So Does Anyone Eat Big Breakfasts?

Based on my previous question, it seems all of you head out to the park very early and a lot of you are eating pop tarts or cereal in your rooms for breakfast. But does anyone eat at the character breakfasts, if so what time or other all you can eat buffets or full service meals at hotels?

We try to eat a large breakfast a couple of times during the time we are there. We usually eat around 8am, as long as a PS is available - to date we haven't just walked in to eat.

We have done Crystal Palace at 8:05am and Boma at 7:45am - both weren't terribly busy, but we went during the week and not on a weekend.

The other days, we stop at Boardwalk Bakery or a small shop in the park we are visiting to eat something quick. We are just not big on eating in our rooms, as we can do that at home - we like the difference in our eating pattern when we are on vacation!

I would definately do a character breakfast. Try Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary. Take bus to MK and jump on monorail to the CR. It is buffet style and has really good food. Then take monorail back to MK for a magical day!

My family loved Ohana's at the Polynesian Resort for breakfast. It a Character Breakfast and they bring the food to your table. Try it out and ride the Monorail to the MK!!! Good way to start the Day!!!!

The days we have large character breakfasts we are often in the park that has opened "early" for the day. We get there at opening & get many rides done early with smaller crowds, then have a late breakfast/early lunch.

My kids LOVE breakfast foods so this saves time & money for us! We often eat around 10 am. WE have eaten something small at the hotel, then "brunch" around 10 am & are often not hungry until an early dinner...4:30/5pm. The mickey bars or popcorn during the afternoon help hold the kids off until dinner too!!

we just returned last night and we ate large breakfast, mostly buffet each morning and it was a good way to go, ate once at Spoodles got there at 7:30 when they opened no crowds at all. great breakfast.
both other nights we ate at the buffet at the Swan it was great as well.
One day we did not eat again until late that night. So was good to have big breakfast.

Our strategy is to schedule a late character breakfast in the park for about 10:15 or 10:30. This way we get some prime park touring time in first thing and then we eat breakfast, relax a bit while we are enjoying the visits with the characters, have a late afternoon snack and then an early dinner.

This trip we are trying having an early character breakfast at the MK on a non-early day so that when we are done with breakfast we will be right at rope drop for the rides at 9:00. We'll see how this works.

Our favorite character breakfasts include: Cindy's Royal Table, Crystal Palace, Donald's Restaurantasarus and 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian.

The Whispering Pines Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge has a wonderful breakfast, and afterward you can take their boat to the MK.

Last time we stayed off site and had a free continental breakfast. We found that we had more enrgy if we just got a muffin and some OJ. I love CP breakfast but all those Mickey waffles just slow us down. When we go it's just for a few days, and we don't really have the luxury of taking it too slow. We're going to bring some breakfast stuff with us and eat in the room while taking turns in the bathrooms.

We're hitting CP for dinner this time.

As someone else mentioned, the bigger breakfasts tend to slow us down. If we are not doing a park, maybe doing miniature golf or shopping, we will tend to eat a bigger sit-down type of breakfast. None of us are big "first-thing" in the morning breakfast eaters - we tend to like a meal more like brunchtime.

We have found that having concierge lounge available is just perfect for us...a continental offering of muffins and the like ready and waiting for us to eat. It is perfect for the early riser (me) to go to the lounge, get a few items and take back to the room to be ready as the sleepyheads wake.

Last time we stayed at Tropical Palms so we had a full kitchen. Most mornings we got up early and cooked pretty big breakfasts, and plan on doing that again in January. We stayed full until pretty late and had an early dinner with snacks in between. Worked out great for us!

We take a box of cereal with us and buy milk at the food court to eat breakfast in the room. A couple of times we'll have a character breakfast, usually a late sitting on an EE morning for the park - so we can then exit the park and move on. Can't cope with a big breakfast before hitting the rides.

We stay at the GF and any day that we are planning to go to the Magic Kingdom, we eat at 1900 Park Place. We are an early rising family and get the earliest PS - last year we had one at 7:15 a.m. and were the only ones for about 20 minutes. All the characters to ourselves.

Almost every trip we schedule a few character meals or larger breakfasts. We usually split the meals down the middle, this trip we are staying two weeks, so I'm planning on eating light 7 days and plan on 6 good breakfasts.

The days we eat big breakfasts we usually just snack until dinner then have a decent dinner.

The days we don't eat large breakfasts we at least grab muffins or doughnuts and juice/coffee/milk. Then we plan a better lunch and then a lighter dinner.

When I do plan on a larger breakfast we schedule the PS for one that is at or near the park we are visiting for the morning. If we're using EE we eat breakfast at the latest seating left. If it's a non-EE we eat at the earliest time left.

We also like to schedule dinner shows or character dinners. We just love them and it's great to get a few minutes one and one time with the characters. We think that's worth the extra expense of the meal. My little one and my eldest have had some awesome times at the meals and beg to go back everytime.

Plus we've yet to have a bad meal at these places! No it isn't your 5 star restaurant, but it better then the avg. buffet place, IMHO.

We have found that if we eat a very large breakfast we can skip lunch (maybe a snack) and go on until dinner.
We love the Spoodles breakfast and normally get there when they open at 7:30am. We each have a breakfast pizza (flatbread)and then something else with it. We LOVE their breakfast pizza and enjoy all their breakfast offerings.
However, we do not do this if our first rides are going to be Tower of Terror, Rock n Rollercoaster, or Mission: Space.
Would not suggest going on any of these with a full stomach!!!!

We do either a character breakfast or sit down meal for breakfast most days at WDW. We usually have a very light lunch if we are even hungry then a nice dinner, we prefer buffets for dinner. We usually have breakfast between 8-9 am.

Since we are DVC we usually do breakfast in the room. We try to do at least one character breakfast per trip. On the days we do a big breakfast we usually do a very, very light lunch. Nice to kind of mix it up a bit.

The "big breakfast--snack at lunch" plan sounds good to me. Especially if breakfast is Tonga Toast from Kona at the Poly:D

we always eat bacon and eggs for breakfast, usually at least 3eggs and 4rashers of canadian bacon or ham

We usually stay in the cabins at FTW. Since we have a full kitchen, we will eat fairly good breakfasts. Some mornings it's just cereal and toast, though. On our non park days we will go out for breakfast. Our favorite non character breakfasts are Boma and Kona. Our favorite character breakfast is 1900 Park Fare.
