Somehow, it's already here - can't believe how something so far away can suddenly be right in front of you.
I wrote about our upcoming trip on my blog, but I feel like I have to mention it here as well - you guys get it.
Two weeks on that beautiful ship - that's just crazy.
What's even more amazing - and I have to give Kudos - is Dreams Unlimited - and I didn't even book with them, well I did...sorta
Two years ago, on a whim, I booked this trip and somehow got my family and friends onboard. We booked with Dreams Unlimited, and together with Marla, we planned out our incredible journey. Then, all of a sudden, in January - special rates came out for airline employees - really special rates. Rates that would allow the 8 of us (4 staterooms) to have verrandahs for half the price of what we paid for the window only staterooms (AND included gratuities for the length of our cruise).
I seriously doubted that I'd be able to have the rate converted and was starting to feel like I'd let my group down by booking us early when we could have had more for less.
Disney confirmed that I couldn't upgrade because I booked with a travel agent and that to change the rate now I would need Dreams Unlimited to release the reservation from their care and put it in mine. That meant Dreams Unlimited would lose their commission and what crazy company would do that?
Well, they did. The jumped through hurdles and made it happen for us and now this trip is just unbelievable (it already was, but now moreso). I feel spoiled and so lucky - and so grateful that there are still businesses out there that don't necessarily put the dollar sign before the experience.
Like I said, I'm an airline employee and on my flights in and out of Orlando, I mention Dreams Unlimited all the time and I hope I send enough business their way to cover the commission they lost!
To end my story, the trip is here. We head down tomorrow for some pre-park action (did our volunteering for our free day at the magic kingdom!) and then it's off on our trip.
Thank you - everybody here - who have helped me plan along the way! I really appreciate this group and your knowledge - not to mention your friendliness!
