DH and I are going in August and had decided to try the Pop Century. But after talking (A LOT !! LOL!!) we've decided to upgrade all the way up to the Beach Club! :cool1:

We've always wanted to stay there, and figure you only live once, right? :goodvibes

So if you could reassure me that this is a good decision, and worth the extra cash (we LOVE Epcot and will be spending most of our time there and at MGM), I'd appreciate it!! :cloud9:

Thanks!

You are going to LOVE the Beach Club. This is our new favorite resort. The walk to Epcot, the pool, the Boardwalk are all great! You have to eat at Beaches & Cream (at least go for ice cream).

CJ,

You won't be sorry. We are also staying there for the first time in Aug (8/26 to 9/3) and sharing with the GF. We are a blue-collar family - really shouldn't be spending the money on hotels, but we have been spoiled by the monorail. I will probably have to work a little more to help pay for college, but these trips to WDW are well worth it.

Also, I'm in my early 40's and every few months I keep hearing of someone else my age with cancer. I want to make as many memories as I can for my family because you never know what the future holds.

I always feel bad for a while about spending the money, but you are right - you only go around once. Please enjoy yourself and cut back on other little things along the way - you'll feel better!!

Also, I can't tell you how *wonderful* it is not to have to take a bus everywhere. It's the next best thing to being at Epcot itself!!

Great post! :flower:

I think you are going to be blown away by the convenience of being so close to Epcot and MGM. You will save a lot of time. It will be a more relaxed vacation.

Hi CJ,
Maybe I'll see you there.
We love the BC so much that with all of the current resort options, we will always choose BC. The only thing that get's us down is the price. We're not wealthy by any means so it's a steep price but we love the convenience. If we were to look at the price we pay for the room, we would be disappointed. It's the location that we love since we enjoy ending our evenings at EPCOT and like to take time to use the pool.

Definitely worth the cash, especially since you love EPCOT. After all, it's only money. You will not be sorry, not one bit.
The only downside is that I think it might be tough to go back to values after a deluxe!

You will love that area. There is so much to do. You are in walking distance to both Epcot and MGM. Though I prefer the Boardwalk resort over Beach Club. And it's true, once you stay at a deluxe resort, it is VERY hard to go moderate or value, especially if you have stayed on the concierge floor. Have fun on your trip :flower:

Another angle....

Think of all the money you'll save by not having to buy tix to BB or TL--you have your own "waterpark" at the Beach Club!

ENJOY IT!

I appreciate all the positive responses! DH & I can't wait to "live the good life" at the Beach Club!! :cloud9:

You can't go wrong with the Beach Club. That's where we stayed our 1st two trips to WDW. The pool is the best! The convenience of walking to Epcot can't be beat. The only down side to the Beach Club is the fact that there isn't a food court for late night snacks. However, the bakery at France is only a short walk away!

Beach Club is awesome! You might want to try to rent points from a DVC member, depending on availability. That may save quite a bit of money. Good Luck-Have fun!!

Even though I'm one of Pop Century's biggest fans - you simply can't compare the two.

Pop Century is a great value resort, but it still is a value resort. BC is in a whole different league.

Have a great time.

Yep....I was just going to suggest that you look over the DVC rent/trade board and see if you can rent the points your cost would be virtually cut in half. Good Luck!

Youre going to love it!
DS13 & I will be at VWL 8nights in Aug followed by 6nights at VWL
(at one time planning this trip we had the Pop booked too and changed it)

Just back yesterday and BC is great. Well worth the money! It is great to be so close to everything. DH got went over to Epcot - got fast passes to Soarin - and came back until it was time to go over and walk right on! Talk about convienent. It took a lot of convincing to get DH to sign on to this trip (we were just at the Poly in November 2004) - but after staying at the BC he is already on board for another return. You feel like you are at a resort - not just in the "Disney Zone". Have a Great Time!
