So, Cali experts..what do we pack?

We are going in early December also. Being form Az we will need our winter jackets. So the cool mornings and nights will most likely be cooler than we are use to. No shorts for us.

For the first week in December?

Being from Utah, we're used to having to wear warm at this point (Cuz for us there's usually a foot of snow on the ground).

We'll be gone for 7 days and I'm having a tough time thinking about how to keep our baggage under 50 lbs with winterwear for 2 kids haha.

Are we talking..coats, or sweatshirts?

I went in Dec last year, and we wore sweatshirts, and long pants. It's still pretty warm in Dec in LA. Don't overpack with hats, coats, gloves etc. If you get hit with sudden cold weather there is a Target down the street you can get cheaper stuff than what they sell at Disney. I would say pack like an early Fall not a full blown Winter

Emmers, one of the other things I figured out for packing is to take your kids clothes and roll them up. I did this with my 3 younger boys, put underwear, socks and shirt together and then rolled them up. This way when it was time to get dressed they just chose what shirt they wanted to wear. My sister did the same kind of thing for her kids when she went to Texas. Only she put her girls things in a ziploc bag and included any cute hair things in there so she wouldn't have to try to find the matching ones. It makes packing for the plane ride so much easier. You can really fit so much more in the suitcase!

We have also been to DLR when there was a little rain. It was so nice. It was in Mid October and one of the days there were clouds and spotty rain. Sometimes it was a little heavy and then it cleared up and was warm and then it rained again. It wasn't bad at all. Not like PP when it poured!!

and that does sound pretty pleasant! My friend said it's sorta weird to live in Cali because it's mild, yes, but what kind of mild is the question LOL

I don't know if you've already thought of this one but since you are flying you might want to pack a little bit of clothes for everyone in each suitcase in case a suitcase gets lost on the way.

We did the Ziploc baggie thing last year for the first time, and it made things SO much easier! I packed one outfit for each day, including socks, underwear, and matching hair tyes for dd (obviously not for the boys, lol), and then made a label for each one that said, "Jacob is wearing this on Tuesday", etc. That way, if I needed my husband to help, he didn't have to think, hahahaa! (seriously though, when it comes to dressing the kids, my husband couldn't possibly put them in matching outfits unless he has this kind of detailed instruction, it's pathetic. sometimes I think he does it really bad on purpose? I mean, what other explanation could their be?) Also, only one of my children were not reading at that point, so the older kids (who were 6 and 9 last summer) could also get out their own clothes for each particular day as well because they could read the labels themselves.

It took a lot of time to get it done, but it saved SOOO much time while we were actually on vacation. Plus, I avoided overpacking (which I used to be famous for). This year, I'm going to cut up fabric dryer sheets too, and stick a small strip inside each ziploc bag to keep everything smelling nice!
