So how dressy is Citrico's

DSIL made all of the dining reservations. DH and I are following their lead this trip! We go to Disney often and they go once a year. So we are just following along. It is strange. I have been to Disney over 30 times and I find myself doing things I have never done! Soooo obviously I can't wear the shorts I wore in parks all day, right? A sundress? We are going this Saturday so I may need something after dark on my arms. DH will need dress pants? He won't be happy!

They also rented a cabana at the GF all day on Easter Sunday, no parks just relax by the pool!? It's unheard of in my family!! We are going to try it...we hope we don't like it we can't afford to do it for ourselves LOL!!!!

You should be fine in a sun dress, I definitely would not wear shorts.

I think your husband should wear pants, but I don't think they need to be suit pants. Just a nice shirt and khaki type pants maybe? I don't know what you call men's casual pants! :rotfl:

I've seen people wear all sorts of things to signatures. Right from jeans and t-shirts to dresses and suits. "Dressy" seems to have many meanings these days though. I usually wear capris and a blouse and my DH will wear kakhis and a golf shirt. We've never felt out of place with what we wear.

One time we were at Flying Fish and a young woman walked in with a tube top and very short cut off jean shorts. They hostess politely told her that she must wear a jacket or go back to her room and change.

Sorts, jeans, t-shirts are perfectly fine.

The dress code has only a very few "not permitted" items:

Cut-offs, swim wear and swim wear cover-ups,tank tops and hats on men, torn clothing, and t-shirts with "offensive" markings.

I wouldn't wear the shorts I had on all day in the parks to Citricos. :duck: (I blame my parents!)

In December, there were a lot of guests in park attire at Citrico's. Signatures allow jeans and shorts; no tank tops or cut-off shorts. Because my two adult DDs had worn shorts into the park because it was a very hot day, they chose not to change before dinner and were fine.

Well, I already feel like the ugly duckling walking next to DSIL in the parks. Even in casual shorts she looks sophisticated. She might be able to pull off Citrico's in park attire but I need to change!

As the PP said, you'll see the full range of clothes at any of the Disney Signatures. The only exception is V&A, which is very strict about the dress code. I've tend to change into a polo shirt and slacks, but I have worn a polo shirt and dress shorts to a Signature in the past and didn't feel out of place.

Other than Victoria & Albert's there are no "dressy" Disney restaurants. They won't let you in wearing a swimsuit, but other than that, you'll see pretty much everything at all of them.

We almost always shower and change into dressy clothes when we go to Signatures. Not because it is required, but because we enjoy it. But on our last trip, the MK was open late and we do not like the TS options there, so we escaped the park and went to Citricos. Knowing that we would not be able to do a full makeover before dinner, the girls brought a change of shoes, hair brushes, some makeup and different tops and we stored that all in a locker at the beginning of the day. When it was time for dinner, we retrieved the bag and the girls spent about 15 minutes in the ladies room outside of Citricos getting ready for dinner. We all had shorts on, but we all agreed to wear our "nicest" shorts that day, as if we were golfing at a nice country club. We fit right in. There were many people in the restaurant dressed more formally than us, but also many who were dressed more casually. A collared golf/tennis type shirt and golf shorts would put you in the middle of the road at Citricos.

I have a preppy style, so when I'm told there is a dress code, I eat it up (pun intended!)

Two years ago we booked Narcoossee's for Christmas dinner. I wore a dress shirt tucked in with khakis and a Christmas-themed bow tie. I felt a bit out of place when we walked in and saw people in jeans, shirts and T-Shirts.

The next year I went with a nice button-down shirt and casual khakis. I fit in much more and still met the requirements.

Other than V&A, the main goal of many of Disney's Signature restaurants is to avoid anyone showing up looking like Eddie from Christmas Vacation. Remember, Disney is all about the experience. When you book a signature, you want to feel like you're not just getting food for your money, but the "feel" and "allure" of the restaurant.

If you walked into Narcoossee's and there were people in mesh shorts or bathing suits and cut-off shirts, the only difference between a normal table service and the restaurant would be the food (and prices!)

I think shorts may be walking a fine line, but if they are neat dress shorts and it is a hot day, you could get away with it. Dress shorts with a nice top or polo would actually look far more dressy than jeans and a t-shirt. Go with your gut, but if you have any questions, call up Disney and check ahead of time!

You can wear shorts! They shouldn't be shorts you've worn all day at the parks. They should be professional/casual and a polo, or buttoned down ****. Same dress as Narcoossees. You'll see people wearing everything, including tee shirts, and they won't say a word.

When we ate there, there were very few people there in their park T-shirts and jean shorts. Most men were in nice shorts or khakis with a collared short sleeved shirt. Women tended to wear sundresses or skirt/capris/dressy shorts with blouse/tank and sweater. About a fourth of the people there were in quite dressy outfits with men in shirt and tie or sport coat.

I agree that I haven't seen many people in park attire at any of the signatures. I usually wear capris, blouse and strappy sandals. My DH usually wears tan cotton dress shorts (they pack easier!), a button down or polo and leather slip ons. We always change clothes before heading out to dinner.

1) Park-attire to semi-dressy is fine at Citricos.
2) Just no "mucsle-tees" or nasty lettering on shirts.
3) I usually wear shorts and the same for the wife.

Deleting as I missed the "on men" part of no tank tops. Shouldn't comment after pulling a grave shift....

Well-I eat at the Signatures (including Citricos) exclusively each and every trip and I can probably count on one hand the times I've seen a gentleman in a tie and coat.
