Snowmedic's Trip Report 2014

Well let me start off by saying that we have arrived after spending 6 days at the beautiful beaches of Destin Fl. and after a long 7 hr. drive we pulled into the Fort at 3:30 pm.

We got to reception and the nice lady handed us our packet and with fingers crossed, hoping for 1500, got 2016 . But at least it is the Fort. Driving to our site, we noticed the overflow lot was, overflowing. Down by the hitch - unhitch area they set up parking for people going to Hoop Dee Do. We also noticed a LOT of golf carts. Some people must forget how to drive, cause a lot of them where running stop signs and not watching were they are going.

When we got to the 2000 loop, there are 2 cars per site, some parked on the road, and some people have 2 -3 or more carts per site. I know that the 2000 loops is a partial tent, pup loop, but they must have run out of room, there are at least 3 TT parked here.

Got site set up and went to the trails end for GAG, It was a mad house. We placed our order and payed, got our meal and caught the bus back to the loop. (we got the 10 pc. mixed meat, mac n cheese, mashed w/gravy and cornbread). The only thing I didn't do is check my bag for everything, got back to camp and DW said, they forgot our mashed w/gravy. I told her I was not waiting for more buses to go and complain. So I blew it off and we had a good meal anyway.

Just got done listening to the Electric light parade and the fireworks. Going to go to the beach tomorrow to watch.

I have my DIS sign out in front of our site, if any one wants to stop by. If the car is gone, so are we. but keep trying, early morning before 8:30 or at night around 8.

Snowmedic you should have seen it here the past 3 days it was a total madhouse and chaotic today is quiet compared to that. Plus way more golf carts, a lot of people left today and my loop 500 a lot have already packed up Halloween decorations. We leave on Monday. Have a magical stay

Glad you made it in safe Medic. Maybe things will clear up a little bit over the next few days as the Halloween crowd dies down.

Was just thinking that it is a good thing we are from up north, It is cold out here. Got down to 45 last night and tonight is the same. But going to warm up for tomorrow night.

Just got back from Down town Disney, took the 2 DD's to get lanyards but they didn't have the ones they wanted, so off to more shops in the morning. Went swimming earlier tonight, around 5 I would say, and there were only 6 other people swimming or soaking in the hot tub. The water felt good compared to the air temp.

Went to the trading post, and they had this mug, plastic for 16.95

2000 loop cleared out pretty much today, (thanks NoM). Going to go to Universal tomorrow, and hoping to catch the EWP tomorrow night.

Didn't get to post yesterday, so this is a catch up day. We did end up going to Universal yesterday. Yesterday was a good water ride day, got soaked from head to toe. After Universal we came back and went swimming, the pool had a couple more people in it than the night before, not bad, maybe 20 people there.
Didn't make it the EWP, but we will get there.

Someone must have mentioned to a CM that the comfort stations did not look after midnight. I don't know what they did, but the mens room was looked until about 10 am.

Today we were able to sleep in, got up and I made breakfast (DW is on vacation from cooking and cleaning while we camp) then we headed out for Aquatica. Spent all day there, then when we came back we took the small boat over to Wilderness lodge to check it out. They are still doing some pool refurbishments from what I could see. It is a beautiful place, but we like the Fort better. Was going to take the trail back but it was dark, so we took the boat again.

Seen another vehicle in the 2000 loop from VT. 45 min. from where we live. Will have to stop by and say hi.

Sounds like fun Snowmedic. I tried to be one of those people in the hot tub yesterday and the day before. Maybe today I will get to the pool for a swim before the rest get here.

Tina, I don't have any pics yet, I will post some tonight. Don't know how from iPhone, but all my pics are from computer, as for staying warm, the first two nights were cold, but we brought extra blankets with us. DD 6 got too cold Sunday night, curled up with mom and dad about 1:30 then DD 15 stole her blankets to wa up, the rest of the nights have been perfect.

Following along reading. I will arrive next Wednesday. Sure hope it warms up by then. Like you, I am from the North - Massachusetts - although Vermont is generally colder than us.
With the Halloween crowd gone, hope you are relaxing and enjoying your trip.

If anyone or if you know anyone interested, I bought the wrong coffee the other day. I picked up Folgers filter packs, they won't work for my needs. They are individual packs and I have 9 left, I would rather give away than throw. I am in site 2016 if interested, or I can bring them by.

I'm an only coffee drinker, so I use a smaller 4 cup coffee maker. Will they fit that? If so I'll take them when I get there on the 14th.

I'm sure they will fit. I used one and held it over my cup while pouring hot water over it. I will hold them for ya Tigerdad.
