Schools are closed in Cobb County, Georgia today. The temps were only in the mid-20's overnight when we got a surprise snowshower. The problem was that we had daytime (and overnight!!!) temps in the 60's just a couple days ago, so the pavement was still quite warm. The snow melted upon hitting the surface, but then it froze, creating black ice! That's not something we handle very well here in Metro Atlanta.
It's <b><i>windy</i></b> here... the local news just reported that the airport has recorded gusts up to 43 mph!
Oh, yes, and we're expecting record lows tonight in the single digits!
