I read that thread a while back about all the terrific items at TJ's. Then I got a flier from them today--their prices are fantastic!
I love Whole Foods, but the closest one is an hour away & their prices are a bit tough to stomach. DH & I both work full time, are in grad school & have 3 very active teens/preteens. But the price of convenience foods deters me...
I think grocery shopping will be FUN!

hey trader joes is opening a store in my town this weekend and I'm equally excited.

Rochester mn.

It will go over well here in the location behind the mall.

Trader Joes is great. They have very good prices. Their pepperment covered JoJos are awesome!!!!

I am sitting here eating Dark Chocolate Covered Peppermint Joe Joe's as I type! Sooooo yummy! They have so many awesome holiday snacks and treats in right now I have to limit my visits!

Enjoy!!!:lovestruc

I'm envious! I used to love Trader Joes when we lived in Vegas..now..I don't even know where one is..way far away anyway :(

I wish we would get on near here. I always hear such great things about it and what items people are able to get from there. It makes me so jealous! :lmao:

I love their holiday coffees, cheap hummus, frozen pizza, 3 buck chuck, I could really go on and on.

Ours opens today (Lincoln, NE) I got a flyer for their holiday items! Can't wait, but I have to wait around for a Xmas delivery before I can go, hurry Fedx person!:worship:

I have been lucky enough to have a Trader Joes in my area for 5-6 years. I started out only buying a few items each week and now it is the only place I buy groceries. If you are accustom to Whole Foods prices you are going to be in shock when you see how much lower Trader Joes prices are on similiar if not the same items. They guaratee everything you purchase so if you ever come across anything you don't like(I haven't yet) you can return the opened package for a full refund. Samples are my favorite part, I go in with no ideas for dinner and their samples always help, plus free coffee! Good luck, try everything, save money!

Just got back from our store that just opened today. It was packed! So it was hard to look at things today, but I picked up a few items. Some cinimon bread, salsa, mac n cheese bits (my DD loves them) and their sugar cookie kit (for us to work on this weekend), plus my free shopping bag. Reg for $50 worth of free groceries. I could have stayed for a long time if the crowds were lighter! Oh well I will just have to go back.

They have the best price on Mango Stilton cheese we've ever found. Most of their cheeses are a steal compared to other stores. Then of course there's 2-Buck Chuck and their homebrand beers.

I live in a hip urban area of DC and we had a recent issue come up to the county over zoning because they wouldn't be able to accomodate the typical parking requirements for a grocery. I showed my support for giving them a pass (zoning exception) since it would mean a TJ's in my neighborhood. I know that many of my neighbors were excited too! We have a Whole Foods about 5 blocks away and a blah regular grocery store about 10 blocks but a TJ's opens up so many more opportunities. I can still shop WF for organic produce and TJ's for the other food options.

My latest favorite item from TJ's is chicken apple sausage. It is above the raw meat section. So yummy! I usually slice the link in half and crisp it up.
