in LAX is $109...so cheaper that way, and we'll just take carry on for the 24 hrs...

That sounds great. We are going in September too. Flying from Melbourne to LA and staying 4 nights. Then flying to Orlando for our Caribbean cruise and then 5 nights at BWV and a further 8 at OKW.

LOVE LOVE LOVE America. Hope you have a great time

Karen, your trip sounds wonderful!!
I saw a show on Foxtel recently about the Disney Cruise line - looked absolutely wonderful. :thumbsup2
I wish I could persuade DH to do a cruise - he's very anti. Likes to keep his feet on solid ground .

Looking forward to reading more of your plans :)

:thumbsup2It looks great, but i think you missed your opportunity to add on a few days DH thought you were doing 7 at Pop and 10 at BLT it makes you wonder if they:listen: to us at all :rotfl2:

Sounds really good. You are lucky to be going back again a year later. Wish we could. :thumbsup2

It all looks great :goodvibes

The great thing about you being the planner is you get to do whatever you want ;)

Vegas is awesome, will you see a show or something while there? Definately worth it, the Cirque shows are amazing :thumbsup2

re luggage, we are flying delta economy, $25 for first bag, $35 for second (or visa versa)...we have 4 (all my shopping and his dive gear), so thats $110 one way :faint:

Re :cruising.......it's awesome, we hadn't done one before 2009, and now we have just booked our 5th ::yes::....I hate boats, but its so much different than what i expected.

If you dont know whether you'd like cruising, just do a 3 day cruise to start, then you wont be on-board too long if you hate it.And most 3 days have at least 2 port days, so you get to see more.

I too wonder whether DH listens :listen: to me or just smiles, nods and hands over the cash.....although now that i think about it..thats just the way I like it:cloud9:

I have seen cirque (Love) in Vegas before & loved it, but my DH has a tad of A.D.D. so wont enjoy sitting too long.........

oh and 20 weeks, 4 days to go...

so back to the gym again tommorow after 3 weeks not doing a thing :crowded:

Gym? What's that?

My DH has dropped 18kg, I need to get on that wagon ::yes:: love to lose some, those airline seats are not very forgiving...

We got your rain today LOL

ahh yes, the dreaded airline seat. ugh. like we don't hate our bodies enough the rest of the year, lets start a holiday feeling uncomfortable :)

australiankaren, i think your trip sounds wonderful. i can't wait to read your TR.

we're thinking of wdw next year in september, so would love to hear all about it :)

also...love the run down of what your DH thought you were doing versus what you are actually doing :)

i'd put my version up, but carlo is on here now and might take exception :) :) :)

really, if we cant mock our nearest and dearest, really, whats the point of having them??

:badpc::badpc::badpc::rolleyes1

Isn't that why we have them?

Mine is worse than me though, we don't even need to speak and know what the other is thinking (or not thinking as the case may be)

awwwww.

we argue and fight and have miscommunications about regular everyday stuff which i actually like cause i hate a yes-man, but when it comes to planning a trip, what i want and what he wants are pretty much exactly in sync. so awesome :)

sorry :offtopic:
