Hi - I am very new to all of this. We are planning a quick trip while visiting relatives in the area. I had no idea how much planning needed to happen even for a quick trip, so I think I need to figure out our meals! We will be there two nights - Thurs Nov 13 and Fri Nov 14. Fri is a MVMCP which we are not attending. It will be me, dh, our twins who will be just under 3 yo and my parents. The girls are good in restaurants and dh and my parents are fairly picky. We are staying at the GF. My questions:

Arrival day (Thurs Nov13) we are not going to a park (visiting relatives during the day) Will check in mid afternoon and want to keep it fairly low key (next day all day at MK). So should we check out DTD and try to get ADRs there (Raglan Rd? anything else?)? Or should we check out one of the resorts and try for ADRs at one of those (Kona, Whispering Canyon, Boma???) Any suggestions?

Also - Friday we will be at MK - it closes at 7:00 for the party (I think - I need to double check that). The girls will be tired by then and need to eat around 6:30 or 7:00 anyway. I was thinking of trying either Kona or the Grand Flor. Cafe (sounds like that one may not fill up as early as others) If the park closes at 7:00, how crowded will the exits be - what time would we need to leave to get to GF or Poly by 6:30 or 7:00?

I know I may not get any of these, but I want to have a plan and some back up ideas before I call. Oh - we will have a car if needed. I have looked at the menus for the ones listed, just not sure how the atmosphere is, how doable it all is, what is fun for two young kids and grandparents, etc. Oh - not really worried about characters - may see about a breakfast Sat morning, but not too worried about it - I think my girls will be scared of them!

Thanks for any thoughts and suggestions!

I think either DTD or a resort restaurant is a good choice for the day you check in. The Rainforest Cafe at DTD is fun, and your girls might really enjoy the atmosphere.

For dinner on your MK, you should either do 1900 Park Fare (Character Dinner) or Grand Floridian Cafe. Try for 1900 Park Fare (the twins will love the characters), and if you cannot get an ADR there, then I do not think you should have any trouble getting an ADR at the Cafe. The Cafe is a nice dining expierience too!

From MK - give yourself about 25 minutes to get to the monorail, exit at the Grand, and walk down to the restaurant. This could be a bit generous in time, but since the park is closing for "non-MVMCP guests", then the monorail tends to be a bit busier and can sometimes be slow.
