I am so pumped!!! I travel to Disney once a year and sometimes twice :) So, a Disney trip is not anything new. BUT what is new is that my dream has been to see the parks decorated with Christmas decor. We always go in March or summer so I have not yet seen this. I have also dreamt of just going one day with my Daughter ( I love my son and husband too but this is just something different...we are more easy going and care more about the parks at this point than they do) My DDs birthday is approaching and she will be 13 officially a teen!! So, we are headed to use our AP at Disney for the weekend (extending a few days) I am sooo super excited!! Now the only reason I am able to do this is that I found a super cheap flight!! and I already had APs which is a huge factor. Also, I got AP discount on rooms and splitting that with a friend who is also coming with her DD. (the flights were cheaper than taking the train up to TO for a weekend visit ...so I could NOT resist!!) The problem is....I worry about what I will hear from my sister and parents....about me going AGAIN !! So, I have kept it a secret!!! I have only said I am going away for "girls weekend" I wonder has anyone else ever felt the need to keep ANOTHER trip secret?? to avoid 'hearing it" from others who trouble to understand......

Yes, there are times we go and don't announce it to the world :goodvibes
I also have friends that just disappear for a few days and don't say where they go, but we know! Lol!

Have an awesome trip! Enjoy the holiday decorations, we have been at every time of year except for Christmas time. We'll do it one day! I love my girls' only trips with my DDs! My DD is 13 and we love our trips together!

Twice I have been put in a situation where I couldn't mention a Disney trip to another sibling. I have two older sisters and they don't get along. My favorite quote in my family is "Thank goodness I'm the brother."

I have been fortunate enough that my oldest sister is a DVC member with a home resort of BCV. My wife and I tag along because they don't make us pay for the room,we assist with paying for meals and generally we have a great time with her, my brother in law and our nephew and niece. (No kids for us yet!)

My other older sister does not get along with her and if we were all together for a holiday or a weekend I had to keep it tight-lipped in front of the other sibling. My oldest does not want her tagging along for numerous reasons. (Some legitimate gripes, some not).

They are civil to each other but cannot spend an extended amount of time together without getting into it. What bothered me the most was that the other sister has two little girls of her own (she's a single mom) who never got to experience Disney. For a while they couldn't put their differences aside for the sake of the kids. Finally, even though I'm the youngest, I had to put my foot down and insist that they get a chance to come along.

It is the worst feeling in the world having to keep a secret from a loved one let alone one pertaining to a Disney family vacation! However, that said, you can't always operate in "For the sake of the tribe" mode. My opinion is that you should be able to tell them after the fact and that your motivation was wanting to keep it a surprise. I can't remember exactly what you posted but does that make sense?

It is so wonderful to go at Christmas!!! I just LOVE all of the decorations. So FUN!

Hope you can keep it a secret and that you have a FABULOUS time!

I always say WHO CARES if others frown on your fun! They are the ones missing out!
