I am so super excited!!! I booked our Disney vacation for next Dec 6-15 2011 yesterday! My husband has no idea so i wrapped the invoice up for his Christmas gift! I had to share I know its a long way away but i can't wait! Right now i booked the Caribbean beach resort but i am thinking of switching it to maybe the swan or dolphin. We have never stayed there but we have stayed at the beach club and love the area. Would you reccomend that we switch or stay? We will have a car. Thanks!

That is awesome. :cool1:

I am on cloud nine myself today :cloud9:, since my Disney-tolerating husband, who has been twice in 2010, said that he would be up for a week-long trip in July, since I was bummed that the Paris/London dates don't work for him, since he's a teacher.

I asked him where he wanted to stay (expecting him to say the cheapest resort possible), and he said either Beach Club or the Contemporary. :) Yay, husband.

We loved CBR...have never stayed at Swan or Dolphin, although the luxury aspect does appeal, but pocketbook says otherwise!:lmao:
I found this information on another board so thank you MNosky1.

"Disney hotel advantage
I didn't think I would but I do love being able to charge everything on one card. (YOu cna't do this at Swan/DOlphin either)
Disney themeing
Customer service
Fun pools and activities for kids
Gift shop!

Disadvantage - smallish hotel rooms, tough for napping, eating in room etc, one bathroom

Swan/Dolphin is nice and really is like a luxury hotel - much fancier than the Disney "deluxes", EXCEPT: no balconies on standad rooms, $10/day "resort fee" and $11/day parking at hotel (approx prices) (parking at other disney hotels and parks though are free if you stay at S/D). We use free spg hotel nights so it's no brainer for us. The luxury is nice and the location too but not Disney themed. The pool is vey nice. No magical express but service to all parks."

Could you do a split stay? That would give a you a taste of both worlds.

Yay!! Now the planning begins! :jumping1:

My mom and sister have stayed at the Dolphin and loved being so close to Epcot and DHS. My nephew was two at the time and it made it really convenient to go back and forth from the room. Plus, no busses to wait for.
