Snowmageddon!

No snow here yet but it's supposed to start any minute. They're calling for about a foot of snow overnight.

My kids are disappointed because they already have the day off school tomorrow for a PA day. They were really hoping for a snow day!

I am sooooo looking forward to our Magic cruise next month....only 5 more weeks.

Stay safe everyone.

In south burbs of Chicago and it is hitting us bad at the moment. As I type, my windows are rattling and my whole house keeps making noises. The wind is fierce! :scared1: Supposed to have 40-50 MPH winds with lightening and thunder later tonight. I am a teacher and we were dismissed early today and school has already been called off tomorrow. This is a full-blown BLIZZARD!! Parts of Lakeshore Drive have been closed too....fear of the lake flooding.

Good luck to those of you attempting to travel/get out to the airports for your trips. Take care and stay safe everyone.

Eck! While I'm typing the wind is so bad our house is shaking! Our patio furniture has blown into the neighbors yard (asked DH why he is not going to get it! :rotfl2:) and the drifts are about 3 feet high! You should have seen our dog do a face plant when she went out! I just hope we don't loose power...

Just outside of Omaha on the southwest side of the metro. Started with unexpected ice yesterday, have about 6 inches of snow - but the winds are blowing it so badly that you can't tell how much we really got. Black ice everywhere - schools are closed tomorrow after being closed today (and my sons' school closed early Monday to boot). Hope everyone who's trying to make it to their cruise in the next few days is successful!

I don't think there's anything more wicked then black ice! Stay safe.

Very windy and lots of blowing snow here in the North suburbs. Lost power and internet temporarily while booking Palo reservation. Now the website says my reservation is in use by another party. Oh, well. I'll try again later. :headache:

Stay safe everybody.

Sleet all night, snow flurries all day- ice and snow didn't melt today. Mid teens today- supposed to be high of 9 tomorrow.
Sounds like no big deal, right?
Um.... this is Texas. And not the part of Texas that usually gets a lot of snow like over in Lubbock area. NO. DFW area. We are so not prepared. LOL I think we each own like maybe... 2 long sleeved shirts each. Maybe. I think the kids might have outgrown one or both of theirs. :lmao:
But worst is no one knows how to drive in this mess. I'm playing hermit... and ride it out. LOL

I think we're done with the snow, but now we're in a wind chill warning. School is already closed for Wednesday---for the THIRD day in a row! Something like -40 to -50 windchills. But even my teens are ready to go back to school after so many days off. Appropriately enough, this was to be "Snow Week" at the high school. And now they have missed three days of that celebration!

Dreaming of CC and will be there in two months!

Man,this is getting crazy! I was born and raised in Mpls/Bloomington and I only remember having 1 snow day the entire time i was in school.

Well here in the Chicago area we are bracing for what is being called "Snowmageddon". One to two FEET of snow from now until tomorrow...man, I wish I was on the Dream, even if the water at Castaway Cay are cold!! Just wondering what other DIS'ers are getting Snowmageddon!? Ugh! September can't get here soon enough!:yay:

We are going on our first cruise ever in September! We are snowed in today. I wish it was time for our Disney World trip or our cruise trip. I sooo want to move to FL.

I'm snowed in today too. The plows are just now getting into our neighborhood. So I have the Disney Channel movie marathon on while I'm wishing I was at WDW or on the Dream.

I just hope that they don't call another day off of school tomorrow b/c the make-up days at the end of the school year are going to start creeping toward the start of my WDW trip in June. :sad1:
