Here are my snowbird friends!!

Thanks so much for the link!

I have lots of pages to catch up on . . .

I posted a quick update on the Jan. 2010 thread before I was guided this way to where all of my peeps are hanging out. I'm STILL pregnant! It's a miracle and am so happy to be 35 weeks. We have a c-section scheduled for 11/12, just 25 days away! I've been off of bed rest for about 3 weeks now and am enjoying life!

Rylan talks about going back to Disney all of the time. He is excited to show his little brother what it's all about. He's so funny, though. He say things like, "Baby Chase will be able to ride ___________."

How's everyone doing?

Hey!!!:flower3: Glad to hear everything is going good with the pregnancy. Not too much longer and and we have a "Snowbird baby"!!! We will demand to see some pics of the little guy and his big brother too. (If you don't want to post pics of your kids online, we'll understand)

So my friends and I are going on a girls shopping day on Wednesday! We are hitting up some outlet malls in the Gurnee Mills area of IL. I'm so excited!

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Hey Mindy~ I posted to you on the other thread.. but I am glad you found us over here! Now you have to stay!!!!!!! I was thinking about you last week...I knew you were due sometime around Thanksgiving, but couldn't remember exactly when.

OK, I've finally created a new photobucket account, but I don't know if I can figure out how to upload the pictures. I know I'm really late, but here are a couple of pictures of Main Street, MK, about 2:30 on Sept. 10:

Mindy! I've been thinking of you... especially when I think about the Giant Rice Krispie Treat that amused me, my friends, and other people we know (when I posted it to flickr, a lot of people saw it - awesome).

I'm GLAD you're still pregnant. That's awesome news!! :yay:

How exciting!!

I'm, you know, home and lying around. Today, my inside right ankle bone is swollen. My mom seems to think that some of the bruising/swelling has just drained there and it's probably no big deal. I'm kind of annoyed because, well, I've been fighting every day and night about putting pillows under my leg with my husband. He gets mad if I'm not instantly comfortable with some random way he arranges the pillows...

...but nothing like a little surgery to test the marriage, eh? Things are fine, otherwise, and I don't have a lot to complain about. I suppose the fact that all I can complain about is pillows and showering means things are really good - and they are!! I'm NOT in a lot of pain. I'm only occasionally uncomfortable. I am, however, kind of frustrated with my mom being around 24/7, even though I know it's been a huge help. But we're used to a quiet home and she likes the TV on all the time. It's an adjustment but it's been vital to my recovery.

The staples itched BIG TIME yesterday, which I thought was kind of funny. They still have another week until removal, so the itching thing better stop.

I'm sorry I missed wishing Madison a happy birthday, though. I suppose a belated birthday wish is better than none?

Meghan- glad Madison is feeling better and she had a great birthday!

Mindy- so glad to hear your little turkey is still cooking and you're doing well! Not much longer! :cool1: Congrats on being allowed to move around. :goodvibes

WOW!!!! I hope it looks just like that in January! Minus the pumpkins of course!
Shelly- 19 days WOO HOO!!!!! I would have known that if your ticker was working :rolleyes1

Sarah- Have patience with your mom. I'm sure she has the best intentions. And ewwww for itchy staples- that would drive me batty. At least it's better than pain though I guess.

Well I've been busy the last several days with school and family junk, and I'll post more later. I wanted to ask a question first and see what everyone thinks before I pick the boys up from school. After I pick them up, I am going to book the trip. I am starting to rethink going in November 2010. We could go earlier in the year and maybe get the 4/3 deal. We haven't been to WDW since October 2006, so I want to get back asap. Also, if we go in November it will be over my oldest will turn 13 on the trip. Knowing my youngest like I do, if we don't go for his 13th birthday he will think we love my oldest more. I'm just afraid as close as their birthdays are together we will not be able to go back for my youngest's 13th birthday. They are roughly 13 month apart in age. What should I do? Book for earlier in the year, or book for November. I'm actually getting heart burn over this.

Ok well here's some input from the youngest child. I know my parents love me and my siblings equally. I do know this. However, sometimes my siblings (I think) got some better "deals". My sister's birthday is in November and my brother in April. So they usually had some sort of birthday parties or something fun with friends. Mine is in the middle of August, a time when everyone is busy getting ready for back to school.

Now I'm not at all saying this is the case in your family, actually it most likely isn't.

If you really do feel that the youngest may feel "jipped" then I don't know if I would do that. Another option is for the youngest birthday to do something really cool locally. Depending on his birthday would it be possible to head to one of the big cities near you and do something possibly sports related for the weekend? Go to some major league baseball games, a football game. Is there an amusement park close that he enjoys? Would it be possible to take a weekend do stuff that is centered only around him?

I'm the younger of two, with a December birthday. No one had time for my birthday with all the holiday stuff (even though we're Jewish - friends weren't). I always got the "It's a double gift for Chanukah and your birthday" line, but it never was.

My brother, on the other hand, has a July birthday. He got gifts twice a year, and we traveled over his birthday since it was vacation, etc. And even though my parents tried their best, my brother sure as heck lorded it over me!

Saying how you know your younger son, I'd be cognizant of his feelings. A weekend idea is fine, but nothing you come up with locally will negate the thought, "But it's not Disney - it's not the same." And don't think the older won't have some fun with that as well.

Go earlier in the year, when it's neither's birthday - or just go a week earlier or later.

Hi to all my snowbird friends! :goodvibes

Just wanted to pop in and say hi! :wave2: I have been around but mostly lurking! :3dglasses Hope everything is going well for everyone!

Mindy - glad that turky is still cooking! Also glad you are up and around! :thumbsup2

Sarah - don't itchy staples mean that things are healing? When I had my c-Sections, my nurse told me that itchy staples was a good sign, that things were healing! Hope you are feeling better soon! How long will you be down for the count, so to speak?

Shelly - 19 days! :dance3: Holy Moly girl, that trip is right around the corner! :woohoo:

Kim (wookie) - I'd say that if you had your heart set on November than you should do that! However, you also know your kids best. If you think one will be hurt badly by not having a birthday at Disney, then I would consider Snykymom's advice and go a bit sooner in the year! Ultimately, YOU (being the one who is paying for the trip) get to decide when the trip happens! ;)

Well, I have only 7 days left before I need to make my ADRs for our trip! There are so many choices...I am overwhelmed with choices! popcorn:: Here is our list of potential ADRs -

Sci Fi lunch @ DHS
Biergarten supper @ Epcot
Le Cellier supper
'Ohana breakfast
1900 Park Fare breakfast

Our last 2 we are really struggling with.

For one evening, we are trying to decide between staying @ POFQ and eating at Boatwrights OR going over to DTD and trying Raglan Road.

For the other decision, we are trying to decide between doing a character breakfast @ LTT (replacing CP during the renos) OR going to Tony's Town Square at the end of the day.

Actually with that one it will really come down to a time thing. If we can get a pre RD ADR @ LTT I am pretty sure we will take it! Otherwise it will be Tony's.

Between Boatwright's and Raglan Road, which one would you choose and why? :confused3

Kim~ I have never been to Boatwrights or Raglan Road!!! I would maybe see which one is more kid friendly...is R Rd a kid place? I just wonder why we have never been? It's one of those places I haven't heard much about so I guess that's why we havne't been.....I am still so excited that you are getting to go back!!!! How are all your little day care kiddies?
Monny2AE~ Are ya'll well yet? And how many kiddos are you keeping right now?

The youngest has a birthday in early January, two days before mine. He doesn't like sporting thing b/c they are too loud for him (he has mild autism spectrum disorder). The closest amusement park he hates. He honestly wouldn't care about the cost, he would just care that his brother got to be at WDW on his birthday and he didn't.

Yeah I'm the middle child, and my birthday is in early January just when kids got back to school from Christmas break. I had a few birthday parties, but not every year.

We thought about going in early February when the 4th graders are going to sleep away camp for 3 days b/c John doesn't want to go. It would have been a perfect week. The teacher said while the other 4th graders are gone, the others that don't go, don't really do anything. So he only miss two days of actual class work. Our pay off date would be too early, so that nix'd that idea.
Then we thought our boys love April Fool's day. We thought we would wake them up April 1st and the April Fool's joke would be they were going to WDW instead of school. Then take them to WDW instead of school. Well the stupid state of Texas messed up that plan b/c they are having the TAKS test(manditory state testing) during the time we would have gone. Now we are thinking the first week of May. We'll just wake them up one morning to go to school and take them to the airport instead. It's been 3 years 6 days since we were at Disney last, and I just don't think I can wait until November 2010. Again the kids no nothing about this trip, just in case when my DH starts working, he can't get the time off.

I'll be off work 4-6 weeks. I guess at week 4, I'll know if it's another 2 or not. Four weeks is November 9th and six is November 23rd. At 6 weeks, I'll allowed to be partial weight bearing (at least let my right leg touch the ground while I'm on crutches) and it's another 4 to 6 weeks before I'm "weaned" off crutches. So, 10 weeks is December 22nd? And 12 weeks is my birthday - January 4th. :) I don't know much past that!

Between Boatwright's and Raglan Road, which one would you choose and why? :confused3

I ate at both in January. Of course, it's Disney, so both are equally as kid friendly. I think I liked Boatwright's better, but it was because we felt we got a better "deal" (bang for our buck, so to speak)and we liked our waitress better. It's funny to say that, as we were on the dining plan then... but I think my DH and I enjoyed the steaks at Boatwright's more than the "Irish pub" food at Raglan Road (though the desserts they had were HEAVENLY).

Mostly, six of one, half dozen of another.

Thanks Shawna :) Well, my DD6 is sicky right now with a fever and cold so she has been at home for the last 2 days so no work for me! I feel really bad having to cancel out on the peeps I sit for but what can I do? :confused3
I don't want their child to get sick nor do I need the extra kids around when I have my hands full with my own little one!

Thank so much Sarah! Your opinion has given me some "food for thought" on this situation! I will consider heavily over the next few days. Why, oh why, does there have to be so many good places to eat? Such a hard decision! :headache:

WOW!!! :scared1: 10 weeks! That is a long time! Well, hopefully, if all goes well, you will be able to go out and have a good celebration for your birthday! Maybe you should go dancing! :dance3: :rotfl:

Well, I have a mountain of laundry to get through, bathrooms to clean and a sicky kid to take care of so I am of and running for the day! :laundy: Hope everyone has a great Tuesday! :goodvibes

I'm with ya! I've been home the past two days with DS6 who also has a fever and a small cough. I finally took him to the doctor earlier today because he started complaining about it hurting to swallow. No strep - just a viral thing. Hopefully he starts feeling better. We were told to watch his breathing in case it gets worse. I guess that's one of the big warning signs of H1N1. UGH!! I just hope he starts feeling better soon. I hate when he's sick....although, the upside is he cuddles more!
