So Cranium Command & Body Wars are gone???

My DS was 3 yrs old in May 2003 when we saw CC and he loved it. We had to go several times during the trip. He still talks about it. He certainly had no problem with outdated charactoers . He just thought they were all silly. It is General Knowledge who made the biggest impression. He loved him. When we went in May 2005 it said closed and I told him not to worry we were going again in Dec maybe it would be open then. He was disappointed but he also had a great time with Ice Station Cool. Please don't tell me I have to tell him both are gone !!! :guilty:

I was just on AllEars and this is what I found out.

Ice Cool Station-closed until early 2006. Will open as Cool Club(and will have Coke tasting)
Living Seas(including Turtle Talk) closed until Nov 23/05
BB-closed Oct 23-Dec/05 for annual rehab.
Liberty Square Riverboat closed until mid 2006 for extensive rehab
Haunted Mansion closed Nov 6-15 for refurbishment

There was no mention of Cranium Command or Body Wars

The building and attractions inside it are still there. They're just not open. I think the last time they opened was between Christmas 2004 - NYE 2004.

We were lucky we got to see it on 12/31/2004 because it had been ages since I'd seen it, DH doesn't remember it at all and the kids had never seen it.

I really think it's going the way of the dinosaur, and I'm really :(

It was open in February 2005 to substitute for all the other closed attractions in WDW during that time. (especially The Land)

And as stated before - WoL is closing because of sponsership issues. They took it off the website and the park map... There is a 70% possibility it will never reopen. This is sad b/c Cranium Command is such a great attraction (Body Wars and Making of Me were...eh...) The sensory games, bikes, and health computers were cool too (but needed renovating)

Maybe the same sponsor will help Spaceship Earth and Wonders of Life. If not, it's going to be pretty pathetic 25th anniversary in 2007. I can just picture it now, balloons, fireworks, and whole bunch of "closed" signs in front of the pavillions. Disney, are you listening?

They were both there and open when we went in March 2005. As for Body Wars, they can do as they please with it, it's the only ride that made me feel sick at WDW. Cranium Command was something we all enjoyed. My kids, even though they don't know those characters, found them to be funny. I think they also thought the "old dorky clothes" (80's wear) were funny.

Yes, my DW and I were also there in late March (the week before Easter) and the building was open and all of the shows were playing.

I also agree about Body Wars. Makes me dizzy every time (both times I've done on it), even with motion sickness pills in my system. It just isn't in sync very well. Star Tours barely phases me, but Body Wars - which is the same technology - is just terrible. :confused3

WillCAD - Well said!!! I will miss CC!

Agreed!!! Plus, my DS, nephew & nieces - the oldest of whom was 9 at last time we saw it - all LOVED CC as well! Sometimes you wonder just who is making these decisions??? :confused3

Jessica

Maybe we could convince Disney to keep the attraction in whatever they build in WoL...usually their attractions have similar concepts to its predecessor

I never liked Body Wars, it is the only ride in all of DW that makes me feel nauseous. However, Cranium Command was so funny! I will miss it. Hopefully they will put something good into that space soon.

Those were the two best rides in Future World, but you left out the ORIGINAL Journey into the Imagination. What they call Journey now is heartbreaking.:(

I am with you on that. The new Journey into the imagination is okay but not as great as the original. I remember that I loved Future World back then. I love TT and am anxious to try Soarin' but I wish they could have added the new rides and left the old ones as sort of an introduction to new rides. This is wishful thinking I know, but it certainly would have left Future World open to a broader audience.

Hopefully they will put something of the Thrill genre in there! I would LOVE to see Future World go in that direction!

I wouldn't.

The whole idea of Epcot was to have a "permanent World's Fair," a place showcasing both the history and culture of the world's various nations and current trends in science and technology.

Putting thrill rides into Epcot is like putting video games at every desk in an elementary school.

DS is 11 and has no idea who Hanz & Franz or anyone else is but one thing he loves is hearing:

"WHERE DO YOU THING YOU ARE DISNEY WORLD??!!! MOVE IT MOVE IT"

[Liberty Square Riverboat closed until mid 2006 for extensive rehab
I hope CC and BW are both open. THis is my 2nd time and my kids and DH 1st time to Epcot so we want to see it all. I'm already bummed about the Coke Station and the Living Seas. Oh regarding the LS Riverboat does this mean at MNSSHP they won't have the cruise/ Ghost story? Bummer!

So, is The Wonders of Life pavillion closed or not? Can anyone actually confirm this? I'm trying to make a touring plan for Epcot, but can't do it because I don't know if this is open. :earboy2:

Yes, the Wonders of Life IS closed. It has been closed for quite a while, except for beief periods when the crowds get thick and they need some additional rides open to keep the lines around the park from getting out of control. So don't plan on it being open, and if by some wild stroke of luck it is open when you get there, don't worry - WoL has never been enough to throw a touring plan off by more than an hour or two.

Thanks! :cool1:

I just thought of another attraction that I will miss...Food Rocks. I can't wait to try Soarin', but I really liked Food Rocks and will miss it. My DH still misses the original Kitchen Cabaret!
