So how cool is the Boardwalk view?

When I bought into DVC a few years ago we decided on BWV due to the standard view rooms making our points go further. That, along with being able to book the BW view, seem to be the main selling points of that resort.

So I have a BW view booked this year for the first time. The thing is, I really like AKV and would like to try Kadani, or better yet, waitlist for BLT. However, it seems silly to cancel the ressie I made 11 months out, especially since it's during F&W.

So, just how awesome is this view? Any recommendations for room location? I have a studio booked.

For F&W I would keep the reservation and use it to decide if you like BW view as much as some others here. I had our first BW view, a studio, stay in November, and couldn't imagine what all the excitement was about. I'll stick with standard view at the BW from here on. However, I'm not ruling out a GV stay, someday.

For everyone to read I post this.

THE BOARDWALK VIEW ROOM IS A REALLY BAD VIEW, ESPECIALLY IN NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER.

That should lessen the competition. :thumbsup2

We had our first BW view exactly 4 weeks ago and we enjoyed it. It was great to see the fireworks at EPCOT at night, and watch the activity in the evening, but with sun coming up in the morning the balcony was very warm! We have had the canal view also which was nice. I think that any preferred/BW view would be nice.We have the opposite problem as far as reservations...we have BLT lake view for November, but the girls really want BWV and there's only one night available during our stay. So we are waitlisted for BWV.

It's all yours disneynutz,
I guess I'm the exception to the norm but I prefer the standard view. Only at OKW do I really spend and enjoy time on the balcony (drinks/dinner/breakfast). At AKV I may have coffee looking out onto the savanna but that's about it.

The BW view is very nice. I love to look out over the water!!!

I use my balcony all the time so I enjoy it very much!!! I llove to watch the boats come and go and the activities during the night. But the best part is that you get to time the boats arrival and departures. (we do that with our standard view rooms too with the buses)

But I have to say our favorite room so far was a view of the quiet pool. It was the last room nearest to the canal and it was very nice. We loved just walking out our patio door to use the community hall or pool and the main door to the outside was right there too!!!

It's this cool:

That was our studio on the top floor for our 15th wedding anniversary last August. It was magical

I think it is by far THE BEST view (before BLT) of all DVC units, well maybe not better than a Beach Cottage at VB ;),but as a previous poster said you need to USE IT to ENJOY IT!..

Personally, I prefer a view of the canal over a boardwalk view. My very favorite section of BWV is top floor facing canal (above the area where DVC offices used to be)right at the end of the building. The view of the canal, Tower of Terror(at night), Swan/Dolphin, and boats driving by is fantastic. It's a very long walk from the elevators, but, IMO it's the quietest section of BWV.....even though Jelly Rolls is right around the corner we've never heard any noise and have stayed in this section several times. The only thing I have noticed several times when walking that LONG hallway is the area above Big River Grille sometimes has the odor of food cooking....whether it's from the restaurant below or someone cooking in their villa....I don't know.....however, since I've noticed it more than once in the same section of hallway I tend to think it may be from the exhaust vents of Big River.

Love the boardwalk view! I used to book standard to save points but when the boardwalk view became guaranteed, I have not looked back!

Last week I stayed at AKV Kidani savannah view, that was awesome too!

We have owned at the BWV for 10 years and visit at a minimum twice a year. During all those visits we have had a standard view twice to save points ... and all I heard from DJ's DH and our DD is how much they missed their BW view.:confused3

We like the fifth floor, down by Jelly Rolls, Big River Grille and the DVC sales center for the view and believe it or not the sounds of the BW. We love watching IllumiNations and then Wishes from the comfort of our balcony with an adult beverage in hand:thumbsup2

We are big walkers to begin with so we don't mind the hike from the elevators ... especially with all we eat when we are in the World:lmao:

Very cool in my opinion! I'm in one right now. A little "far" from the elevators, actually as far away as one could be! Room 3001. :rotfl2:

But with the renovations going on I understand I'm lucky to have it. Someone told me on another post that they lost their "boardwalk view" request due to the renovations going on.

What makes this room great is the view. Being all the way down by the old models (Crest of the Wave) we are directly across from the "Golf Ball" in Epcot and what a view of Luminations we have!!!! Wonderful!!! We have a view of the entire boardwalk. It's nice in the evenings to have a glass of wine on the balcony and watch "the world" go by. But my favorite is in the mornings with coffee, before the sun gets too hot. You're facing East!! ;)

So personally, I love the view and I'll admit; I've gotten soiled. :) I would post some of the pic's we've taken, but for some reason with this laptop I can't seem to figure out how to do it. If anyone can tell me how to post the pics I'd appreciate it.

So when are you comming down??? :rotfl2:

It's totally cool, especially if you get a 5th floor room down towards Jellyrolls!
