Hey all! Had a gorgeous sunny day today. Took a trip to a nearby orchard to go apple picking! They have a few small rides, pig races, pumpkin shooting, pony rides, etc. Had an awesome family day out. Now we've got homemade salsa and are grilling up some chicken for fajitas and Andy come in and the grill is out of gas! CRUD! So now it's sizzling in the skillet~not quite as good but it'll do the trick! Top if off with an ice cold adult beverage...what a great way to end the weekend! Hope you all had a great weekend as well!

Hey Y'all!
I am back from my little journey into the desert to pick up our new car. It's a shiny red Buick and we're both very excited about it.
However, as a bit of a damper to the joy of my first vehicle came the news on Thursday, right after we arrived in Phoenix, that a very close friend of the family died in a car accident early that morning.
He was the older brother of my best friend since I was 2 years old. My family has been friends with their family for over 20 years.
It was very shocking news, because he was so young. We're all still getting over the shock.
Logan and I stayed in Arizona until Saturday morning, but instead of heading towards Manhattan, we re-routed to my parents', so I could provide support and be supported.

What makes the whole thing even more depressing is that fact that only 5 years ago the father of the family died from cancer, so the whole family has barely come to terms with one death, only to have a beloved son/brother/friend die.

Have you all been seeing the rumors on the resorts boards... they are talking about the 4/3 deal coming back for Jan-Mar..... I was talking to me family about it last night.... they want to still keep our reservations for Feb at Shades of Green because its so close to the golf course.... but DD wants to go in January when she is home on break... she hasn't been able to go to Disney for a couple of years now....I am thinking if its a really great deal I might take her and her DBF... I have 800 jetblue credits I need to use... I am I buying an annual pass when I go in a couple of weeks.... I am hoping for free dining instead.... then we can go for 5 days... that would be amazing...

Some are getting it applied to their ressies, others are told they can't have it until Oct. 1st when it's officially released and are asked where they heard the information already

Mousesavers has it up now but says it's for Disney Visa holders only at this point. Wonder if that's why some are able to have it applied and others not. SO glad I have my Disney Visa!

It's the 4/3 at mod and deluxe, 5/2 at value. No gift card.

Called in - asked for the deal - and upgrade my ressie - exactly as I wanted! So now my Pop Vacation has become my Animal Kingdom Lodge Safari !!
Can you believe it? I can't. DD will be so surprised. now I am thinking I may wait until the day to tell her.I am still surprised I got it changed and agreed to it. I am saving money, and I am also staying at our resort of choice!!
