Well, this thing got the better of me last night. And it's looking more and more like Rheumatoid Arthritis. So glad I go to rheum. on Friday. I am praying he can help. I could not sleep due to hands/wrists and feet and shoulders aching. Could not get comfortable, didn't know where to put my darn hands. DHhad to rub cream on my fingers to get my rings off and today they won't go back on. He rubbed Icy HOt on my hands and that helped a bit. FInally slept on myback with my hands on a pillow that I put on my stomach. Got in late since I needed extra sleep.

I admit it...I actually cried last night.

luvwinnie, I am so sorry. I have the same thing. I have tried lots of meds, but right now I am taking a combination of Vioxx 25 mg twice a day, andhydroxychlooroquine 200mg 1 once a day. I can't remember the counter name for the second one, but it is a med given to people who had Maleria, that has helped when used in combinations. I also use the ICY hot. I am so sorry, I know how bad it can hurt. Hugs...if you ever want to talk...let me know

It's Plaquenil...right? I've done my homework. My great-grandmother and my mom have RA. My mom couldn't take meds due to kidney disease and now her hands her quite twisted.

I hope the new doctor can help you out. Have you tried putting your hands in very warm water? My uncle who had RA would wash dishes or something just before he went to bed, just to soak his hands in the hot water and he said it helped.
