So have you ever attended a "Dis-Meet"?

DH & I have been to the world several times, and we have yet to attend one..do these even still exist? I don't see any threads on this anymore....

I dont' know how often they have them in Orlando, but they do still have Dismeets in various locations across the country. I think the upcoming one is in New England? I think there's a subforuum here (located under the DisUnplugged forum) for information about the meets.

We had a "mini" Dismeet in 2013; small gathering of friends who play the Where In The World game on the Photo Thread. Awesome time getting to put faces to DisBoard names and meeting individuals we've "known" for a few years.

We have them at the campground for those of us on the camping forum. We usually find out which of us will be there at the same time and try to plan a get together. It is looking like we will be having a potentially pretty good sized one in October. Sometimes it's just a hello and a handshake, other times it's a meet and eat kinda thing. This past summer I actually met one Diser at Gulf State Park in Alabama and another one at a campground not far from home a few weeks later.

Yes I have, been to 5, posted date, time,where,. Attended by Moderators and WebMaster and other Disers. At all I had a great time. So check Dis Meets Board and see if anyone has one scheduled during your visit. If it works with your into your schedule, go for it. Or post your own plans for having one yourself.

quite often dismeets occur from friends who have never met in person before, but have become good friends through the dis. often through trip reports. we had about 20 of us at the poly beach to watchwishes one year maybe 2007? 2 families were staying at the same resort.. we were from all over the USA. and we have met up woth various people who will be there when we are. afte meeting our frineds thumper man and his wife at AK, we decided to do a DL trip together. and we met our frined Pkondz dfrom canada actually in Illinois, he and his daughter were driving through and Marie and her daughter drove over from IA to have chicago style pizza with us. many fols we
ve bet up with, can't name them all numerous meets.
and quite a few times we have been recognized by people who read Nebo's trip reports.. it's like "Hey! you're nebo!! can we get a picture?"' what fun!
