So Frustrated With July 2012 Rates!

ok rude why is 7 to 10 days a normal honeymoon??? it maybe normal for you!!!!

Everybody is here to voice their opinion and offer other suggestions. If you wanted a long Honeymoon, you should plan and save OR cut back on the wedding a little bit. I am sorry there arent discounts out yet but we all are merely offering ways to belp. I just wanna point out that you are lucky to be having a honeymoon at all! I and my DH couldnt afford to take one at all. We went to Disney for the first time last October when we celebrated our 10th anniversary. We stayed at the Poly and had a wonderful 6day/5night trip. So it really doesnt matter where you stay or how long you stay-you are in Disney after all. And might I point out you were the one whining over staying at a value.......JUST SAYIN! :thumbsup2

I am not being rude, I live in the REAL world where if we can't afford something we don't do it. You said and I quote "almost 5,000!!! We can't afford that ugh.... " So if you can't afford an almost 3 week honeymoon then don't go for 3 weeks.

You are complaining "its bad enough we have to stay at a value resort." Well I don't see a gun to your head that you HAVE TO take a 3 week vacation at a value resort!!!!

I never get annoyed with posts but this one got under my skin. Complaining that there are no discounts for July 2012 (did you realize it is now October 2011?) put me over the edge!

I would book what you want now, and make changes later. I must agree with some that 14-18 days is a lot. Most honeymoons I know are usually a week or so. A honeymoon is special, so I'd go moderate at least, and do the dining plan. Book it, and hope for a code later. If you dont get one, then take some days off, etc. You never know what or when codes will be for. We just got free dining for spring break, and last year got 30% spring break week. So its never unheard of for codes at peak times.

OP--have you ever considered renting a reservation from a DVC member? You could very likely cut the cost of accommodations in half and get a nice studio villa at a deluxe resort?

As others said, you could do vacation club rental. I got a total of $4,195 for 14 nts. at AKL studio with dining and 10 day park tickets. July 6 for arrival. Not sure if it is still available, but worth checking.

OP, I will second what others have said about considering a DVC rental. It gives great accomodations, location, and hotel features that you may be missing if you go value (which sounds like it, understandably, important to you). If you can't afford to rent points for the full time you wish to go, would you consider taking a few nights off? Or like someone else said, you can use cash from the wedding to put towards your honeymoon if it is that important to you. Regardless of where you end up, just try not to let things make you lose sight of the fact that it'll still be your honeymoon, and you'll be spending it with your favorite person ;) happy planning and best wishes to you both!
