O.k. This will be our very first trip to Disney EVER so we want to make it special. It will be me-21, DH-32, DS-22 months, my sister-17, and my mom-36. First we were going to stay at Movies----found the disc. at Mousesaver's switched to Sports. Now with this new disc. DH said we could upgrade-----I called and they had Carib. Beach, POFQ, and POR. I chose CBR-----Did I choose right? or should I switch again? Also, do they penalize for swithing ressie's so much? LOL Thanks for everyone's help!

It is hard trying to decide on a resort!!! We've stayed at the Value, Moderates and Deluxes! No, there's no penalty for switching resorts that I'm aware of.

We've stayed at the All Star Movies twice - and my little girl loves this hotel! Food court was good, bus service excellent (we rarely shared a bus with the other All Star resorts).

We've also stayed at PO FQ - this was very nice and not too spread out. Also, at the time, it shared a bus with POR - but FQ was the first pick up and drop off.

We haven't tried CBR, but I've read many nice reports on it. I believe there's a thread on that resort! I have heard that the resort is spread out, so you may want to bring your own stroller so you can push your little one around.

Enjoy!!

If you found the Caribbean theme at CBR to entice you than you should be happy. It is colorful and upbeat wiht nicely remodled rooms that are a bit bigger than the other 3 moderate resorts. the food court and restaurant were just remodeled as well.
Trying to choose a Disney resort can be difficult, even after you have been a few times. They are all great places to stay so don;t worry if you have made the right choice. :)

Choosing a resort is purely personal - oh and don't worry about changing so much...it happens a lot.

What's most important to you? Location?
CBR is closest to the parks. POFQ and PORS are both nearer to DD.

My personal favorite is POFQ and we haven't even stayed there yet! It's a smaller resort - things are very close by. The one thing about CBR I don't like is that there over 3000 rooms there and it's very spread out.

Maybe check out wdwig.com and view the pictures that they have on each ofthese resorts. That might help you make a decision.

CBR is a wonderfull place to stay DD and I made it our first place to stay and we loved it but now that DH goes he loves BWI and we stay there but if he stayed home we would go back to CBR.

POR, POFQ, CSR and AKL and have enjoyed all of them. The AKL is awesome but is a Deluxe resort. Like the CBR, CSR is pretty large and it is quite a hike from the Ranchos area to the main building. Of course, you may get a room in another section closer to the bus stops, restaurants, etc. We recently stayed at POFQ for the first time and really enjoyed it. The resort is nicely themed and compact so everything is fairly close. The bus service is also good because the buses stop there first before going on to POR. The boat to/from DTD and POR is also nice. The drawback to POFQ is that you must go to POR for a meal at a real full service restaurant (Boatwright's). If you stay at POFQ or POR, find out when Bob "The Piano Man" Jackson will be performing at the River Roost Lounge at POR. He is pure family entertainment and a lot of fun to watch and listen to. It is a tough decision but you really can't go wrong with any of the resorts.

You'll love the CBR. I was once told that it is the most returned to moderate in WDW. I believe it has 2000 rooms but they did a great job of making if feel as though it isn't crowded, even when it is sold out. Ask for a room closer to the food court area (Old Port Royale) and you won't have to walk so far. We stay there with our family on a regular basis and the ages run from babies to great-grandparents. We live in the west so the CSR doesn't appeal to us - too much like home. The tropical feel of the CBR is terrific and the lake is beautiful at sunset. I would ask for a room not on the parking lot side though as you can hear the buses late at night. Otherwise, the rooms are constructed to be very quiet. Have fun.

If you are all staying in the same room, then with 4 adults you should go for the moderates just for the extra space. My personal choice is PO Riverside. I have stayed at all of the values and all of the moderates many times, and still always love staying at PO Riverside (dixie landing). There is nothing I don't like about this resort. While all of the other ones are great in each of their own way, there is something I don't like about each of them, but can't say that about POR. Do a little research on this site, WDWinfo.com and also other sites (WDWIG.com) and they may help you decide.

CBR is a nice resort. If you are close to the food court it is even better. It has a nice pool also and it is big so if you want to get out and walk this is the place. Bring a stroller you will need it. Enjoy.

You'll be fine at CBR. Call back with any requests, such as non-smoking, connecting rooms and room location. Martinique and Trinindad North are the closest villages the main pool and food court. Go to wdwig.com to see resort photos, a map, and FAQ. The rooms are very nice and have lots of storage space. The rooms are recently redone (about year and half old?) and the food court was just redone and they have a new sit-down restaurant. Good bus service and you are very close to Ecpot (which is so relaxing with a little one at night) and MGM. Make sure you bring light weight stroller that is easy to fold up.

I would also fax a letter to the resort with your requests 5 days ahead (see wdwig.com for info on how to do this).

If you are early risers, take advantage of the Magic Mornings. If not, avoid those parks on those days. Have fun!!!

We stayed at the CBR in 2001. My 60ish parents, 20+brother and sister-in-law, my 9 yr. old and myself (30 something) and it was great! We all liked it very much.

We were pretty far away from the food court and pool though. I would request a building closer if I were to return. The resort is spread out and it takes quite a while to walk across it!

The themeing is beautiful and everything was neat and well maintained.

The food court was good with an adequate selection.

My DD loved the pool and the arcade. We loved the poolside bar! ;)

The bus service was good to the parks but seemed very slow to DD and BB. The bus stops are within easy walking distance from the buildings.

The thing my DD remembers best is that the maid would set up fun things for her to find in the room when we returned from the parks. Such as; her stuffed dog, wearing flippers and snorkeling mask, sitting by the sink with a towel thrown over his shoulder. This made having to go back to the resort each day a fun experience.

Where ever you stay I'm sure you will have the time of your life!! I'm going back for the 7th time on March 31st!! Can't wait!:earsgirl:

Gov't employee, teacher, or nurse the Swan and Dolphin's 129 per night rate is hard to beat considering the easy walk to the Boardwalk, Epcot, and MGM.

CBR is my favorite moderate resort. :) I don't think you'll be disappointed. It's very nice. :)

Thank everyone for your input! I went wdwig.com and looked at the photos and decided.......to change to POR! LOL The ppl at CRO are probably growing tired of me. I REALLY fell in love with the Mansion look-Is it easy to get around? Definately sticking to this resort.......UNLESS another code comes out! LOL:p
