Sarah...I think that sounds fun...tiring for you maybe, but fun!! I would hate to be driving that long too!
Well, I am hoping the boys are better today! They are still asleep! They are just really having a hard time getting their appetites & strength back. I started the sinus thing Sat...but I am on Mucinex and Ibup. so I feel somewhat better...just a sore throat and coughing. YUCK. We are all just drained....I had laundry to do this weekend and I managed 2 loads...and that like to wore me out!!!! I hate feeling like this..but I hate it worse for them!
It'll be different!
I'll keep my fingers crossed that your whole family gets on the mend sooner than later!
I used to always say, "I hate the Packers, but I love Favre." He just seems like such a nice guy. Plus he's hot!! I just wish he played for the Cowboys.
My husband disrespects him a bit for his struggles with drugs and alcohol. I will, however, note that my husband is VERY judgemental and unforgiving about these sorts of things!
That said, he is a GREAT player and he REALLY wanted to be in Minnesota. So.
That sounds like a great Thanksgiving Day. We have the opposite problem with family. My DH's sister just moved into the area, and now all of our family (well at far as parents and brothers and sisters) all live near the DFW area. It always makes holidays harder b/c both sides want our boys at their house. On my side of the family, I am the only one with kids. We split the holidays. My parents get Thanksgiving one year and DH's get them Christmas Day. Then the next year my parents get Christmas Day and DH's get them Thanksgiving. One of these years, we're going to rent a cabin in the mountains for Christmas and just invite whoever wants to come with us.
We do similar. We don't have kids and, as a result, we're always expected to visit everyone else. (Seems like a no-win, doesn't it?) As a result, we do every third. This year, Thanksgiving is at home (anyone can come), Christmas is in MA with my parents. Next Thanksgiving will be with my family, Christmas with his. The following year, Thanksgiving with his, Christmas at home (anyone can come). So every third, we stay home.
DH's brother, wife, and niece live halfway between us and DH's parents, so his parents think that one of the years that neither kid is coming home, that we should pick a weekend in December, out by BIL, and have a family Christmas that way. I think that's a great idea, really! We'll have to see if they ever do that...
I swear, I have a sinus headache more often than I don't. The pharmacy guys at my Target know me, because I have to buy so much sudafed (the real stuff). It usually works and I rarely get the bacterial kind of infections so I don't need antibiotics or a trip to the dr. I think I may have a bit of a cold, which isn't too bad.
I hear ya on the sinus headache. The real stuff is the only stuff worth taking, according to my ENT. She also gave me something by NeilMed for rinsing out the sinuses. It really helps, since in my case I've been diagnosed with "chronic rhino-sinusitis" or something similar. When doctors/NPs/whomever see that in my file, they go "ah, yeah, so what antibiotic do you prefer?"
(I'm hoping that being home until almost Thanksgiving will really slow me down this year, in terms of sinus infections! I consider it the upside).
Oh, and speaking of upside, today is day #21 on crutches, non-weight bearing. In 21 days, I'll be seeing the surgeon and will hopefully be back to the real world.
Of course, that also means that Thanksgiving is in 24 days!
