With all the rumors, it seems like there is quite a bit of interest in this possible new DVC location.

Do you plan to buy there?

How many points?

Are you a current owner? Where? How many? popcorn::

No, we do not plan on buying pts at CRV (isn't that the name of a car?? :confused3 ).

Currently we have enough pts for our needs - :scared1: (I can't believe I just posted that "we have enough pts" didn't think there was such a thing!!)

But am very happy for all of you who are excited about the possibility of a new resort :goodvibes :goodvibes

Likely and sell all else we own. Mostly to downsize more than the desire for the anticipated resorts of VCR and AKL though.

I would love to buy at VCR or CRV or whatever it might be called. I would sell one of my other contracts (230 pts at OKW and 200 pts at BWV) and downsize so I don't have to pay too much OOP after fees to the TTS and capital gains.

ETA: My DH is completely in LUV with AKV and would balk at buying anywhere else. I am completely in LUV with VCR/CRV and don't want to buy anywhere else. We're in trouble!

We will buy 50 points... of course we don't need them but I guess we will have an excuse to go twice a year. If AK shows up all bets are off - we will sell everything and buy points there. As of now:

SSR - 160 points
BCV - 50 points
VWL - 50 points

No, we stayed at Contemporary one time and hated it -- we were in the outbuildings and it had zero Disney magic at all for us. I'd rather be almost anywhere in a DVC than there...which is good b/c it seems like everyone else wants to be there! ;)

Not sure yet. We will wait to see the buy in price and maintenance fee structure.

Same here. ::yes::

We're not sure either. We are pretty new DVC'rs with 270 (split in two contracts) at SSR.

If they offer guaranteed Magic Kingdom view rooms, I may find it irresistable. Would probably try to sell one of the SSR contracts. We really like SSR, but don't really need more points for our current needs. SSR fits us well & it would otherwise be where we plan to stay, but CRV/VCR sounds tempting.

We have stayed at CR twice in recent years - once in the South Wing & once in the Tower - Magic Kingdom view. When I think of WDW, that is what I think of - that view at night with the lights changing on the castle. Add the monorail access, the shops, marina & restaurants of the Contemporary & the easy hopping to the other monorail resorts - I think I am talking myself into it!

No desire for CRV at all. We stayed there the year before we bought DVC and didn't care for it at all (except of course for the monorail part).

I am pretty certain we will buy into CRV. Our first 2 Disney trips we stayed at the Contemporary and just fell in love with it. We are new DVC members having just bought 100 points at BCV through resale. I would say the Beach Club is our second love after the Contemporary. We are on the waitlist for 50 more points there and will probably buy about 100 - 150 at CRV depending on the price. I think 300 points will be all we need.

For us the biggest plus of the Contemporary is being able to walk back to our room at night when Magic Kingdom closes!!! It is such a wonderful convenience and that is a huge plus to my family. We also love being able to take the monorail to the other resorts for dinner and also having the boat options.

A definite NO here. Not interested in the location or the style of the Contemporary. HATE high rises as well.

VAKL might get my nod though, but only if there is never a Hawaii DVC.

No interest here either plus DW would kill me if we bought anymore points. :rotfl2:

depends when it goes on sales and how much. If in or after 2009 probably.

Mother loves this place. but at 84 she won't be around much longer. I would love a DVC resort on the monrail - long time wish.

right now
240 - OKW
50 - BWV
60 - VWL

so it would be the 2 contracts at OKW - probably the 50 points one - my niece would have a fit if I got rid of the 190 point one.

I would get enough points for a studio in the off season (like VWL and BWV).

We stayed at the Contemporary once through Shades of Green and hated it too. We were in the North Garden Wing and felt the same way about the lack of atmosphere. I'd rather save my money in the hopes that there will someday be a Polynesian DVC in our future! :teeth:

We have no interest at all. The monorail just isn't enough to get us to buy into a high rise building with no way to spread out

It would be a great addition to our DVC portfolio because of its high demand area (MK View/location and monorail), likely high resale (investment), additional contract years (48), NY EVE stays would be sensational to walk back to your room after MK fireworks.

An occasional stay using my other points at the 7-month window is about all I'd be interested in.
