I havent had time to post on here in a few days.. and not much new to say. Poor DD's bday party was a bust. It had been canceled due to hurricane Ike and then rescheduled. Well not realizing it we rescheduled it when there was a festival in town that a lot of people go to, and a Dallas cowboys football game on, so only 1 little girl from school showed up besides our family! She was so upset, and therefore so was I. But she is a smart girl, she tells me "Mom I think next year for my 7th bday we should just go to WDW again", I dont know if budget will allow it but it is a good idea!!

I just finished your PTR. The date pulled me in because DH and I are at WL Dec. 7-14 and I am looking for people to share the wait with.

I'm at 65 days today so that would make you 64.

Your DD is a total cutie pie. Sorry her b-day party wasn't so great. The Cowboys game was a bust too so those people had no reason to miss.

DH and I don't have kids but I am a Junior Girl Scout leader. I am also Service Unit Manager and I mentor new leaders so let me know if you have questions or need help. I have some GREAT links I can send to you. The important thing to remember as a leader is to REQUIRE parental help. My girls are now 5th and 6th graders and I've had them for 5 years. The parents have been required to participate all along and it makes things so much smoother!

Thanks for joining me!! I am so ready for December to be here. I may take you up on links for girl scouts. We had our 2nd meeting this week and it went pretty good. My co-leader seems to be a little flaky, she tries hard but needs direction on what needs to be done it seems. Of our 10 girls (well 1 we arent sure of, she didnt show at 2nd meeting, dont know if they forgot or changed mind) Of the 9 I know for sure, 1 is mine, 1 is co-leaders so that leaves 7, I have at least 4 other moms who seem like they are going to be a great help. So it seems like it is going to be pretty good. The girls are just so silly at 5 and 6 years old it is hard to keep their attention sometimes. And we are trying to do it on the cheap until we do fall sales and make some $$$$.

Well 1 small change in the plans. My MIL had an on the job injury earlier this year. Originally it seemed like if she stayed off of her knee for a while all would be well. Well now it seems like she has a torn meniscus (? spelling!!), and is going to need surgery. Of course with it being an on the job injury nothing is happening quickly. We are getting to crunch time and she realizes that she isnt going to be able to walk so she canceled and has me seeing if she can use airfare as it is non-refundable to go to Vegas, as there she doesnt have to walk, just sit at a machine... So it will be just My,DH, DD, SIL, BIL, and nephew.
Not sure if I need to call and change ADR's as some are for a party of 8 and now need to be just 6?? Any ideas, I dont have ADR numbers today anyway so it will be at least tommorow before I could do it.

sorry to hear about the injury. i have 2 repaired ankles at 25 so i know how not being able to get around can kill a vacation but her option of vegas instead cracks me up!

I'm in the same boat as your MIL. I injured my knee last November, had surgery back in March and am still dealing with slow recovery issues. We booked our trip back when the doctor was "sure" I would be well by the time of the trip.

Well, I'm not well. I have to use a cane to walk, I can't stand for long periods of time and I can't walk more than about 1/4 mile without serious pain. My knee cap dislocates itself two to three times a day and my knee looks like a soccer ball by the end of the day.

I finally had to come to grips with the whole thing and just book a scooter. I'd be miserable otherwise. I feel for MIL.

We thought about the scooter, but dont really think MIL would enjoy her vacation using that. She is more of a vegas nut than a disney nut anyway, but was coming along for the grandkids! She of course would do anything for them. She has another dr appt tommorow, so we will see what that brings??
On another note, I got my "October Disney Hello" email, and those make your own ears look so cool!! My DD and I have to have some!!! If you havent seen them go check it out!

Every month I get a Disney Hello email, I dont really know what I signed up for that I get them?? but they always have disney info in them. This one talked about the celebration next year and it talked about the "Make your own ears" at the "Chapeau" on main street. They looked very cool, you can find it on the WDW website.

You and me both! Being this close is great, but oh so torturous!!! Is it sad that I keep getting happy over seeing so many Christmas things out in the stores? Normally, I would think, "Are you kidding? It's early October!" But with WDW on the horizon, all I can think is, "Yeah! Winter! Christmas! December! Walt Disney World!" Imagine if I shouted all of that in the middle of those stores? Man, how I'm losing it.

As for your MIL's situation, keep us posted. If it works out that she definitely can't join you, I would see if the ressies can be changed easily. If they can't, then just hang on to them. You can always tell the CM on the phone that a couple of people were thinking of not coming, and you were just interested in seeing the availability for those places. On the other hand, I don't think it would be such a big deal to leave things alone. You didn't know this was going to happen, and it would be horrible to lose ressies you really wanted. Like I said, keep us posted.

I think I am going to leave them alone for now. I may call and see if I can get a few at different times for a party of 6 instead, we will see. She has decided she is definitely not going. If she doenst get surgery before then she is in pain, is she does she will still be recovering. So she has decided for her and my FIL to go to Vegas instead, since she can just sit at a slot machine if her knee is acting up. We are sad she cant go, but dont want her to go and try to push herself too hard, and she would.

On the other hand....8 Weeks from today we will be on our way to WDW!!
