Not with room VIEWS, but, let's say it is your birthday, did you ever get a surprise, like in the room? Just curious, since we book through member services.

nah - i wouldn't expect anything like that.

i went during my birthday last year - got the gift card that i signed up for during the "what will you celebrate?" promo but nothing extra from DVC.

i'm pleased with my DVC but DVC is a timeshare. if you got extras, they would just have to increase your dues in order to pay for it.

Back in May I got a towel cake (more like a facecloth cake!) and a birthday card while we were at Kidani. Usually I leave the towel animals when we leave, but this one came home w/ me!

Nope... except of course...

...we were there last year for my birthday, and got a button from the front desk.

...and this year DW and I were there for our anniversary this year, and we BOTH got a button from the front desk.

We have gone every year over DWs birthday for a long weekend, since we became DVC Members. Out of 17 years, we have been pixiedust: with a ::MinnieMo Doll one time and signed birthday cards, balloons, or celebration buttons 6 other times. Never in back-to-back years.

Those types of "perks" are not what DVC is all about. Just like with upgrades, you may just want to take these types of things out of your vocabulary.

Even "Welcome Home" has been taken away from us. Now they say that at every resort.

We did get a birthday card with a discount photopass card in it last year for DH's birthday- I think we were staying at OKW.

Me too!!! I dont normally bring anyting home wither, but it was sooooo cute....and now we have a little bit of Disney Magic on every Birthday. the towel cake comes out for everyone.

We also received 2 towel swans with the heart shape in the middle for our anniversary. The cards with photopass in the room and pins at check in. This was all at Kidani.

At Vero Beach my son had a autographed picture card of Goofy & Max wishing him a Happy Birthday.

We did get a fruit basket one year, but that wasn't for a celebration. We had some problems with a vacation that MS ended up getting involved in, we had another trip scheduled a couple months later and they sent the basket as an apology....she kinda told me that they would have something in the room for us, just didn't know what it was.

The basket is in the shape of a mickey head, so it def came home and we still have it on the counter.:woohoo:

Last year on our Anniversary we stayed at AKV concierge ....it was great, we got Anniversary Buttons....an autographed Mickey picture....a discount photopass...AKV chocolates...his and hers fragrances( in these little carved elephants)..and several days of towel animals.

AKV Concierge is very good at goodies for celebrations. I have gotten chocolate covered strawberries, zebra domes, a birthday cake made of towels with candles and all the trimmings, AKV chocolate, discount card for Photopass, signed pictures of Mickey and Minnie wishing a happy birthday. the best one was when it got all messed up when they shut down half of concierge and made my vacation a mess. they did mostly fix it and I got a treasure chest with with chocolates and stuff. It was great and delicious. Chest is sitting in my office now filled with beads and jewels from a Pirate and Princess party we went to there.

I, too, have received the birthday buttons, a signed Mickey picture and a discount photopass. My DS received that PLUS a towel cake last year, which he still has on his dresser at home here--he'll be 18 this Dec. when we go. :thumbsup2

Years ago we received balloons and signed birthday cards for our kids. Pluto for my son and Belle and Beast for DD.

This last summer they just got the stock birthday cards.

Yup, have had several unexpected surprises in our DVC villas.

The best by far though was during our stay at Contemporary on Concierge floor. We used our points, and paid fee, as we had extra Developer's points that were due to expire. We checked in to what we thought was a regular room, and to the absolute surprise of us and the Concierge staff, we had been upgraded to the Presidential Suite (that's what they called it!). OMG! It had a foyer, 3 full bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, 3 balconies, kitchen, dining room, living room, and the most amazing view of the castle. We watched Wishes in our jammies! The butler also kept our kitchen stocked with free drinks and snacks too! It was a lovely room!

This was, by far, our biggest pixie dust surprise in all the years of going to WDW!

Tiger :)

This summer we were at AKL-Jambo for DH's birthday and our anniversary. We got AKL chocolates and a nice card with an African proverb printed on it the last night we were there. I never figured out if they were for his birthday, our anniversary or a good-bye gift.

Just had my DD there during her 1st birthday and DS for his 5th and didnt receive anything. Unless you count the food poisoning we got at CP :scared1::sick:

We had a killer view of DCA from our 2 br villa at the GCV but I think it's because I nattered them weekly for months with my request.
