Just read a thanksgiving thread, and I can't believe how excited I am! I need the break from work, and my boyfriend is coming home with me for the first time to meet my family!

Thanks for listening to me ramble... now go on to your regularly scheduled DISing.

The other day my teenager told me he thinks of Thanksgiving as the Christmas warm-up!

I think of it as the warm, family, food part of Christmas without all the crazyness and gift giving.

Thanksgiving is my favorite!

I get excited for the simple things too. Sounds like you have a nice holiday planned.

Our oldest DS is just turning 16 at Thanksgiving. Maybe I'll wake him up early on Friday morning and have him drive me around to all of the sales. He should learn a thing or 2 about driving that way, huh?

:rotfl: As long as you're ok with a couple fender benders- those parking lots on Black Friday are madness!

I love cooking for Thanksgiving. You get tons of leftovers with a large turkey. We had Thanksgiving in October and I had meals for a few days.

I still prefer Christmas (you can't replace the candlelight Christmas Eve service at church...) but Thanksgiving is almost as good! I haven't been home since last Christmas, although I did see my mom when we met up down at Disney this past summer.

And, it's 5 days where I don't have to work!!!

I love the cooking too! I'm hoping my mom will save some of it for me to do since I won't be getting up there until 3:00ish on Wednesday. I could get in late Tuesday night, but the idea of driving through dark cold PA at night isn't exactly sounding tempting. I'd rather get an early start Wed morning.
