So Cal Summer Fun Pass Question

Southern California residents... hoping you can answer a question. My husband and I are treating my college age brother (who lives in Southern California) to a trip to Disneyland and we want to get him the summer fun pass.

HOWEVER... I tried to buy him the ticket online but it wouldn't let me because MY billing address is not in So cal. What can i do? Can I buy him the special ticket at the gate?? Am I not allowed to buy the ticket for him?

Is he going to be with you at the gate?

If so, they might just want to see his ID to make sure he is so Cal. However, they should let you buy the ticket no problem. You should be able to work it out.

They certainly do sell this ticket at the gates.

They sell the summer fun pass at the local markets. Vons, Ralphs, Albertsons and probably many others. you can pick one up there, you won't be asked for ID when you get to the park. But...if you buy it at the ticket booths they WILL ask you to verify where you live.

I know, it makes no sense, I guess they don't figure people on vacation from out of town are going to think of buying a ticket at the supermarket.

Just one tip: You mentioned "college age brother.". If he is indeed going to college in So Cal, does he have a So. cal. i'd. I know many collaEge students never get a local ID. To get the So Cal pass at the gate he must show an ID with a So Cal zip code.

It does not need a zip code. Any ID for a Southern California college/university is fine.

newbie here but just wanted to mention I am NOT a so cal resident and had a so cal resident friend of mine buy my passes for me and while I was present with him to buy the passes, they did not once ask for ID or even ask where he lived. I could have gotten them myself lol.

Yeah - he does have an actual California ID... he is in college there but actually moved there completely as well. So no matter if they are checking or not we should be in good shape. Thanks to everyone for the reassurance.
