Wendy~How handsome is your son!?! It kind of gave me chills because that is going to be one of my sons before I know it. I know, I know, they are only 5 and 6 months but they are growing up so fast.

I think I'm ready for life to slow down a little. Can't catch my breath LOL I'm learning that the end of the school year is very hectic, even for kindergartners. I will hopefully be around a bit more after we get back from Florida in two weeks.

I have to ask for those with kids. How did you keep your kids entertained over summer vacation? Ry has been so stimulated all school year, I just know he's going to be bored this summer. We are signing him up for swimming lessons, and a chess camp (he loves chess). He will also be doing soccer again and will start karate in the August.

I'm heading over, Sheree! :boat: By the time I get there, the water will be nice and warm!
I got in it tonight after work! Oh it was heavenly!!! Come on over!

My kids seemed to find a lot to do on their own. We have a pretty good backyard play set and a lot of neighbor kids, so they didn't have a lot of structured activities. Plus, I work at least a few days per week, so they were at daycare. But some ideas are to plan local day trips to the parks, zoo, swimming pools. Maybe set up some outside games like an obstacle course, bean bag toss, hopscotch etc. My girls like sidewalk chalk. They would draw roads on the driveway and scooter or bike on them. Maybe plan some crafts for rainy days. Just a few ideas.

Wendy - I have to apologize! When I read your post about your son going to prom, I wasn't able to see the pictures. So I owe you a "WOW!" is he a hansome guy! His date was also very pretty! Sorry I'm late with that!

Oh My Gosh!!!

I have been so out of touch recently - y'all have been chattin up a storm!! :)

I am here - busy, but here! We are all well for the most part. Just super busy! It seems we have something going almost every night!

Wendy - your son looks like such a nice young man - you should be proud! :thumbsup2

Shawna - your ADRs look Fabulous!!! I will be anxious to hear all about those! You got some great ones! popcorn::

Kim - hope that all is well with you mole removal - praying for you!

Sarah - hope your DH's foot is okay and that he is not making you bonkers.

Sheree - is that hot tub still gonna be up and running over the July holiday weekend when we are down in your neck of the woods?? hmmm? ;)

Mindy - we usually play tourists in our town every summer - do a lot of the fun tourist atractions that are in our area! Visit a different park each weeek, go for bike rides, picnics and play at our neighbourhood playgrounds! We also spend quite a bit of tome at our Public Library! They have an awesome Kids section with lots of fun activities - craft days, puppet shows and all sorts of stuff! We also tend to travel to see family for at least 3 weeks of every summer so that takes up some time too! We are almost never bored!! :goodvibes

Hope evreybody has a fabulous long weekend!! :cool1:

That's enough.;) You can always add my favorite to the list: Booklist!!!:yay: I am a book nerd and my boys always have had summer reads...dd is reading now, but we are still at that ssllloooooooowww stage!!! I try to pick a few I think they would like, then they can narrow it down, but on days when it is just pure misery outside in our heat...they can read and have some quiet...I am old fashioned in the idea that kids (&mom) need some good ole lazy days with no structure, no plans, no 'fun' stuff...just hang around and do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! Which, of course means reading books!!! LOL!! I like the kids to do the summer reading program at the library, then when it's over, I keep it going here...adding small rewards/prizes for the next 5,10 or 20 books.Good fun and it's FREE!! (well...the rewards aren't.,but that's up to you!!).

Good morning ladies!!! I haven't "chatted" with all of you in awhile, so I wanted to drop by. I chopped off all my hair the other day and I'm loving it!!! No, I don't have any pics yet, but I'll be sure to post some after this weekend. We've been super busy (still) but I wouldn't have it any other way. Everything is starting to wind down and I'll be both sad and relieved when it's all over. Have a great day!

:scared1: I can't picture you with short hair Meghan!!! I imagine you are still as beautiful as always though!!! Please post some pictures ASAP!!! :goodvibes

Hi Snowbirds! Hope all is well! It is a beautiful sunshiny day! It's amazing how a little sun can brighten your mood. Not too much going on here.

Andrew is finally feeling better, Em and Jason are still miserable but getting a little better each day. No more fevers so that's a start. I'm still crossing my fingers it's going to skip me this time around. :rolleyes1

After sitting in the dr office for 2 hours waiting for the dr, my FIL found out that the chemo didn't do anything. He told him- and I quote- "start making exit plans and you have about 6 months at most." Sometimes I'm appalled at how blunt doctors can be. I know he's just another patient and they do this a hundred times a week but a little compassion would be nice.

:hug:Oh Kim.... Keeping your family in my prayers.

Today we are basically spending the day outside :cool2:. My parents got their raised garden built (no more bending over to garden...maybe I'll actually help ;)), so we spent the morning filling it with dirt. Then this afternoon we are planting the veggies. It's great because it's just at the right height that Grandma can easily help with it. She's so excited to do some gardening.

Oh Kim!! I am sooo sorry! Besides that news is bad enough...how bout a little compassion for a fellow human being?!Will keep you in our prayers...we still serve a mighty big God!!

Oh Kim - that's so sad! I will pray that God gives you and your family strength to get through this. Very unfortunate and harsh delivery of the news.
:hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:
We are here for you anytime you need to "talk".

Aw, thanks! I'll post pics on my PTR after the weekend.

We'll continue to keep your FIL and your family in our prayers. I know that doctors can be blunt, but seriously?! That is no way to talk to someone.

Oh Kim  That is sooo rough! :sad2: Bad news is bad enough without hearing it such a nasty way. :sad1: I will be praying for you and your family as you walk through this tough time. As Shawna said, we serve a mighty God and He WILL see you through this time! :grouphug: You are loved here my friend, know that and come to us when you need a  Take care of yourself and let us know how things are going! :flower3:

Kim--sending you and your family more prayers and hugs. :flower3:
I can't say it any better than eveyone else already has...we are all here for you and are praying hard :grouphug:

More prayers coming your way, Kim. I hate that some doctors have no bedside manners.

Meghan~Can't wait to see pictures of the new do!

Thanks so much for the ideas on how to keep my bigger little guy busy this summer. He is reading but it still pretty slow. I was out the other day and found some easy chapter books for him. I'm reading it to him but hope that he has interest in it and will pick it up on his own. I have plans of spending lots of time at my brother's pool, too.

Who's up next for Disney? My sister came to me this week and told me that she and her husband are surprising their kids with a trip in August. I'm so excited for them. Their last trip was in 2006 and they didn't get much accomplished. This time they are going in with a plan (thanks to me ;) )The last trip they stayed at ASMo, this time they are upgrading to CBR.

Hi!! Shelly (red) I have been thinking of you this week as I started going to the Chiro....all that pain in my neck came back as soon as I finished my prescription...went in Tues afternoon for xrays and exam, Wed he looked at it with me, all the verts in the neck are straight looking at it sideways...should be a 60 degree curve, and all were tillted to the left and up...so I was pinching some nerves...he popped it (loudly I might add!) and I felt immediate relief!! Went back yesterday, nother adjustment and I feel sooo much better!!! Go 3 times a week for the next 2 weeks, then weekly for like 3 weeks or something til it heals completely(inflammation!!!!)....so...that's my new best friend!!!!!
DD has ballet recital this weekend...dress rehearsal tonight, recital tomorrow! She is sooo excited.....she moves up to Level 2 with the bigger girls next year...she wants to add jazz also...we'll see...may be a passing fancy!
Mindy~ yay for your family to get to surprise their kids!! And they are so smart for conferring with you!!! LOL!!! Well, next up for a trip .....CrazyRed/Shelly is going to Disneyland here pretty soon, Sheree and Dave are in July, Meghan is in Sept, Shelly is in Nov, then I am the week after her.....Andrea (Peanut) is after me....who else?

Thanks... and yes they do grow up so fast... we have always had our kids in many organized activities over the summer... book clubs, soccer, baseball, swimming lessons... kept them (and me) very busy... plus our school always has a summer reading list for the kids that is required..

Oh My Gosh!!!

Wendy, I am green (like a LGMH!) with envy! :thumbsup2

Aargh, I need to stop browsing the discount cruise websites. Disney has a great military discount on a 10-night and an 11-night Mediterranean cruise...late this August. After the boys start school. :headache: That's not a good enough reason to start homeschooling, is it?
