And ended up with a $10 credit - (which then increased to a $20 credit) - in my Amazon "account" by the time I got done talking to them..(Neither of which I asked for..)
Prior to this whole "book" episode, I had ordered 2 three-packs of an OTC medication that I have to take daily or my life will be complete misery.. It's something I've been taking for a year and a half - solved my problems 100%..
On my last trip to the drug store, I grabbed the last 2 boxes on the shelf.. Got back here, opened the first box to take one and was surprised that it was now a capsule - rather than a tablet.. Went ahead and took it, and in 24 to 48 hours started having some serious problems.. At first I didn't make the connection, but the problem dragged on until I was down to the last pill.. That day DD was coming up with one of my scripts from the dr.'s office and called from the pharmacy to see if I needed anything else.. Checked to make sure I had a second box of the OTC and told her no.. Then for some reason, I flipped over the box from the capsules and compared it to the second unopened box (which turned out to be tablets) and guess what? All kinds of different active ingredients - (one had been increased 6 and a half times more than the tablet form); one active ingredient removed and replaced with something else; and a whole slew of "other" ingredients (food colorings; sweeteners; various other items) that also were not in the tablet form..
Called the manufacturer - yep - changed the ingredients (nothing on the box indicating that though - no "New and Improved Formula" - nothing).. Worse yet, I was told that they were no longer going to make this in tablet form - only the capsules and whatever tablets were left "out there" was the end of the road..
So I quick jumped on Amazon - found they had some of the tablets left and placed an order.. I had them shipped to DD's house though since I have enough of the tablets up here to last me until I go back there..
Well - guess what they sent? Yup - capsules!!
(I've been fine since I switched back over to the tablets..)
So I went online and requested a replacement - rather than a return - since I can't find the tablets anywhere else.. Everything was going smoothly until I got to the part where there was a bar code and something else that I was supposed to print out and put inside the box (when UPS picks it up at DD's tomorrow) so I won't get charged for the replacement (no shipping slip or anything else in the box), but obviously I'm here and the box is down there.. Found a section where I could plug in my phone number and they would call me back in 5 minutes.. (And by staying logged in, I could watch the minutes ticking down..)
Sure enough, phone rings in 5 minutes - and it's someone who can barely speak English..
He's asking me questions that I can't understand, I'm asking him questions that he can't understand, I ask for a supervisor, and he shouts something or another and hangs up on me!!!!!
Went through the whole process again - and this time I got a very, very pleasant woman (who speaks English).. We got thing whole thing straightened out with how the items can be shipped back (she made some kind of notation on her end so DD doesn't have to put any paperwork in the box); she straightened out the new order for the tablets; and told me that UPS would be bringing a label to DD's house tomorrow and all she has to do is stick it on the box and hand it back to him.. Very nice and very helpful..
However, I was still ticked off about that guy yelling at me - and hanging up on me - and I told her I would like it reported to a supervisor.. She was very, very apologetic - said that she would make a note of it - and due to my bad experience with this rep she was going to put a $10 credit in my account to be used the next time I made a purchase..
At that point I told her that I didn't know that I would be placing additional orders with them due to this "book" scenario and again, she was very, very apologetic - said their goal was to provide excellent customer service - and was increasing the credit in my account to $20.. I told her it wasn't necessary - because I really hadn't made up my mind if I was going to continue to order from them and she said that "just in case", the $20credit is there and she hopes that I'll reconsider doing business with them..
She was so pleasant, I really didn't know what to say or do, so I just thanked her for being so helpful in straightening out my order, told her to have a nice day, and hung up..
So - here I sit with a $20 credit for a company I'm not sure how I feel about..
At this point, the only real goal I have is to get my hands on that 6-month supply of tablets before they disappear!!!
