Did any of you catch Miley Cyrus on the Teen Choice Awards? What do you think about that? G had a fit and said no more Hannah Montana in our house. Belle likes the movie soundtrack even though I don't allow her to watch the show just yet- but at two, she's already mesmerized by Hannah Montana. We have to listen to The Climb alot.

I didn't watch the Teen Choice Awards but I heard all the hype about it. So I looked at youtube and saw it there and saw what a lot of people had to say about it.

I think it was a bit much. I wouldn't exactly call it "pole dancing" like some are saying, but it was definitely inappropriate for her age and for a Disney star.

Oh my! You had me curious so I found it on youtube too. It's a bit risque (the pole, dance moves, and short shorts) for my taste and I've heard that she and her Dad are trying to break ties with Disney. In my opinion she's definitely had some controversies and I think Disney should be the one breaking ties with them. I hope she doesn't end up like some other young girls that have been hit with the Hollywood limelight . Makes me want to keep my baby a baby forever... those teenage years scare me!

We really liked her. Billy Ray (ugh, that name) and G remind me so much of eachother. (Especially before G went nuts and cut his hair off.) We always thought it would be cute if Belle grew up to do music like her daddy, so I guess that was our connection to the whole thing. I'm really dissapointed that she is acting that way. I'm always in favor of good, wholesome role models for young girls. And another one bites the dust......

If Taylor Swift starts wearing booty shorts and pole dancing I don't know what I'll do with myself...

Wow, I just had to go find it on YouTube too. I've never been a big fan of hers, her voice annoys me....a lot. In her defense the only thing I can think of is that it must me horrible to grow up in the spotlight. It's not the greatest defense, because she should have people around her that are aware of the image she is sending out. Ugh, this is why I'm hoping to some day only have boys... I don't think I have the patience for girls, not knowing how I was growing up!

So I'm done with overnights now! We didn't even get everything done we were supposed to. Last night we had to do things that another person is responsible for doing, but it takes forever for said person to actually be able to do things. It's frustrating, because I already got a phone call at 10am asking me why our stuff didn't get done and blah blah blah. I really wish some days that I could just completely lay into the store manager about the supervisors, however that is considered inappropriate.

We are coming for a 900 sq foot place ourselves. We've not going to know what to do with all of that space. I'm honestly so freaked out about Belle sleeping on the other side of the house. Our bedrooms shared a wall in the townhouse and she sleeps right across the hall at my parents right now. If she cries I can hear it, but I'm not sure I will be able to in the new house. She'll have a monitor in her room until she's 16!!!!

Don't worry too much, I'm sure you'll be able to hear her. (or you'll be checking on her every 10 minutes!) My Uncle lives in a house with a plan similar to yours, and I'm pretty sure my Aunt can always hear my cousin.

I did the same thing. I feel bad for all the Disney stars. It seems that very few of them can get through the attention well. I guess that's not specific to Disney child stars...
I love Miley Cyrus, so I'll be really sad if she goes down the tubes. I was also a huge Olsen Twins fan back in the day - still am I guess. (they're a few months older than me) It's always sad to watch them struggle.

Shawna, I've been considering one of those cheap-o Ace pull on braces, because they're so thin. The brace is actually designed to readjust the weight in my knee so I can't wear a lot under it. I think what would be best would really be something like women's nylons, but only around my knee!

Afternoon ladies!

It's naptime here at my house and boy am I enjoying it! I'm sitting here with a cup of tea (yes I know it's summer and it's hot but it's my stress reliever) and my laptop and just enjoying the silence.

Andrew is doing his happy dance because he received a letter in the mail with his bus number assignment. I'm having such a hard time with my baby going to K in just 18 short days.

Thanks for all the info on airlines. I'm going to talk to DH about it more. If we can do it cheap enough he may go for it. Plus if we fly we can stay a little longer because it only takes 3 hours to get home rather than 2 days...hmmmm.

Shawna- you'll have to let me know what part of MD you're visiting!

Hope his first day goes smoothly for you!! I am coming in to BWI, and she's about 30 from there I think... they are in Pasadena.

Kim~$600 roundtrip for 4? WOW!! What a great deal! Don't know how I could pass that one up!

I really don't want to pass it up! Right now I am waiting on a final decision from my DH! He is the make it or break it guy! I pretty much would be entirely financially responsible for this trip if it happens! I can do it! I WANT to do it! Just means adding a couple of kiddos to my schedule! No problem!

The airfares are already becoming harder to find so I really want to book it tonite if we are going to do it! The dates we are looking at are January 26- Feb 2! A little bit later than we went this year but I think the weather and crowds will be fine! The only kicker for those dates is that I will have to contend with a WHOLE wack of people for ADRs! The 180 window opens on Oct 27 and my window for 90 days would open on Oct 28th I think! YIKES!!

I checked the crowd calendar for those dates and the recomended parks for those dates line up perfectly with what we wnat to do! I am wanting this trip so bad I am just praying that I won't be too disappointed if it can't happen!

Thanks! I'm still panicking!! I go from "hooray I'll be all better" to "OH GOODNESS WHAT AM I DOING ACK ACK IT ISN'T TOO LATE TO QUIT" to recalling my husband's flat-out EXCITEMENT about life post-surgery.

There's so much I can't do. I can't do yardwork because it hurts to bend my knee for too long a time. I can't kneel because it hurts. Moving faster than a walk? No way! And only with that big ol' knee brace. I told my surgeon - and I meant it - that I'm living my life around my knee and that it's not right. When we went to Alaska last year, I *had* to go hiking to and then on a glacier (it was Alaska! how could I not?!) but knew that I'd pay for it for days after. Oh, I sure did, and the hike was great... but my husband didn't hurt like I did. So it's time to get it fixed. I gotta keep that in mind...

...but mostly I'm just terrified. Two months from today, then a night in the hospital, and then recovery. I'm waiting for one of the physician's assistants who works for my surgeon to call me back and talk about the recovery a bit more (curious about time out of work, etc) and then I'll be able to plan more.

But next time next year, knock wood, I should have a much better shot at being healthier!!

Also, I figured out what I can wear under my stupid brace!! Here's a picture of the wrap that I was given after surgery. I can cut it down to size, it's compression so it'll help keep the swelling down.

Let's talk Disney, non-knee!

My TA told me about a new restaurant that opened up in DTD in Pleasure Island called Paradiso 37. Her greatest thrill with it was the two story wall of tequila. I told my friend about it and now my friend is trying to figure out how to fit it into our trip. It's open until 1am, so she figures we'll just go there the night we go to the Magic Kingdom, since we have an early dinner. Haha!!! Well, it'll be interesting. They do take ADRs but they DO NOT take the dining plan, so it's not a huge deal if we don't get there!

And I heard that Kouzzina by Cat Cora's soft opening is this weekend. I'm hoping the reviews that will trickle out are positive!

And I'm 5 weeks away from going!!!

Should I get socks like these? I generally wear these but I'm worried about tan lines! DH's cousin's wedding is the next weekend and that wouldn't look so cute with a dress!

Also, Soleil, I do think all you moms have a certain mom-sense in life, so I think Bella will be okay across the house! (When I was younger, I ended up being VERY sick one night... my dad and brother were on a camping trip and my mom wears hearing aids... yet she KNEW that something was wrong and came flying out of her bedroom to take care of me, before I could even start crying!)

That house will be f-a-b-u-l-o-u-s once it's built!!

I just keep telling myself that if I instill the values and morals now that when my kids are teens they will avoid all that stuff that panics me. Heck I'm already about Andrew heading to K in a couple weeks- I dread the day he comes home and says a bad word he picked up from a "friend" at school.

Sarah- I'm sorry you're so worried. It stinks that you have to go for another surgery but hopefully once you're recovered life will be more normal for you. And I think you definitely have to dress that brace up Disney-style for the trip!

I have officially started vacation. We are headed north to our trailer... so I will have 7 days of wilderness and beach front! Unfortunately no internet.

I haven't been on here one of my managers at work was let go and I have been swamped with work! So I am soooooo looking forward to being gone!

However no trip north is complete without me planning my trips. I seem to constantly plan. Now with the switch back to 180 ADRs has me stressed!

I hope I can finalize my preliminary plans!

I am on V A C A T I O N! We leave for Disney in the morning! I am sitting here, waiting for the 24 hour mark to print my Southwest boarding passes!!!

I have lots of last minute stuff to do, errands to run, packing to finish. I still haven't completely decided if we will do all carry-ons or if we will need one checked bag. The girls definitely fit their stuff in carry-ons, but they are so much smaller!

So...We arrive in Orlando at 11 am and travel via FL Tours (have any of you used them?) to the Dolphin. We are there one night, then take a taxi to Pop Century the next morning, where we stay for 5 nights. Free Dining, and we have all of our ADR's made and confirmed. Woo Hoo!

I am praying for safe travels and for wellness in the heat (ACCU weather has a "real feel" temp of 109 one day!). I'll check in with all when I get home!

EPCOT is a Verb...have fun!!! Hopefully your days won't get tooooo hot!! Just remember to drink a tank of water every day!!!! You lose it quickly in that heat!! Take lots of pics for us!!!

Hi everyone! I've been so busy lately that I just wanted to pop in.

EPCOT-Have an amazing vacation!

Soleil- I'm definately NOT a Miley Cyrus fan. I didn't see her on tv, so I can't really comment on what happened. However, I'm not really surprised. She's been creeping away from her so called squeaky clean image since that Vanity Fair photo shoot if you ask me. Madison is not allowed to watch her show (or HS Musical) because she's only 6. The one time we had it on while channel surfing, Miley was making out with some guy and that was it. I'm shocked at how many of Maddie's friends are obsessed with Hannah Montana. Do their parents watch that show with them?! I think that kids grow up WAY too fast and do not need to watch shows/movies about teenagers when they are 6. We'll be sticking with the animated shows/movies for quite some time. Some people might call me overprotective, but I really don't care what other people think. Sorry for my rant!!!
