Yeah - we had to hate Favre (or Fav- RAY) as we would call him for years. Now we're supposed to love him. It's tough.

Meghan - Maddie looks adorable! I'll try to get a picture of my kids up soon. I need a more user-friendly system for uploading pictures from my camera. Takes me forever!

Hope everyone gets healthy soon - I'm fighting the sinus headaches, and my kids are still coughing, but it's improving.

Happy November! (one day late!)

Meghan...she looks so cute!! I put pix up on my PTR...I couldn't figure out why they were all so blurry...then saw my camera was not on auto focus. Oh well....
Sheree-we gotta get well!!! We have only less than 5 full weeks!!!!

I swear, I have a sinus headache more often than I don't. The pharmacy guys at my Target know me, because I have to buy so much sudafed (the real stuff). It usually works and I rarely get the bacterial kind of infections so I don't need antibiotics or a trip to the dr. I think I may have a bit of a cold, which isn't too bad.

I did manage quite the productive weekend. Got Halloween taken care of, took down those decorations. Changed sheets on all the beds (wash away germs!), did all the laundry, made part of my gift for the fish extender exchange for our cruise, cut back my perennials for winter, DH got the Christmas lights on the house and tree in front yard, watched football (yay Vikes!) and baseball (Boo Yankees!). And I even got a really good night's sleep! Too bad I had to go to work today! I could have gotten so much more done at home! Mondays can be such a drag. I have so much work to do (at work) and I'm "stuck" on some parts, so I'm Dising to rejuvenate (and have lunch!)

WHAT?!?!?! CHRISTMAS LIGHTS?!?!?!? ALREADY!?!?!
You are WAY too on the ball for me! If I have mine up by Thanksgiving, I'll be doing good!

Well around here, we have to do it before we get too much snow and ice on the roof or DH will be in a body cast for Christmas! LOL! We don't have a lot of nice, non-windy days in November and he has to work a lot between next weekend and our trip, so he wouldn't even have time.
Don't worry everyone - we don't turn them on until after Thanksgiving!! I'm a stickler on that! Plus our electric bill would be through the roof!

Sarah...I think that sounds fun...tiring for you maybe, but fun!! I would hate to be driving that long too!
Well, I am hoping the boys are better today! They are still asleep! They are just really having a hard time getting their appetites & strength back. I started the sinus thing Sat...but I am on Mucinex and Ibup. so I feel somewhat better...just a sore throat and coughing. YUCK. We are all just drained....I had laundry to do this weekend and I managed 2 loads...and that like to wore me out!!!! I hate feeling like this..but I hate it worse for them!

It'll be different!

I'll keep my fingers crossed that your whole family gets on the mend sooner than later!

I used to always say, "I hate the Packers, but I love Favre." He just seems like such a nice guy. Plus he's hot!! I just wish he played for the Cowboys.

My husband disrespects him a bit for his struggles with drugs and alcohol. I will, however, note that my husband is VERY judgemental and unforgiving about these sorts of things!

That said, he is a GREAT player and he REALLY wanted to be in Minnesota. So.

That sounds like a great Thanksgiving Day. We have the opposite problem with family. My DH's sister just moved into the area, and now all of our family (well at far as parents and brothers and sisters) all live near the DFW area. It always makes holidays harder b/c both sides want our boys at their house. On my side of the family, I am the only one with kids. We split the holidays. My parents get Thanksgiving one year and DH's get them Christmas Day. Then the next year my parents get Christmas Day and DH's get them Thanksgiving. One of these years, we're going to rent a cabin in the mountains for Christmas and just invite whoever wants to come with us.

We do similar. We don't have kids and, as a result, we're always expected to visit everyone else. (Seems like a no-win, doesn't it?) As a result, we do every third. This year, Thanksgiving is at home (anyone can come), Christmas is in MA with my parents. Next Thanksgiving will be with my family, Christmas with his. The following year, Thanksgiving with his, Christmas at home (anyone can come). So every third, we stay home.

DH's brother, wife, and niece live halfway between us and DH's parents, so his parents think that one of the years that neither kid is coming home, that we should pick a weekend in December, out by BIL, and have a family Christmas that way. I think that's a great idea, really! We'll have to see if they ever do that...

I hear ya on the sinus headache. The real stuff is the only stuff worth taking, according to my ENT. She also gave me something by NeilMed for rinsing out the sinuses. It really helps, since in my case I've been diagnosed with "chronic rhino-sinusitis" or something similar. When doctors/NPs/whomever see that in my file, they go "ah, yeah, so what antibiotic do you prefer?"

(I'm hoping that being home until almost Thanksgiving will really slow me down this year, in terms of sinus infections! I consider it the upside).

Oh, and speaking of upside, today is day #21 on crutches, non-weight bearing. In 21 days, I'll be seeing the surgeon and will hopefully be back to the real world.

Of course, that also means that Thanksgiving is in 24 days!

I'll have to check into that sinus rinse business.

Okay - last comment on Favre - The thing that bugged me the most was his so-called indecisiveness this summer. I mean, he waited until he saw the Vikings play a preseason game before he said yes to them. Was he not sure they were good enough? Did he just feel like skipping training camp? A lot of people were saying - who does he think he is? The rest were saying - it's okay, he's Bret Favre!
Jeez!
Thanksgiving for us is usually just us going to my parents with my brother there also. Just 7 of us. Once in a while we take in a "stray" - someone who has no family around, or a priest from their church... They live 15 minutes away, so we still have the rest of the weekend. DH always has to work the Friday and Saturday, and this year he's working the Vikings game on that Sunday too. So we couldn't go anywhere far. We have to pack anyway, because the next week - it's off to WDW!!

I GOT MY MICKEY MAIL TODAY!!

It came with the same luggage tags, vouchers etc. and a new photopass thing.
We are leaving one month from tomorrow night! Man that seems so soon!
:yay::woohoo:

I try and have mine up by the first of December, just after Thanksgiving. The main problem I have is having them down....by Valentine's Day. One year my mom jokingly threatened to call CPS on me for child abuse if I didn't have it down my St. Patrick's Day.

Well we don't watch the news, so I didn't know about how indecisive he had been. Considering though I'm having a hard enough time sticking with the time we're going to visit WDW, I can understand him.

WOO HOO FOR MICKEY MAIL!!!!

I bet it's way better than Tyra mail.:lmao:
I bet the next month will just fly by.

I think my DH is right, I might need a 12 step program. We have 403 days until our next trip (223 days until I make ADR's) and I already have 7 versions of ADR schedules and I have more to make. We are not sure how many days we are staying and if we are doing the Deluxe (which is what I want to do) or the Basic DDP, so that is my main reasoning for the different ones. Plus the fact that once I take it to my DH for final approval, I'm not allowed to change it.

Oh Wookie! How funny !!!! Nope, you don't need a 12 step...you just need a good answer!!!!!
Sheree! Yippee for you!!! I hope my stuff comes before long....Of course, I just called with our airline info last Wed...but I will give it about 10 more days and see...if not I will be calling for sure!!!

You know, with as early as the stores get out the Christmas decorations and stuff, you're probably in the majority! :)

I'm with ya!! How many times does a guy need to retire, only to come back the next year?!? Get over yourself!!!

WHOOHOO!! How exciting!!

Oh - I love my snowbird buddies!! It's so nice to have people be as excited as you are! :grouphug:

I was just wondering - do you ever want to know how people come up with their DIS names? I mean, some are obvious (like mine) but others are not. It's like trying to figure out vanity license plates on cars! If you have an unusual one, would you care to share how it came to be???

One other thing - if you're flying - be sure to check your flight info regularly before you leave!! Sun Country just changed my flight time coming home and I didn't know until I went nosing around to check on seat availability! I can just see myself running through the Orlando airport dragging two little girls with my hair on fire and then finding out we're over a half hour early!!

Yeah, after I wrote that I realized it is November already  and my hubby and the other guys in the cul-de-sac kind of race to get the lights up before the other! I wouldn't be surprised if ours were up this weekend if it's not too cold! I'M NOT READY FOR THE HOLIDAYS!!!!!

My name is one of those - where did she/ he come up with that? I created it as a family login, I found this great place after my jan 2007 trip when I became addicted to all things disney. I did not know it would be my posted screen user name - call me a message board newbie :scared1:
In any event our family name has always been the "duck family" so we call ourselves the drakes... not very feminine and I am sure most people think I am a guy posting :lmao:
I want to change it, can you change your user name? :confused3

let's see, crzyred...well I'm a true redhead and well apparently crazy:rotfl::rotfl:

My father has been slowly putting christmas lights up around here. I don't let him turn anything on until Thanksgiving though.

It's just nice to know that a holiday will be spent HERE. And we certainly welcome family (parents, siblings) to come to US. In our case, both sets of parents are 13 hours away and in different directions. It's a lot of traveling and extremely expensive!

I guess mine's not terribly unusual. But I picked it in college and decided to stick with it, almost everywhere. The "sarbah" part came from a dear friend of mine who used the word "bah!" a lot. It eventually rolled into my name, going from Sarah to Sarbah. Some people actually try to call me Sarbah in real life. Unless you're the friend who gave me the nickname, take a step closer so I can whack ya! ;) The 77 came because someone on Yahoo! already had sarbah (the nerve!) so I just tacked my year of birth on to it. I wonder when I'm going to be embarrassed that I'm advertising my age? But it's worked for well over a decade now!

(My husband, ever the practical one, goes by *first initial**last name* - ha!)

I tried to start planning vacations last night, but no one was on board with me. I suppose it helps that I don't exactly know WHEN I'm going to be close to 100% (June, I hope!). My friend and her husband go to NAMM in Anaheim, CA each year and she and I bandied around the idea of me tagging along (DISNEYLAND!). DH wants nothing to do, so he won't come, curse him. I then tried to get him to look at a cruise in March and then I gave up and had a pity party. I'm having a lot of those, these days.

(He thinks that staying with my parents in April, so he can run the Boston Marathon is a vacation. Not only that, but HIS PARENTS might also be staying with my parents and dude I am so so so running away. But I will hopefully get to meet snykymom either this December or in April!!)

(And I think a short cruise would be GREAT because a Caribbean cruise doesn't mean a lot of walking, which would be good, if recovery is slow)

Today's been better, at least. I pulled the surgical tape off my incision yesterday, so my knee bends better, but apparently a small section isn't 100% healed. Oh well. Better that it heal with my knee bent than with it not! Plus, I finished a large section of my current cross-stitch project.

And I have less than 3 weeks to go!

My name comes from Star Wars and is on of my favorite lines in any movie.

Sarah, I would love to see a picture of your cross stitching when you are done. I haven't cross stitched since the boys were babies. My favorite wedding present is actually something that my mom cross stitched for me. I'll try and take a picture of it and post it sometime.

Right now I'm working on another scarf. Instead of using yarn from Wal Mart, I went to a craft store and got some really soft yarn. It's so much softer than the stuff I got at Wal Mart. If we still get to go in December next year I think I'm going to make the scarves green and red. I found a pic from Christmas-time of Mickey and he had a red and green stip scarf. Now I just have to learn how to change colors. My sister wants me to make her one as well, but she wants to go yarn shopping with me.

Princess Paige and Dracula Sarah!

Sheree- nice Halloween pics!

Screenname- My DS used to say Monny instead of Mommy. In fact, he still does and so does my DD now. :confused3 And my kids names start with an A (Andrew) and an E (Emily) so I'm Monny2AE. Good thing we're done having kids or I'd be in trouble having to add another letter!

Thanks! I sort of guessed your screenname from your siggie, but I think I remember you saying that once last year in our snowbird discussions.
