So how spoiled are you.

Oh so spoiled! And kids are too. We own a couple Marriotts and at 2 DVC resorts. I remember traveling to Atlantis with our kids and we stayed in the Royal Towers. That meant 2 queen sized beds. Our boys were appalled that they had to sleep in the same bed and insisted we roll up the bedspread and put it under the covers between them so they wouldn't be touching each other. After that, it was only suites for us in hotels until they both left for college.

I travel a lot for work, and I’m OK with just a regular hotel room for 1 to 3 nights. But, when I’m on vacation I want more room in which to relax. Also, my husband and I are complete opposites when it comes to staying up late and getting up early. The ability to close the door of the bedroom at 10 o’clock at night allows us to have some space that we need. I don’t think DVC spoiled us; it simply fits us a whole lot better than a regular hotel room for our vacations. We spend a lot on vacations (Disney or otherwise) and the vacations are very much needed. If you can’t relax and rest on vacation, is it a vacation? Is it doing what you need it to do for you? Additionally, We can guarantee that we will get a king size bed, and that is really important!

Yeah, I"m spoiled for sure. We just got back from a Williamsburg trip, and stayed in spring hill suites....nope. Even though larger than regular rooms, that layout is just not enough for true comfort for us if staying several days. We had decided it would cost too much to stay just across the parking lot at Residence Inn, but I think on future multi-day trips, we're going to have budget for that. Miss having a kitchen, and separate room for sure. We have a regular room booked at Universal's Royal Pacific in Oct....Love RPH, but I'm already dreading that close of quarters for 3 nights.....might try and change one night to one of the suites at the new hotel.
We always stay 1 bedroom or larger DVC., except for the couple of times we've stayed at Poly. I was convinced to buy DVC for 1/2 bedroom options, and that's what we prefer. Just wish we could have that everywhere.....
For the next Williamsburg trip try the timeshares all around there. 2 bedroom options all over on BnB sites. I feel your universal pain. Don’t want the tiny room but still want the express pass.

1 bedroom, space and balcony. You just become use (spoil) to it. For families, I cannot imagine just a standard hotel room, anymore.
I can make a few simple meals , so we save MUCH money , plus when we get hungry at any and all hrs, not a problem, room to find some personal space, plus I don't have to go home with a suitcase of dirty clothes! Is that spoiled, or practical? WE tried to sit down a figure out how much money we saved by only snacking at disney world, we were up to $300 bucks at end of day one and said, Nope, plus the food at disney is awful IMHO, so much fried,( we don't do McDonalds either) and unless your ready to sit down in a 60$ a person place, no thanks and who wants to do that for OK food? I'll snack on churros, and dole whip and save meals for back at our room.

Me, apparently I am. I'm up here in Mackinaw City( not on the island)and I can say I miss any 1 bedroom at All DVC Resorts.
Lack of SPACE, a kitchen, living room , washer&dryer😭. And My Balcony 😭😭😭 makes me appreciate my DVC more.
I'm planning a new trip to Disney as I sit on the bed (no other place to sit).
Sounds like a OKW studio - 2 beds, no sofa

We just got back from a quick weekend getaway with 2 kids - in a hotel room where got a $100-ish rate. Hotel was definitely worth more than that, as hotel rooms go, but 2 DOUBLE BEDS DO NOT CUT IT. I did not sleep well and told DH that if we were to do it again, we should each share with a kid, who takes up less room and doesn't make a dip in the mattress that I roll into.

Very! I have all my winter trips booked in 1 bedrooms and right now, all of them are solo trips!! I just can't chance someone asking to join and all I have is a studio! So, from now on, 1 bedrooms are the smallest I will book!

I’m with you. Once you get used to the kitchen and the washer/dryer, no going back…
