My husband and I joined the DVC on a cruise that disembarked May 15th. Our credit card has been charged the down payment, and we were told our papers were sent FedEx a week ago Friday. Apparently they are unable to track them, and we have not received them. Our guide is out on another cruise, and the random guides who answer the phone just keep telling us to wait--eventually the contracts will get to us. I am really, really frustrated at this point.

Don't sweat it. I'm sure they'll get it straightened out.

Call and ask to speak to a supervisor. Tell them that you are worried about the papers being lost (when they contain confidental info) and that "eventually" doesn't cut it for the amount of money you are about to spend.

Who told you they can't track them, all FedEX packages can be traced.

Don't worry - as PP's have said, call back tomorrow and ask for a manager/supervisor.

Explain the situation - and play your card - the sale is at stake.

If they can't get you the documents....

We have never had that trouble with direct sales or resales.
We have done two of each, and our documents have always arrived exactly when they said they would arrive.

Just in case you are not aware, you should still be able to make reservations, even without your paperwork.

Points are loaded within a day or so of putting down your deposit and available for bookings.

I also agree that you should give them a call again and talk to a manager about the paperwork. It could be delayed because of the guide--I wonder if it never got sent prior to him leaving again for another cruise.

Everything I receive from them via FEDEX requires a signature. Is it possible there is maybe a "1st attempt" type of form under a doormat by your front door? Just a thought.. You should call Member Administration (Quality Assurance, I think) as they are the folks who send out the paperwork actually, not the Guide. They would be able to at least give you the tracking number... don't worry, it will get straightened out I am sure! :)

Take it from someone who has signed so many packages of 'these' papers...don't sweat the paperwork. Your points are probably already loaded into the system and you will end up getting them soon enough. Look at the good side...the later the paperwork is received, the later your first payment will be (if you financed it!). If you are already paid in full, then all I have to say is...Welcome Home Neighbor and congrats on your decision to become a DVC member!!!!

Oh and like others said, you can ALWAYS call MS and ask for a supervisor to vent your frustrations.

I hope you are able to sit back and enjoy one of the best decisions you could have made for yourself and family...way to go!!!!:cool1:

We bought DVC in the middle of May as well. Our paperwork did not need to be signed for when Fedex delivered it. The delivery guy didn't even knock (I was home and waiting for the paperwork). He just tossed it on the doormat at our front door. :confused3

We are in a similar situation. We decided to purchase on our May 10 cruise. They sent the paperwork out but didn't receive it because it was shipped to an old address they had in the system. I was in discussion with our guide and she noticed a mistake in the pricing so she had it corrected. In the meantime I guess they have been busy with the Aulani webcasts and our paperwork is at the bottom of the stack. Doesn't seem to be a great way to close the deal.:sad2:
