So I decided to come into work today

WELL, technically I shouldn't even be here. My director lets us make up time so I had been working over both last week and this week so I could be off on Christmas but not take any leave time since I just started. Well, the hospital changed the policy and if we work in the office for the hospital and we are non-essential, we HAVE to take Christmas day off as a holiday so I really could have been off today since I have all my time. BUT, my director asked me to come in for four hours today so I'm just sucking it up!!!!!

ONE MORE HOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, the good news is, I just got an email from DH. He finally found his car keys that he lost during Sunday's storm. They were lodged in a snow bank.

Here's a recipe to make sometime. This is my family tradition.

Cream Cheese Apricot Tarts

1 cup flour, sifted
1/8 tsp salt
1 stick butter (1/2 cup)
4 ounces cream cheese

Using a pastry cutter, or two knives, mix the above ingredients together to form a ball. Chill until firm.

Roll the dough to 1/8 inch thick and cut into an even number of circles. On half the circles, put a scant teaspoon of apricot preserves in the middle. Brush the edges with a beaten egg and put another circle on top. Seal with a fork. Brush the tops with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sugar.

Bake for 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees.

I work today too. I don't mind at all since Christmas Eve we usually don't do anything until night anyway.

DH was told he'd get this afternoon off paid (he's a contractor with a government site). Yesterday they told him not only did he not get a paid afternoon off today, he had to request this afternoon off and it was too late. He is one peeved guy. All of the regular workers got off at 11, so the contractors have to just sit there and wait since there's no work scheduled until Jan. 4th. At least he'll be off at 3, hopefully the drive home won't be too bad and he does get the next week off (unpaid).

Yeah, just got the email from Company president that we are done at 1! I won't get paid for 3 hours (not taking a lunch), but I kind of budgeted for that anyway and I have a ton of stuff to do!

I have 30 minutes left!!!! Nothing else to do at home so I get to relax for awhile. We are going to my sister's house for the afternoon and playing the Wii and exchanging gifts!

A quick stop for Cool Whip, then home to wrap, and wrap, and wrap.....
I even get to wrap all the presents my boyfriend bought, along with everything his son bought. I'll wrap everything while I watch 4 Christmases tonight.

My boyfrien and I will exchange stockings tonight, while kids are at their mother's, then we get all the fun tomorrow with his kids and grandkids all day long!
