I can't believe I'm asking this question, but is there a monorail to EPCOT. Where does that monorail travel and how to you get to it. We will be at WL this 2007 summer and are thinking about NOT renting a car - we always rent a car. I just need to know a bit about that particular monorail

Yes, there is a monorail from the Ticket & Transportation Center to EPCOT.

The monorail to Epcot drops you off outside of the main gate and the pathways to BW and Yacht and Beach Club lead up to the International Gateway. If you have a park pass you can go through the main gate and around to the UK, then exit through International Gateway and walk to the resorts. Beach club is just five minutes or so away and BW is a little farther. If you are more adveturous you can get to Swan and Dolphin or even MGM. There also are boats to all of those locations that leave from the dock at International Gateway.

If you don't have a park ticket you can use, I don't think you can walk around Epcot to get to the International Gateway site. I may be wrong about that, however, and I'm sure I will be corrected if I am.

You are correct. The only way to get to the International Gateway from the monorail station (outside the front gates) is to go through EPCOT. It's an option you can use if you have a park hopper or are willing to use a day of a regular pass (as long as you haven't used that pass at another park on the same day). It'll probably take at least 30 minutes to get off of the monorail, go through security and the turnstiles at the front gate and then walk through EPCOT to the International Gateway in back of the park.

thanks everyone - We are not park hoppers, we are resort hoppers. I don't think that we can utilize that monorail at all. Darn.

Here's a transporation map, I hope it will help

BUT! You can take the bus from Wilderness Lodge to MGM, then either walk to the Boardwalk/Beach Club/Yacht Club, or take a Friendship Boat.

to get to BW from WL - you take the bus to Studios - then either ride the boat or walk to BW.

you can take the boat from WL to the CR and ride the monorail to MK where you can switch to a bus to the BW

The quickest way to get to the Epcot resorts from Wilderness Lodge is to take the boat to MK, then take a bus to one of the Epcot resorts.

The monorail is the perfect way to resort hop around the 3 monorail resorts - Contemporary, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian. To do this from Wilderness Lodge, take the boat to Contemporary, and when you are done exploring, take the monorail around to the other resorts in turn, ending up back at Contemporary.

When resort hopping around the Epcot resorts, I love to use the Friendship launches. Although you can easily walk between all of the Epcot resorts, I love to ride the boat at least part of the way around just for the views of the resorts from the middle of Crescent Lake.

Another nice boat loop is the Downtown Disney resort launches; they depart from a dock at the Marketplace and visit Saratoga Springs, and the two Port Orleans resorts. The scenery alone along the way is worth the time, not to mention the opportunities to see the resorts along the way.
