We were busy this weekend! My grandparents came up to visit from Virginia and it was wonderful to see them. We also finished the floor and installed all the new doors except for the linen closet. It's on order since it's a smaller door. All that is left to do is the trim and install the flooring on the steps and in the foyer.

I could use some thoughts and prayers too my Snowbird friends. I've been feeling like my heart is all fluttery lately for some reason and the cardiologist wants to check into it a bit more. I am going for some more tests tomorrow to find out more. Say a prayer that it's nothing too serious please!

We are doing ok here. Grandma is home now. She will be using oxygen from here on out, if you can believe it, she hasn't been using it at all. Doctors have informed us that we have, at the very most, 6 months with her.

Again, thanks again everyone for the prayers. The next few months will be long and hard, but we'll get through it. She keeps saying she's ready to go "home". That has been extremely helpful for us to find peace with this.

kim~ I have that every now and again-due to a minor heart murmer,, I have found that taking a CoQ10 pill everyday has greatly reduced the flutters...also, just trying to be more aware of situations that might make me anxious, or upset--some people don't have a significant change when they are in these situations, but for me it can cause my heart to skip, then it flutters. I have felt so much better since taking the supplement-but will keep you in my prayers for sure!! Let me know what they say!

Red...glad that she's home with y'all!! I know her birthday will be a big celebration this year!!!

Thanks Shawna! I had blood work and an echocardiogram done and had to wear a holter monitor for 24 hours. I'm waiting for the blood work to come back and the results from the holter monitor but I'm extremely relieved that the echocardiogram showed nothing structurally wrong with my heart. She suspects a deficiency in potassium and magnesium or something with my thyroid. Both my mom and grandmom have thyroid issues so that's a possibility. The good news is that whatever it is- it's something that should be easily adjusted. Stress is also a big factor she said. She asked if I've been stressed and asked what I did for a living. When I told her I was a daycare provider she just laughed and said "well no wonder you're having heart palpitations!"

I forgot to tell you I have to take Magn some times too! It helps with soooo many things! I researched it for migraines-our body needs it for over 200 'jobs' and most people are deficient and never know it. Glad you got some peace!!

Good morning everyone!

Well for my trip in Jan. we are past the 180 day mark, but haven't made any dining reservations yet. Park hours are posted but we can't find extra magic hours. We are only planning on doing a couple ressies anyway so it shouldn't be a huge deal.

In other news, my grandma was admitted to the hospital last night. She had been having problems breathing, took her to the doctor yesterday then they sent her to the hospital. Doctors feel we are dealing with heart failure/the end here. So our family is just praying for no pain/suffering. We know this is coming, the woman is 98 (her 99 birthday is Aug 4).

I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful weekend!!

I'm really sorry to hear that about your Grandma. 98 is a great life though. I hope the rest of her life goes peacefully.

That's great about the floors. I do hope there's nothing wrong with your heart.

As for me, I'm back stateside again for a few weeks. My Grandpa (Dad's Dad this time) took a turn for the worse (cancer) and they were thinking he only had around 10 days to live last week. He seems to be doing a little better now. I guess having family around has perked him up a bit. They think he'll probably start struggling again once we leave on Monday (most of my family left a few days ago). I'm really glad I got to see him again before he died, even if I probably won't get to be here for the funeral. He even got out of bed and played a game with us for a little while this morning. He definitely hates being bedridden, but unfortunately his strength doesn't match his will most of the time.

In other news, today is my baby's 2nd birthday. It's nice that we get to spend it with family. I'm sure everyone will be spoiling him with cake over the next few days as we get to new locations, which means I get some too! Logan hasn't seen his family in almost 2 years, so we had to work in a visit to them while we're here, even though it's kind of out of the way and we'll likely be back near them in a few months. We still don't have official orders, but everything seems to be leaning towards sending us back to Kansas.

I'm catching up on all the posts here, so forgive me if I don't respond!

It's hard to believe I've been here three weeks as of this upcoming Wednesday and still have 2 more weeks to go. Last week, I went and saw Rupert Grint, who played Ron Weasley in The Harry Potter films, carry the Olympic Torch. That was fun.

The time is flying by. I'm off to Liverpool tomorrow, then to Stockport, then to Doncaster, then back here to Crawley and then home to Canada! *Phew*

I apologize, but I just have to vent to others that will understand. We have some friends that are going to Disney a few weeks before us. They don't do any planning, none at all, and then will be the first to complain about everything that went wrong. Their first trip to Disney was a few years ago and they went to a MVMCP. He complained becuase he was told there is no one in the parks and he had to wait in lines. Really?

Anyway...I digress. So they are going a few weeks before us. They have friends/family that live in Florida that are planning on driving to Disney for a day or so so they can tour the parks with them and spend some time with them. One of them has some physical issues, and apparently the last time they were in disney and they did this, really "slowed us down" (I kid you not, a direct quote). So this year, they are going to have her get a wheel chair to "make it easier on them" and so "we can go to the front of the line at every ride". I had to correct him and say they don't do that. I explained that most of the rides are all wheelchair accessible and there are a few rides that have stairs that you may go through a separate line at that point, but it is not cutting through the line. Plus, this individual can walk, just not at the speed they want them to. They were terribly dissapointed (I'm sure he doesn't believe me). I suggested maybe they rent a car for a day and go to their family/friends. This is not an option to them because they are paying for park tickets, they are going to stay in the parks.

This is the same individual, though, that told me one of his co-workers told him that ifthey're staying on Disney property that Disney will pay for a cab for you to go to US/IOA for the day. Ummm....why would Disney pay for a cab for you to take you off their property and keeping you from spending money at their resort. He didn't believe me on this one, either.

Thanks for listening to my ranting....I just knew this would be a place where everyone would understand. Its reasons like this I really just keep my planning to myself- but they keep asking me questions because they know how much I love to plan. Its so frustrating.

It sounds like you are having a fantastic trip!!! Are you able to see any of the Olympic events?

Those kind of people make me so angry too. I talk to people all the time that have wrong info about Disney and it makes me nuts. This kind of family will never have anything positive to say about Disney.

oohhhh yuck! I hate dealing with people who have their minds made up already like that!! And/or complain but won't let you tell them what to do for a better vacation...I think they just like to be difficult.

I'm usually happy to offer my tips and advice and knowledge to people who are willing to accept it, but with that attitude, it doesn't matter. They will not listen anyway.

There is nothing you can do about people who aren't willing to listen... the good news is YOU will have your trip planned and have a MUCH better time than they will... and when they start complaining after the trip about how they had to wait for this and that... you can say with a smile on you face how wonderful your PLANNED trip was.... and if they don't get it then...oh well....

I agree. The funny thing is their first trip to Disney was 4 years ago - so they wouldn't have been there during this time either. I'm guessing they are getting information from someone who hasn't been there in YEARS and its information that is better sounding than what I have to give, so they're going to believe that. I'm okay with that.....its also why I don't like to travel with others!
