SO confused about PIN codes-please help a Newbie out!!

I'm sorry, we have been to WDW so many times but I have never heard of PIN codes before I started reading this board. I can't figure out if it will apply to us or not. Our plan is to book a package once they come out on July 10 for a trip March 9-14, 2014. We are a family of 4 ("kids" 20 and 16). Should I call and ask about a PIN or will it not apply since March is a busy season for Disney. Thanks so much!!

PINs are not the same as Public discounts, AP discounts... PIN's (usually a 16 digit code) are not avalable to everyone. Disney will randomly mail or email out PINs to people and will randomly attach a PIN to customers in their database and in this case the only way to find out is to call and ask.

Just curious and this may sound really dumb but if you've never been is it likely that there is a PIN attached to your name if you call?

I think it's possible. As long as you've signed up on the WDW website for emails and even have an account there. Order Maps, Order a planning dvd etc. These all put you in the system. I don't think actually staying makes much of a difference. In fact, it seems some report the more they stay the less often they have gotten pins?! The PINs are a weird magical creature that is like the lottery. Just enter everywhere and hope you're chosen Call and check, it cannot hurt.

There are no pins that go out as far as March 2014 yet. The current one is from Oct- Dec 2013. But keep an eye out and definitely call and check if you hear any word that someone has received one for early 2014.
