Good morning everyone! I haven't been on here since before Christmas, so I hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Years (and if you celebrate something else, I hope that was good, too! :thumbsup2)

It was awfully hard to get moving today. Besides the bitter cold temperatures (I mean, if we're going to have temps in the single digits, I'd really like some snow to accompany it!!), I had to come back to work today - 1st time since before Christmas. I'm not adjusting very well to dress shoes (give me back my mammoth crocs :lmao:). Plus, this is the first time in a few years we don't have a Disney trip planned. Although, I had some encouraging news over the break....we're going to try to visit my mom in sunny California over spring break and DH said if we do we can make a short visit to Disneyland!!! WHOOHOO!! I don't care if I only get one day there...I'll take it! I'm having some serious Mickey withdrawal. :rotfl: Here's hoping we can find good airfare prices.

Major Mickey withdrawals here too!! I can't believe it's been almost a year since our last trip, and not one in sight! Booo!
We are planning a caribbean cruise for July 4th, but I'm not near as excited about it because 1-it will be with my mom, step dad and most of his family (not that I don't like them, but it kind of leads to number 2-hubby doesn't want to go. At all. Mainly because of number 1 :confused3, but also, he just has never had any desire to go on a cruise. I'm sure I could get him to go on a Disney cruise because, well, it's Disney and he's a lover of all things Disney, but no so much a lover of my parents. :sad2:
So that puts a damper on the excitement of planning, which I normally LOVE! I'm looking forward to the kids' first time on the beach (other than CBR :rotfl:). Everyone else is getting antsy to book our flights, so I've been checking on airfare. Anyone ever flown to San Juan??

Has your hubby ever been on a cruise before?
If not, I think he'll be pleasantly surprised. Also, you don't have to spend all your time with the people you are cruising with.
I'm hoping to take my DH on a cruise at some point, but I'm worried he'll get seasick.
I'm having Mickey withdrawals as well. Last night someone on here asked a question about which resort they should stay in. They said their budget was $6000 for 5 people. I went ahead and priced it for them, and was a bit jealous. Ultimately I told them they should use the current room discount and stay at Bay Lake Towers. The only thing I'm not sure about is what they needed to include in their budget, because I didn't include airfare.

I've talked to my sister about maybe driving down to Disney when we're visiting them, but we've decided that we'll wait to see how we're all feeling and it will be a last minute trip. Right now I have all day nausea, because of my pregnancy, and I'm not sure how I'll feel in February or March.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, all!!

My friend - the one who travels with me to Disney - got me Toy Story Mania for my birthday!! UPS dropped it off, right as we were getting ready to leave the house so I haven't had a chance to play with it yet. But I'm pretty excited!!

Sarah - hope your b-day was fabulous! Have fun with the new game!

Jenny - I feel your pain. I just went on a cruise with in-laws, and you definitely don't have to be together much. We sure weren't! I think if you do some research into some activities/beaches/shore excursions that your DH will really like, he might get more excited about the idea. I know my DH doesn't love, love.love my parents either and probably wouldn't want to go on another trip with them (the kids' first trip to WDW was also my parents' first). But on a cruise there are so many things to do and they don't all appeal to everyone. Just assure him that there will be plenty of separate time. Good luck!! Too bad it's not a Disney cruise. I highly recommend those!!

Good morning Snowbirds! :cool1::cool1::banana::banana:
I haven't been around since before Christmas--glad to hear everyone had a great holiday. We did too! We also finally got a Wii and the boys have been playing Mario Kart nonstop. I think I might ask for Toy Story Mania for my birthday. :thumbsup2

Belated birthday wishes, Sarah! Hope your recovery continues smoothly and it will soon all be a distant memory!

My DD turned 2 on Monday! princess: Ah, they grow up so fast.

Now it's time to start planning for our Disneyland Paris trip at the end of March! :yay: We actually took a quick trip to Paris last weekend--drove down on Jan 1 and home the next day--it was fun (but very COLD!), but I was a little sad to be so close and not visit Mickey!

Now I need to go get caught up on Shelly's, Shawna's, and Sheree's trip reports! :surfweb: Have a great Disney day, everyone!

Good morning Snowbirds from chilly and snowy central NY... I have missed you all.. it has been a very busy few months and I am just getting back to the boards...

Christmas was wonderful... Thanksgiving also... Maggie is home from school, Daniel is great, my husband started a new job and loves it, I had a great year in real estate... for the most part life is good... with the exception that Tims dad was diagnosed with bone cancer.... we are still learning of how far it has spread but the outlook is not good... he is a wonderful man....

I hope you all had a great holiday and life is good... we are looking forward to our trip in February... my DS girl friends family invted themsleves along on our trip..lol.. we really dont mind cause they are great people... but it did require me changing some of or dining plans... so before I go and cancel these reservations I thought I would see if any snowbirds wanted them...

... the first is for LeCellier on Feb16th at 6pm party of 3 and the second is for O'Hanas on Feb 18th at 6:20pm for 3 you can email me at tdunniga@twcny.rr.com and I can send you the confirmation numbers....

becuase they aren't arriving until Feb 15th I didn't have to change our anniverary dinner (not sure that I would have anyway)... I am surprising my hubby and we are going to Victoria and Alberts for dinner... we will be married 24 years on Valentines Day... was so excited to get the reservation....

thats all for now... time to go shovel... again...

Hi Wendy! :wave2: It's good to hear from you!
So sorry to hear your father-in-law is not well. :grouphug:
You must be getting so excited about your trip! I'm sure it will be great to get away from the wintry weather!

OOh, I remember that all-day "morning" sickness. Who thought of calling it morning sickness anyway?? The things that helped me thru it were skittles and jolly ranchers. don't know why, but the sweet flavor helped calm my nausea a bit!

Oh yeah, I definately could have gotten him on board for a Disney Cruise. One of these days...
And I've spent the last few days looking at the excursions. He wants to do one of those Helmut dives (no thanks, too claustrophobic for that) :sad2:, but I'll book one for him! Drew and I want to Parasail if I can find a place that will let him go. Some of the places have an age limit of 8 or 9 and he'll only be 7.

YAY! Wendy's back! Sorry to hear about your father in law! :grouphug:
That's awesome about your year in RE doing well. I have my license, but also have a full time job, and hubby has 2 jobs, so let's just say I'll be taking a "loss" on my taxes this year as far as real estate went! OH WELL! :confused3 You get what you put into it, and I put NOTHING into it this year. That's what I get! :rotfl:

Happy belated bday to DD2!! What a fun age (despite what they say about the terrible twos, I always loved it!)
I'd love to hear about Paris and you'll have to do a TR on DLP! We are hoping to go to London in 2011 and want to go to Paris too.

Welcome back to the boards Wendy!!! We missed you! I'm glad to hear things are going well, but sorry about your FIL. I hope you have a wonderful anniversary trip. I wish I could take those ADRs off your hands, but I guess it's too soon!! I just posted some updates to my TR - so go check it out! I'm going to do more today since I have a lot of time on my hands.

The closest I got to Mickey when I was in Paris was the Disney Store. It's fun that you're planning your trip now?

OOh, I remember that all-day "morning" sickness. Who thought of calling it morning sickness anyway?? The things that helped me thru it were skittles and jolly ranchers. don't know why, but the sweet flavor helped calm my nausea a bit!

Oh yeah, I definately could have gotten him on board for a Disney Cruise.

I've been eating my candy canes off the Christmas tree. (I haven't been up to taking it down....) I got the Lifesavers ones because I'm not a huge fan of the peppermint ones, and they've been really nice. I've learned that anything I can do to stay stationery and keep my mind off my stomach helps...sometimes.

I had to call yesterday to change my first doctor's appointment, because my DH had a conflict. They're doing the memorial on the day of my original (January 20) for the cadet who died in a car crash a few weeks ago. I knew when I called that it would probably have to be pushed back, but they said the next available appointment was FEBRUARY 8th! I was so upset, but I went ahead and changed it because I know DH wants to come.
Well I called my DH all upset, because I'm already at my 10th week, so Feb 8th would be my 15th. It just seemed like much too long to see a doctor. I know if I miscarry, there's nothing they can do, but I just want some contact with a doctor.
Well, my DH called to see what he could do. I was hoping they would give me a referral to see a civilian doctor. Well... he finally got a hold of someone at the office at our primary care physician and they said they would try to do something. Today they called back and told him that they wouldn't give us the referral, but they rescheduled my first appointment for January 14th!!!! That's next week! I'm very excited!
They were also supposed to call me, because they wanted to prescribe me anti-nausea medication, because my DH let them know I'm underweight (at least I was before I got pregnant (5'9 115lbs), I have no idea what I weigh now). Basically even though I'm not throwing up, I'm probably not eating enough, because of my aversions to food, so it would be better if I felt the desire to eat.

Becca...hope they give you something to help.....I hated that nauseated feeling...YUCK!!! They are gonna tell you to gain weight just for you right off the bat...I had friends that were very tall and slim and the DR.s told them the first 15-25# (depending on where they were height wise) would be just for them....and if you nurse after the baby's born, you lose so much anyway! So, take care of yourself and hopefully this feeling will pass soon and you can start enjoying food again!!! Keep us posted!!!!

As I sit here drinking my coffee, watching the snow come down (:headache:), and getting ready for work, I find myself remembering that a year ago today I was on the bus heading to All-Star Music...:sad2:.

I hate WI.

Becca - Congrats on getting that earlier appointment!! That's got to be a huge sigh of relief.

Well, it's somewhat official that we're heading to San Diego over spring break. I found airfare on Southwest for $200 RT! :) I'm shocked. Its still not "official" as I need to talk to my mom this afternoon to be sure they want some company (I'm sure they won't mind). I'm just so excited 1) to be able to see my mom - it's been almost 3 years and 2) to go to Disneyland, even for the 1 day. I've never been to Disneyland and I'd been feeling bummed about not getting to see my favorite Mouse this year.

I don't think we'll tell DS - let it be a surprise.

So, I think I'll jump over to the Disneyland board.........

Yeah...I'm hoping it will be easier to gain weight for me than it has been in the past. I've always been tiny.

Thanks. It's exciting that you may get to go to California. I've never been, but before we found out about Korea and the baby, my Mom was talking about going out there, and I was checking to see how possible it would be to get to Disneyland. It would definitely be easiest if you have a car while you're out there.

I'm sorry:sad1: I hate, loathe, abhor our summers, so I know how you feel! I am getting just a teensy bit of a feel for how ya'll have winter! We are not predicted any snow,,but they are saying with wind chill and all that, it'll be 6 tonight, and -7 tomorrow night:scared1: We are soooooo not used to that....i remember winters when we were sooo thrilled to see 40 or 50...it just doesn't get this cold usually....I am really liking it so far! I am not having to be out walking around in it though.....Like poor ole Dave the Postman!!!!!! Ha!!!

yeah buuuuuuuuuuuuuuut. It's cold down there! Like, killing the fruit trees cold. Like, 50 degrees colder than last year. BRRRR. As much as I'd love to be somewhere without snow (snow + crutches = joy! snow + michigan drivers = YIKES!), I think right now, I'd love to trade it in for somewhere WARM. Or warmer!

(My DH has been talking about how glad he is to not be running the Disney Marathon this year, because of the temps!)

This will be our 4th trip to California...mom's lived out there about 10 years. And I totally agree....you definately need a car (I LOVE Priceline for this!)!! :) We've done the zoo a couple of times and Sea World, but have never made the trek to Disneyland. I think this was my DH's way of giving me something Disney since we knew we wouldn't be going to Disney World for a few years.

Also, since we're only going to go for one day, we're going to be able to participate in the Give a Day Get a Day. I'm so excited about that! The volunteering aspect is rewarding enough...the Disney day is an added bonus.
