Hi everyone

I was supposed to make my online ADRs at work today but couldnt as Travelcity Direct couldnt give me my WDW confirmation number.

I got angry and stated that they should not market themselves as Florida specislists as they clearly have no idea of the ADR system.

I am on my way home from work now & will ring WDW Dine but no doubt the popular bookings I wanted will be taken now.

I just cant understand why TCD dont already have my confirmation number, its made me very suspicious and when i asked 3 times to speak to a supervisor or manager the call handler wouldnt allow it.

I will never book with TCD again,in fact i booked our last trip DIY last year and only used TCD as we are getting married in Florida too & just wanted to make it easier for myself.

Has anyone else experienced this? Do you think i should make a complaint?

At one point i was told i was 'abusing' the call handler which is utter rubbish!

I was also told they would call me back with a reason as to why i cant have my WDW confirmation number but surprise surprise this hasnt happened

I feel really annoyed and upset about something which should be exciting and would appreciate peoples comments

Thanks

Louise

Take a deep breath. You are going to be fine. Since you are going in September it is not as busy as it could have been at other times and since the ADR system switched from 90 days back to 180 over a year ago it is nowhere near as hard to get the ones you want.

Let us know how it goes. There may be the odd ones you have to compromise your chosen time, but I think you may be pleasantly surprised. I don't suppose you have time to stop at Asda and pick up a bottle of wine on the way now .... ;)

Sort your ADRs, let us celebrate with you and then we can discuss the negatives.

I dont think you need your confirmation number from them. I have always booked my vacations through AAA and their confirmation number does not corespond with Disneys. When I make my ADR's it asks what hotel I am staying at and I dont need a confirmation number. I have used free dining the last 4 visits as well. So try without it you may be surprised!!

I think you can book in advance even if you are not staying on Disney property so I'm not sure why would you need a confirmation number?

I must admit we always stay on property so I've not tested this in person. I am hoping it works though as I am making ADRs for my friend in March and they are staying off property.

I've never had the problem in the past getting the disney reservation number so that you can book at 180 days plus 10 but I haven't been able to get one from Virgin or Disney yet. I know my ADR date is still eight weeks away so I'm not panicking yet but would like you prefer to book online than by phone to USA. :goodvibes:

I've booked via VH but to get my 12 digit number to book ADRs online, I emailed Disney at wdw.drc.wdtc.uk@disney.com.

I basically said I was writing to request my 12 digit number so I could book my ADRs when the time came and provided my name, VH reference number, date arriving, how long for and resort. I didn't know if that was all needed but a day or so later I got an email back with the number, no problems. The cast member put their name as 'September' - lovely seeing as we're going in September! :thumbsup2

Maybe you could try that? :goodvibes

The problem can be with UK booking agents, sometimes they do block bookings with no names until a few weeks from travelling. This means Disney won't have a reservation just a booking of say 20 rooms to TCD. Meaning no link to ADR's.
Not sure how TCD work.

You can book at 180 days without a ressie but having the ressie allows you to book 10 days at once & attach to your hotel reservation, not end of world if you cant do it but very annoying if you can't, as OP points out they say they are specialists.

We booked via complete orlando last year for our Aug'11 holiday, and within a week of our booking they sent me an email with my 12 digit ADR.
Everything went like clockwork and I made my ADRs online last month- so not all UK booking agents are the same, and some more reliable than others.

Did you manage okay Louise? I did notice that it is a wedding trip so it is understandable that this was stressful for you. Please let us know how you get on with your ressies. For future reference, or if this ever happens to anyone else, rather than fight it out when there is no sign of winning wth the TA, just end the call and phone Disney dining. They should be able to find your reservation number for you with all your details. It will take some time over the phone, but it certainly won't take all day.

Hi everyone

Thanks so much for the replies, in response to a few queries that have come up - you need the WDW confirmation number in order to make the first 10 days of your trips ADR's which is why I was onkly able to book an ADR for the first day of our trip.

Anyway, when I got home I thought I would try TCD again and this time I was put through to a supevisor without even asking who was very nice and rang me back very quickly with the WDW confirmation number :)

I then rang WDW Dine and made ALL the ADRs I wanted - yay!!!!

We got Le Cellier and California Grille no problem at all

So I am now happy and relaxed once again (but will still DIY next time and not go through an agent)

Thanks for everyones replies

I've just emailed Disney and they have replied saying that I must go through my travel agent as they can't deal with my request:confused3

Glad you sorted it louise. We went septmeber last year and I didnt book till april time (my ADRS) and the only one I didnt get was mama melrose fantasmic package.Im glad you sorted it out.Something else done out the way. Sometimes it depends who you speak to.We have all on here had our fair share of halfwits who pretend to know what they are on about and really know didley squatt:confused3.Iv always sworn by DIY but have found myself booking my flights and disney hotel of 5 nights with CO.They offered a great flight price for us with VA and are holding it till friday(phoned again today to check:rotfl:)Never say never though it does leave a nasty taste when things dont go as we planned.:thumbsup2

when i rang up disney uk to get my adr number. they asked me for my oringal res number so they could get my adr one. the number i used was not 12 digits. i think it was six. still worked.
Igot emails from disney to confirm my reservations. silly phone wont let me type properly grrrr. so did i need a 12 digit or not?

No, not for ADRs. You need a US reservation number and they come in 2 formats, one of which is 12 digit and the other (the one I assume you have) which is alphanumerical. BOTH work for ADRs.

Hmm, I'm a bit confused with this, I booked some ADR's just last night, and I didn't use any kind of confirmation number?

You only need it for ADRs you book that are more than 180 days away from the day on which you make them. So if your 180 day window opens today and you make and ADR for that day, the system doesn't need a confirmation number.
