So about this Hurricane - 10/7 Dream cancelled, 10/7 Magic Canadian, 10/8 now 10/9 Fantasy 6-night

This was just signed into effect so it would not effect those who are on board the boat now since they are in the water and this pertains to land.

So which cruise(s) are you saying are a no go, Friday Dream and Saturday Fantasy?

Looks there will be no cruise as they have declaired a state of emergency for the entire state of Florida and the excutive order was just signed
IALEAH, Fla. —Gov. Rick Scott on Monday visited the City of Hialeah Emergency Operations Center to meet with emergency management officials as the state prepares for Hurricane Matthew, a life-threatening Category 4 storm.

Scott signed Executive Order 16-230 declaring a state of emergency for every Florida county due to the severity and magnitude of Hurricane Matthew.

Scott said, "Hurricane Matthew is a life-threatening Category 4 hurricane and we must all take it seriously. If Hurricane Matthew directly impacts Florida, there could be massive destruction which we haven't seen since Hurricane Andrew devastated Miami-Dade County in 1992. That is why we cannot delay and must prepare for direct impact now. Today, I signed an Executive Order declaring a state of emergency in every Florida county to ensure we have resources for evacuations, sheltering and other logistical needs across our state. We are preparing for the worst, but hoping for the best and we will not take any chances to ensure our state is prepared.

A state of emergency doesn't automatically cancel a cruise though. It just helps the state start certain staging and planning activities. This thing can change so much as it crosses land- those mountainous islands have a history of shredding storms. Its still way too early to say they are going to cancel a cruise.

A state of emergency is a government action to allow resources (money, people, support items) to be prepositioned. It has no impact on whether a cruise operator determines what to do with a ship. There are plenty of instances where there was a declared state of emergency, and the cruise schedules went on as normal.

We are on the Bahamian cruise that leaves Friday from NYC. Looks like it will be an adventure! Who knows where we will go!

I live in Orlando and just watched the weather report. It now looks like the hurricane will pass by Miami Thursday 2pm and by Jacksonville Friday at 2pm. Port Canaveral is between these two points. It will be interesting to see if the Dream can get into Port on time Friday morning.
Looks like Castaway Cay will get slammed.

That is good news - I am so glad they make sure everyone is safe. Still too soon to know exactly where this storm is going to go over the next few days so we'll have to wait and see. FWIW, I was in Hawaii last month when TWO storms were within spitting distance and we were on hurricane watch for both. They both trended away at the last minute and all we got was a tiny bit of rain. Fingers crossed this one stays out at sea too!

Might as well start something interesting. Where will Magic go? Back to Canada? Bermuda? Not sure if we got to the Bahamas any ports would be open due to the massive storm. Cruise to nowhere, 8 sea days? Love to hear ideas since I'm guessing we won't hear anything till Thursday.

Back when Hurricane Jeanne hit Port Canaveral the ship could not dock so instead of leaving on a Saturday the ship left on a Monday from Ft. Lauderdale. We were actually on our way to the port Friday afternoon when we heard that the port was closed. We happened to be near WDW so we pulled and got a room at the Poly to ride out the storm. DCL bused us down to Ft. Lauderdale to meet the ship. Both the Magic and Wonder were in Ft. Lauderdale. The previous cruise to ours spent extra days out at sea. Our cruise was shortened to a five day from a seven day. We were compensated.

So glad to hear this! We just got off the Dream last Friday, and hubby and I were concerned for their safety.

The latest model runs have it within 30 miles of Port Canaveral on Friday, nothing is going or coming out of there if that's the case. They'll probably wind up going to Tampa, but too soon to tell. Judging by that forecast track (and intensity) there's a good chance the Bahamas will be out of commission for several weeks for cruises. The private islands may be decimated. So no idea what will happen if that occurs, lots of crazy reroutes and disruptions.

Majesty is going to Freeport tomorrow and then Key West it seems, it probably won't return to Port Canaveral. I could see them actually doing a departure at Miami, Tampa, or Key west itself though.

Really it's anyone's guess. I don't think they've had a storm with this track and intensity in recent times.

Probably needed the extra time to "batten down the hatches" on Castaway. This isn't the first hurricane that's hit CC so you know DCL has a standard procedure for securing the stuff on the island before they pull the crew. Hopefully whatever their procedure is it will mitigate any damage. Wouldn't surprise me if they loaded a bunch of transportable stuff on the Dream. If it's not there, it won't get messed up.

As stated, the Dream is too large to port at Tampa or at Key West. Not sure where that means she will go. It could mean they will get an extra day at sea (shortening the following cruise).

Yes, they loaded a lot on the ship and the CMs looked like a bunch of worker bees swarming the island to secure everything.
