Hi everyone...my name is Shawn and my hubby is Jeff. He and I will be taking our brand new (yet to arrive actually!) pop-up to Fort Wilderness from CT on 2/21! We'll arrive on Saturday for one week! We are so excited to be camping at the Fort! I just wanted to introduce ourselves and let you know what a great site this is to get great info!

Welcome to the boards. My wife and I have towed our popup up your way to Cape cod a few times from FLorida. This past halloween we were at FW for 8 nights and it was the best vacation I've ever had. So worn out at night I had no problems sleeping. You will like the fort, the campsites are nice and level.

Jim...we have a question for you. We were planning to drive I95 down but realize they don't allow propane tanks through the big bridge/tunnel...I think we can detour around and take the Francis Scott Key Bridge instead. Is this what you do?

Lies, lies, lies!

You are going to hate FW.

There is just too much to do or not to do. It is too quiet. It is too relaxing. It is too friendly. It is to woodsy.

DW and I have been to FW 40+ times in the last 5 years and we just hate the place. Seems our motorhome has this thing about heading directly to FW when I turn on the CD and the first song is the Main Street Electrical Parade from the Magic Kingdom at WDW. The MH already made ressies for March, April, May, June, Sept...., it's just terrible.

Try and have some fun if you can.

You are right you can not not go thru the tunnel @ Balt. take Rt. 695 East to the Scott Key Bridge it will pit you back on 95 a little south of Balt.
I like to take Rt. 301 out of De. till it meets 95 in Va. a nicer drive and you miss all the Balt. & D.C. traffic, just my opion also I drive tractor trailer and run between De. & D.C. every nightso I am tired of that ride.
