~Snowbird Chat 2~

Yay for a new car Meghan!! I love new cars :)

Disney trip is officially cancelled. I need to call and cancel my ADRs now. I hope someone is able to use them. I'm getting ready to start prepping the house. First up is the kitchen. I hate painting but can't wait to see how everything looks all freshly painted. Hope we find a buyer really soon.

Anyone want to move to PA?

Hi birdies!

I've been AWOL for well over a week. Been in a bit of a funk. I'll try to keep my whine brief, anyway:
-Leg still hurts. In fact, it took EIGHT days of Motrin 800 to not be in constant pain. I went for a week before that without any medication. That wore me down a lot. And then i accidentally missed a dose last Thursday and my leg hurt like, well, I hadn't gotten any better. Boo.

-Because of the pain, I haven't done ANYTHING but go to work then go home and rest. On Saturday, I *gasp!* left the house. We went for lunch. Then I drove us to the mall... and spent half an hour recovering from the pain. The car seat pushes right into the sore spot in my leg. I can't quite straighten it out and drive, either. At least it's my left leg?

-We were supposed to drive to MA on Friday. 14 hours in the car. I can't drive. I can't really ride comfortably. After a lot of discussion (the possibility of flying was discussed, but, well, if I survive the flight, what good am I?), we canceled our trip. I was looking forward to seeing my niece for a second time. She's a whopping six months old, now! She is also a mini-me, too. Poor child! I won't see her until Disney in July, now. :(

-I started physical therapy on Monday. The PT I saw isn't sure that I really have a calf tear and thinks it could likely be nerve damage. It's not. I promised to not take any pain medication for my next appointment to see if that can sort things out further.

Oh. So much for short. But isn't that picture of my niece SO adorable? I'm so in love with her and I can't wait to spend more time with her! I'm heartbroken that it's not this week, but whatkinyadew?

The semester is almost over! 4 days of classes left and then graduation is April 30! We're on to summer, then!!

And I will get better, in time. It's a calf tear. It will heal. I just need to be patient. It's not one of my strong suits!

Meghan- congrats on the new car! I hope you get lots of rest on your day "off"! Sounds like you need it!

Mindy - well, congrats on the new house! That will keep you busy and be exciting. Will you be moving locally? Good luck - I refuse to move because a) I don't have a good reason to do it and b) it's too much work! HA!

Sarah - sorry about Michigan losing the Frozen Four and about your leg troubles! Really, I think you've had enough now! Your niece is ADORABLE!! What a cutie!

Going to go walk the dog (the sun's out) and run some errands today. Then I will be tackling the storage for garage sale prep!! Wish me luck!! If I don't come back to the boards today, send help!

Meghan....I am not pregnant and you make ME tired with what all you do!! LO!!!! I know you can't WAIT to get your new car!!!! Have to ask...do y'alls cars come with Air cond? I know they used to give the Northern Dealerships that option...wasn't sure if it still was like that.....we would fry without it! I know how you feel about maternity clothes! They are sooo cute, but it's a waste to buy a lot, because you will be out of them so soon...just keep wearing the same stuff with different sandals or scarves....you'll be in reg clothes in June anyway!!

I was tired of looking at my lists and not getting anything done. I guess I could have tried to spread things out over a few days! But, once I get on a roll, I usually can't stop and slow down.

I'm pretty sure all cars made after a certain year come with a/c now. My current car has a/c, but it stopped working a few summers ago. We got it fixed (the cheap way) but then it stopped again. I cannot WAIT to have a/c in a car again! We don't have very many warm months up here, but the past few summers have been brutal (in my opinion). I can't stand being hot.

There are a lot of cute maternity clothes, but I've had to buy most of them online through Old Navy. Not a lot of selection in the stores. I actually bought another t-shirt at Target yesterday. Plain black, scoop neck....I will probably turn it into a dance shirt once the baby comes (once my t-shirts become a little dingy, I start wearing them to teach dance).

Yay for a new car Meghan!! I love new cars :)

Tony talked to the guy who got us the car today and this guy is still so impressed by it. I guess at the auctions, all the cars get labeled as either green, yellow or red. Green means there is nothing wrong with the engine or the transmission, but there might be some minor repairs that need to be done. My car was a green light, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with it! It's getting inspected today, so it's going to pass with flying colors. The guy said that whoever owned this car previously took really good care of it. The inside is spotless too...and it's 8 years old!

Meghan- congrats on the new car! I hope you get lots of rest on your day "off"! Sounds like you need it!

Thanks Sheree! I just remembered that tomorrow I need to clean the house, so I guess it's not an "off" day afterall. Friday, I'm helping at the book fair at Madison's school for 2 hours and then I have someone coming over to purchase Madison's old Irish dance costume.

Mindy~congrats on making a decision! LOL!! I know you will be glad once you get the ball rolling! I would love to move North!!!!
Sarah~ sorry about all that pain and misery....that kinda junk gets you in an irritated state and you just feel miserable. You hate to act ugly, but, it just goes with the constant pain...or for me it does anyway. Hopefully you are on the mend.....and your niece is a little doll!!!!!! Love her dress...and her little face!!!!!

Sarah - it stinks that you are in so much pain. I'm not so good with the patience thing either...hang in there!

Meghan - yay for a new car!!!

Speaking of new cars, I've decided that I really need to sit down and look at finances and try to work out a new car plan. My poor little guy, which my grandma got new in '92, is reaching the end of his life span. Car isn't worth getting the repairs done to it. So I need to figure out if it's worth it to keep taking it in, or suck it up and go further into debt (which I do believe is the "true" american dream at this point). I honestly don't even feel safe in it anymore and it won't last another winter, so I guess that should be my main sign that it's time...grrrr.

Got a day off tomorrow (or actually today as it's now 12:05am) so I'll start doing some crunching and probably start applying for a 2nd job....:rolleyes1

Meghan - yay for a new car!!!

Tony was supposed to pick it up last night, but it didn't work out that way. He drove all the way out to the guy's little dealership which is about 50 minutes away (with Madison). The guy got tied up in some sort of meeting, and after waiting for 2 hours, Tony told him they would have to meet up tomorrow (which is now today). CRAZY! If this guy knew he had a big meeting or something, he should have rescheduled. So aggravating. So, today should be the big day.

Hey girls...just did a few minimal menu selections for pricing for the DDP...the prices have def went up! Last year it was around $140 a day for us...this year the price is $196:eek: But... I think the menu pricing went up too....just a bowl of soup at the 50s Prime Time is $6.49...I really don't think it was that high last year...I will have to get Mike to sit down with me and we will do mock orders and try to be very realistic...I want to really see what the diff is gonna be--Mercy!
Talked to Shelly today! She said to tell all you girls hello...they are still having a hard time with having to put their dog down. If you think about it, say a prayer for them...her youngest one is having a hard time too:sad1: I have never had a pet that long...she got him before she even got married, so it was very hard on her. Just wanted to give y'all the update since she hasn't really felt like posting in a while....
If we go in Nov when we plan, I just hit 7 months this week.....I will start making room ressies in mid-May...Hate for that ticker to be longer than 6 months...any farther out than that and I get kinda freaked out! LOL!!!

I MISS MY TICKER!!!!!

There it is. I said it. I'm trying to be positive but darn it....

I MISS MY TICKER!!!!! (We need a smiley that resembles one of my toddlers when they have a full blown kicking and screaming meltdown.)

Deep breath. Vent over. :rolleyes1

Happy Monday everyone!

Sorry you have to wait an extra day for your new car, Meghan.

Prayers for Shelley. Losing a pet is like losing a member of the family. Hope time will heal.

Sorry about your ticker, Kim. I'm sure I could find a picture of my kid throwing a fit to use as a smiley.

Plans have changed for us again. No new house and our trip is back on! This time I rebooked through Disney directly rather than through AAA. It was so much easier! 2 months from today :)

Hey girls!!:wave2: Happy Monday! LOL...I finally took myself to the NP today,...got an antibiotic and a med to dry up the sinus drainage...it just keeps draaaaagging on. The only neg is that the 2nd med will keep me up at night..so I might need a sleep aid, which will make me have a hard time waking up...what a cycle!! I took a veeery long nap afte church yesterday, slept til 7:30 today and took another nap after the dr appt. I still feel kinda tired....that's why I hate the sinus crud-it just wears you out!!
On a happy note,...my hubby is grilling meat for burgers and hot dogs for me on the grill! Sat was our 17th anniv. I can't believe we have been married that long! A couple more years and he will have me longer than my parents!! Hope you are having a great week!!

Good morning everyone. I finally got my new car on Friday night and I'm loving it! It drives great and I just have to get used to parking it! Saturday, we went to Best Buy to pick out a stereo for it. Whoever owned the car before us took the faceplate of the cd player with them. :confused3 The new stereo is great and it even had an ipod hook-up.

This week is Spring Break for Madison and the weather is just miserable. Yesterday, it snowed. It even stuck to the ground for awhile. Thankfully, it's all gone now but it's still cold out. Tomorrow is supposed to be the warmest day, but with thunderstorms. We wanted to go play mini golf this week, but I don't think that's going to happen. Tony took Friday off and we're going to go see "African Cats". Maddie and I really enjoyed "Oceans" last year and we can't wait for this new one!!

Meghan you're getting so close!! How are you feeling?

So it's April, the latter part of April no less. What's the forecast you ask for WI? Well how about this: A WINTER STORM WARNING is in effect for most of the area through tomorrow morning. Heavy snow, mixed with some sleet and rain is likely. Travel will be greatly impacted by this storm by this evening. Steady snow will taper to snow showers tomorrow, with final accumulations of 5-10". It's going to be a heavy, wet snowfall that will weigh down tree branches and may cause some power outages.

Yay!! So @#*% excited.

I cannot believe you girls are still getting such weather!! We have had some very wonderful weather, let me tell you! But,....yesterday was a summery feeling day...it got over 80 and the pressure and humidity just hit..felt like I was wearing a parka!! April into mid-May is our best time for sure!!! luckily, our little subdivision always has a wonderful breeze--except of course on some of those dog days of summer where you cant draw a full breath!!
Kim (canada)...how is your trip planning coming along? And Mindy?...And Shelly?!! I am excited for those of you planning..if I forgot anyone, let me know. OH,..Sarah..aren't you going in July...see,...I am forgetting! I need UPDATES! Just went through my dd's ballet schedule for extra practices and such for Recital...most of our Saturdays (except one) are scheduled from next weekend to recital on Memorial day weekend:sad2: I think it's a little too many weekends, what with all the other stuff we all have going on! And, it's 2 weeks later in the month than normal, so that really makes it seem longer! So...except for securing a room in May, around my 6 month mark,...I have decided not to really focus on any other plans for the next trip.
I have to now focus on planning my next school year! It'll be here before I turn around, sooooo my extra time needs to be spent being productive. Work (planning next year) first, Play (planning for disney!! ) second!!! Then I will feel no guilt for the hours I will be on the Disney boards!
Hope you are all having a good week!!!

Meghan you're getting so close!! How are you feeling?

I'm feeling very uncomfortable lately. Sleeping is next to impossible which really stinks. I'm ready to be done, but I'm trying to enjoy everything as much as possible as well. We just have some finishing touches to do to the nursery and I don't know what I'll do once it's done. It's kind of like planning for Disney...once everything is done, you just have to sit around and wait!

Doing a bit of a happy dance  DH decided to join us in Bermuda! Didn't think he'd do it, but he booked the flight! And now DD has to pay up on her offer to play golf with him - never picked up a club in her life!

Meghan - good luck with the wait!

Hey guys! I've been being very productive lately going through stuff for my garage sale. I hope it will start feeling like spring soon. The winter weather that Red is getting is passing to the south of us but it's still cold and wet. I've been able to work at home some too so that helps me get things done.

Shawna, I hope you start feeling better soon! I hate that sinus crud! Paige has a cold and I have some of it too.
We are getting into busy season too. Dance recitals, choir concerts (which fall on the same night as dance which they can't miss now!) and pretty soon Sarah starts softball.

Snkymom - yay for DH going to Bermuda too!

Mindy- yay for your trip! Are you going to stay where you're at then?

Kim - I wish I had a ticker too. I just said to Dave that I've neglected my TR because while it is so fun to share and relive it, I don't have another trip to look forward to. It is hard.

Meghan - hope the car is awesome! I bet this is getting to be the tough phase in your pregnancy. The last month is hard! We were thinking abut seeing the African cats movie too. I have taken the day off but Paige has a bday party later that day. We just saw an ad for the movie and Sarah said that she wants a baby lion!!

Meghan - good luck with the wait!

Thanks! I'm not always a very patient person, so I don't like waiting.

The car is great! Madison really loves the extra space in the back seat and being up higher.

This last month is going to be rough. I hate waiting and the clothing issue is getting worse. Just when I thought the weather was going to stay warm, we've had some very cold days. Well, I don't really fit into the cold weather clothes anymore, so it's very frustrating every morning. My winter coat no longer zips either. Running errands yesterday was very cold!

We can't wait to see African Cats!

Hey Gals :goodvibes

Sorry I have so MIA lately! So much to do!!! Nat ended with a massive infection in her left ear and was on antibiotics for 5 days! Our weather has been such a downer this last week - we got 15 more cm (about 7 inches) over last weekend and it is now just starting to melt. I so need spring to hurry up - I am starting to go a little nutso!

My disney trip planning is kinda in a lull right now! I don't want to play around with our plans too much cause then I end up changing things and second guessing myself on a lot of the decisions I made at first! I am slowing starting to develop my "disney bin" tho - I bought the girls a couple of outfits at the childrens place when they were on sale - really cute stuff! I have bought a few "travelling distractions" for our looooong car ride down and we are currently researching DVD players and soft sided coolers (the kind that plug in to the lighter!) I haven't made up my lists YET - but I intend on doing that soon! Every time I fold laundry I think "oh these shirts will be great for the hot florida weather!" :lmao:

I have kind of a weird question for you all - whenever we watch TV shows we always notice that many if not all the characters wear their shoes in and around the house! I am wondering is that just a TV thing or do people actually wear their outdoor shoes into and around the house?? We don't but then again we have such differing weather all year round it would be practically impossible to keep the floors clean! ;)

Hope everyone has a GREAT Easter weekend!

Hey Kim! Sorry Nat's been sick. Paige has a nasty cold/cough that has her up for at least an hour the last few nights. We need SPRING!!! Got a couple inches of snow today - should melt tomorrow though.
I'm glad you posted today - it's a reminder to mail your stuff to you!!

We are generally a no shoes in the house house! Our house would be filthy too! I wear slippers a lot. Paige would be barefoot all the time if she is allowed. No socks, nothing! I think it's just for TV since they are all about the clothes etc. It just completes their oh-so-stylish outfits.
The only people I know who wear shoes in their house are those with foot problems like plantar fascitis.
