Rick, what a fabulous picture!!

Thanks, all, for the prayers for my friend's baby. He was whisked off to a NICU at a different hospital (this was expected) and it was quite awhile before she and her husband were allowed to see him. There haven't been any more updates, but I suspect because she's with her little guy, as much as possible.

Shelly-red, don't blame me, blame the WEATHER! I got back to work yesterday and said, yeah, sinus infection, and was greeted with a chorus of "ugh, I'm sick, too!" It's like some sort of out of season upper respiratory plague is traveling around the country right now!

On the upside, I'm WAY better than Wednesday & Thursday, so I'm going to be healthier going in to the weekend. What a FABULOUS change from the norm!!

You want rain Shawna? We got rain!!! For about 24 hours straight we had rain! OY! My sinuses hurt so bad I can barely see! Why did I come to work? On the bright side, I haven't run my a/c in a couple weeks at least! And I have not turned on the heat yet!! Love this time of year!

Rick - That was beautiful!! Of course I got all teary, but how cool!! Great picture of your family! I just heard this a.m. about the promotion. You are way more on top of it than me.

I'm really glad that Disney picked the photo. Joni was having a great day when that photo was taken. And as a lot of you know, you have to enjoy the good days with cancer/treatments when you can because they don't happen often. Also, the boy with the glasses on is our Cousin. His Mom (my Aunt) passed away the previous summer and it was his first visit ever, so he and Joni were both smiles from ear to ear.

Oh RICK!!! :thumbsup2 THAT is what the "Memories" promotion is ALL about!!! I cried like a baby just looking at that beautiful picture of you and your family!!! So nice to finally be able to put a face to a name! She was a beautiful woman!! I am so glad that you have another special Memory!! :goodvibes

What you can't tell from the photo is that Joni's hair (which was always straight) was curly. When she changed her chemo up in late 2009 her hair grew back so curly she couldn't believe it, just these beautiful loose full curls. Of course when she had her brain surgery in March it came back straight again, she so was bummed! She said people pay a lot of money for perms like that, and I got one for free!!!;)

:) I have heard that about changes in hair texture after treatment. I bet it looked gorgeous! It's nice that she had a sense of humor about it!
Again, Rick - thank you for sharing more memories with us.

LOVE that!

Happy weekend everyone. I have a 3 day weekend! Tomorrow morning my mom and I are going to walk down to Oktoberfest for a little while to do some shopping at all the craft booths. Then hanging out with a friend for her son's soccer tournament. Other than that, no big plans for the weekend....rather excited about that!:woohoo:

Well, I have a cold. Or a sinus infection. Or a head cold that landed in my sinuses. Whatever & bah humbug!

There's NOT much to say here, except that one of my friends - I've known her since we were 8 and went to church together as kids - gave birth last night to a little boy! He's pretty small, because he was about a month premature, at just over 4lbs.

However, the exciting part is that he's alive. He's in a NICU in Boston but, prior to that, the doctors had informed my friend that there was a 75-80% chance he would NOT survive delivery. I'd say he beat THOSE odds and he's probably not out of the woods yet, but he cleared the first hurdle. I've been praying like mad for my friend and her husband so I am BESIDE myself with joy. Puts the whole "sinus infection head pain" into perspective!!

Hope your feeling better!!! I can tell you from first hand experience that those doctors in Boston are amazing... we have our Maggie thanks to them... she was at Childrens Hospital for about a month (many birth complications)... they are FABULOUS!!! We will keep all of them in our prayers....

Hey there everyone, a pretty cool thing happened yesterday. You all know that Disney has a new promotion for 2011 called "Let the Memories Begin". We submitted a memory of Joni and Disney has posted it on their website!!! Cool stuff. I look like a**, but Joni was feeling good and smiling so that's all that matters. It's at http://memories.disneyparks.disney.go.com/#/detail/396. You might have to refresh if the photo doesn't load. Everyone have a good weekend!

Rick... what a wonderful photo of your family... I am so glad Disney chose Joni and your family to be part of their new promotion

Well...hope you are all having a good weekend...either doing some fun things, or the best: absolutely NOTHING!!! LOL!!! I just have to say that I am trying to be patient as we wait for this first BIG cool front of the Autumn!! It's gonna be in the 80-90s again today and tomorrow...then after the rain, I thought it was gonna be 65 at night, but Mon night is like 62 and Tues night should be in the 50s!!!!!!!:yay: Haaaallllllellluuuuuujaaaahhhh!!!!! Boys are mowning, Mikes speaking at a men's get-together for our church---they are fishing at the beach,....then the kids are going to swim(the days of warm pool water are numbered!!!)...then I have a baby shower at noon..... then I am not sure what!! Well...dd just came in and said the water is freeeezing..so hmmmm.....
I need to work on my Disney lists...

7 WEEKS to go!:yay::cheer2:

Oh how the weather is different in Texas than in Minnesota!! Our highs this week have been in the low 60s and RAIN!!! Lots of flooding in southern MN. But it's going to be in the 70s again next week!! YAY! I will have to get outside and do some gardening. We have to cut back and dig up a lot of stuff in fall. Might plant some more bulbs too.

We don't have much scheduled this weekend either. I have to coach a volleyball game at noon (I know, breaks up my day!) and that's it for today. We are going to look at a 1.5 million dollar house on the parade of homes just for kicks. Tomorrow Dave will be gone all day working the Vikings game. I'll probably find something to do around here. (like maybe update my TR!!??) I'd like to do some more purging of "stuff". Paige has been trying pants on all week - she doesn't think hardly ANY of them fit!! Many are too short, but she's rather, um, particular about how things fit, so it's a challenge. Might have yet another shopping trip in my future.

I'm hoping to get to do a little shopping anyway - I need shoes! Plus I have to get a few groceries - I want to make banana bread and don't have all the ingredients.
Tonight might be a good night for a movie. Last night I was flipping channels and watched some of Legally Blonde and Forrest Gump. That was fun!
Okay - enough rambling! Have a great weekend everyone!

It's Monday!! (Insert fake excitement here)

We had a great weekend camping. I'm still battling this darn head cold so it was mainly a relaxing weekend for us. Emily is stuffy now too so on Saturday we sat inside the camper and watched Mary Poppins. She was asleep for most of it but Andrew and I watched it. :goodvibes What can I say, we like to rough it when camping- toilet, running water and TV/DVD player. We're going 2 more weekends next month and then our little camper will be all closed up for the winter. At least I have a good hiding place for Christmas gifts. ;)

Rick that is beautiful, just beautiful! Joni looks so happy in that picture! Thanks for sharing!

Kim!! How fun!! I would TOTALLY be watching MP on a camping trip!!! LOL Hope you are on the mend soon--and little Em too!! That is a yucky way to feel...when I get it I am just soooo exhausted! And I think that's the worst part of it.
We went to see the new movie You Again last night...you should all go watch it!! I was laughing soooo hard!!!! It was really good-couple of tiny little things that you might catch but your kids def wouldn't...we were rolling!!! You know...everybody has that somebody from High school that if they walked in right now and were to be part of your family, it would make you want to jump out of a window? Well, thats what is happening to this poor girl and it is hysterical!!!!! Hope you all have a great week ahead....I can def feel the change in the air outside...lots cooler and even moreso tonight!!!!!Fall is here-just hope it stays and we don't get an Indian summer!!!

Happy Monday Morning Snowbirds

Well, it's a happy Monday morning here because I didn't get called into work!! No seriously, I love my job, but Monday's are rough and I always get called in on Mondays! So I am enjoying a day of laundry and DISing. :goodvibes I can finally get caught up on my own PTR! :upsidedow

Our weather has been crazy for the end of September. Friday it was nearly 90 degrees and we were running the AC. And now we will be lucky if we hit 60! I'm hoping the house will hold the warmth a little longer and I won't have to turn on the heat.

40 DAYS until Disney!! :dance3:

Netflix Starz plays has The Princess & the Frog on it right now. I had wanted to watch it since I first noticed, but I was waiting for Logan to not be around, because I thought he wouldn't be interested and for me to have 90 minutes to commit. (I usually turn on something shorter while feeding the baby...)
Well, on Saturday Logan was going out for a run, and I had finished cleaning the house, because the in-laws were coming. I scrolled over to it, and Logan says "You're watching that...aww man." He wanted to watch it with me! He loves Raymond the Firefly.

Anyways...the in-laws were here this weekend. We mostly just sat around while they held the baby. We took them to see the base yesterday, so I got to show off my stroller. My MIL was impressed, which was good because she had made some comments about strollers before while I was doing my research. I think she thought it was silly for me to spend a lot of money on one when I could just get an umbrella stroller for cheap.
Of course the stroller I picked out is awesome though and she had to agree.

Logan is supposed to get his re-cut orders today, so I might be able to convince him to let me at least book a room. We shall see. He still doesn't want to spend the money, but my argument is, if we plan on being out of here by the end of October, then we'll have to spend the 2 weeks, after he's done with his class, getting everything ready to go. Then, we'll be staying with people for the next 2 weeks, which isn't conducive to family bonding time.
I did figure out the other day that even with a discount we'll be paying the same amount per night for a Moderate as we did for AKL for our Honeymoon. Silly Disney seasons. I think it will be worth it, especially since we can't say that we'll just wait until Value season, but its still frustrating.

That's so encouraging! Thanks!! :thumbsup2

Well, it turns out that I have an official bacterial sinus infection. My coworker, who thinks she has a sinus infection, probably has pneumonia. I'm going to blame this on the college students. She got it from them. I got it from her. Oh well. Hopefully, I'll start feeling better ASAP.

Did y'all see the news about the Southwest/AirTran "merger"? I'm a little concerned, because AirTran's two big routes from Detroit (Atlanta and Orlando) are what helps keep the prices down. Southwest doesn't fly direct from here, unless I'm going to Baltimore or Midway.... and it's less of a merger and more of Southwest eating AirTran. Maybe i'll be wrong and SWA will expand their Detroit offerings!!

I got that email this morning. I'm not happy. I used to get great rates with SW from PIT to MCO. But not in the past several years. Ever since the other airlines started charging baggage fees, it seems that SW has jacked their rates so that they are able to say that they don't charge baggage fees. :sad2: AT rates are much lower for us even after paying baggage fees, plus they offer better (and more) flight times. And as of right now SW and AT are the only ones that fly non-stop to MCO from here. I agree, it sounds like SW is eating up AT and now SW is going to be our only option for non-stop.
