Snow White Scary adv.

How scary is this ride for a 4 3/4 old girl? She is not sure she wants to go on! When I went on this ride in the 70's it had a lot of the witch popping up. Did they make any changes in the past 30 yrs?

I didn't take my kids on it in Orlando (they were 5 and 2 then).

In February DH and I rode it alone at DL and we were glad we didn't try it with the kids. I thought it would have been too scary for them.

Maybe other parents of little girls ( I only have boys) can help you, but I know last trip I was determined to go, so at least I could see the "Evil Queen" somehow.... even if only a cutout form.

My DS 23 and friend thought it was too young for their taste, but had gone on PeterPan and Dumbo just 30 minutes earlier...(only to humor me)

They decided to pass, asked my DS (then 9) to go, he refused, he had heard for years (when we make our plans-that some kids don't like it due to being scared), he went with older boys.

So, I , as a 39 year old, went and rode by myself. Of course, I wasn't scared, but could see how it might upset younger folks.
Only you and yours will know what she "may" be able to handle or not.

I know not much help, but I'll bet my 9 year old son didn't do it because he heard it may scare younger guests.

See if there is some type of swap, ride yourself or have other parent ride, decide at that time.

It completely scared my daughter, she was 6 at the time. I had heard on here that it was scarey, but thought it couldn't be *that bad Well, I was wrong! She wanted out of the ride immediately! I was able to coax her into just hiding her face against me. I'm sure it'll be a long time before she ever goes on that one again! lol

It's pretty scary, and I would avoid it. We're going this summer, but my kids won't be riding it because I fear that if the youngest (she's almost 4) gets freaked out on it, then we'll be done for the rest of the trip.

I rode it without kids and was surprised at how scary it was, which is a shame because lots of kids like Snow White and would enjoy a pleasant ride based on that movie. The evil queen/witch is there a lot, it's dark, I wouldn't recommend it.

I agree with the other posters. We skipped it with my DS 2.5 and DS 15 mths when we went in October. I enjoy the ride, but it can be very scary for children. It's predominantly the witch, and it is very dark overall.

This is good advice. My DD (3 at the time)was freaked out by ITTBAB at AK when we went and never really recovered the rest of the week. If the kids say they are scared believe them and child swap or just skip it. It's not worth ruining the trip for the little ones.

My 3yo hid her head on all of the dark rides. I honestly don't remember the witch being very scary. It did not scare my 6yo DD.

My 4 1/2 yr old DD is scared of almost everything. We've been to Disney many times, and we've always avoided this ride. In December, she saw it and wanted to go on it. We tried to talk her out of it. She was not scared at all. We're going again in May, and I asked her last night what ride she wanted to do the most when we go back-She immediately said, "Snow White". I guess it just depends on the child. I was surprised that she wasn't scared due to everyone's reactions, but we found that it was not too much for her. (BTW, she was scared of PhilHarmagic. )

DH and i have no kids- we have been on the ride numerous times- however, in dec we took our 4yr old niece and it really opened my eyes as to how creepy this ride is!

is all dark and gloomy and depressing and the witch is around every turn.....not a good ride for the little ones--- finally at the end-- its all like....yay theres snow white and shes all happy, but you are still disturbed from what you saw!

Last time we went my daughter was 2 and she wasn't scared of the ride at all. I personally don't see it as scary but I guess I am the minority on that.

If you have 2 adults with you one of you could try it and see what you think about it before you let your daughter on it.

My 5 yr old didn't think it was scary of course I never even thought to tell him it might be so he went in with no preconceived ideas and just enjoyed the ride. In fact I don't even remember any reaction.

A friend of mine took her 4 and 2 year old DD's on this ride. It was the first ride they went on and it was also the last ride they went on. The girls would not go on any other ride the whole day (they were only there one day). I'd recommend skipping it.

My dd was three during our last trip, and she was really scared by this ride. She kept her face hidden the entire time, and wouldn't go on it again. She's 5 now, and we're planning our October trip. She's still trying to decide whether or not she'll go on it. It still sticks in her mind as a scary ride. I know she wants to go on it, in theory. She will watch the movie, but I guess there's something about seeing that wicked hag pop up in front of you.

On our last trip In October the kids (DD5 DS2) loved it. We watched the movie at home ahead of time and told them the witch was going to try and scare us. We made a game out of it it was our job to find the witch before she could see us. Honestly my DS loved it. During MNSSHP we rode it 3 times. My kids are pretty tough though, they also liked It's tough to Be a Bug.

My DD(3) has been going on this ride since she turned 2...she is always scared...but she always INSISTS we go on it. SHe doesn't even call it Snow White (even though she knows all about Snow White), she calls it the scary witch ride. She doesn't hide her head but white-knuckles the safetly bar the whole time. When we get out...she is perfectly happy. I guess she likes getting scared?!

I agree with previous posters that this ride is dark and scary. I went on alone first, then decided not to bring DD4 on this ride because I know how she is.

I recommend going on alone and making an assessment before hand. You know your kid the best.

Yep I agree. My mom and I rode it last time while dh took dd on Dumbo. I could definitely see how it would be too much. There was a little girl about 4 in front of us and she was terrified, cried the entire time.

My DD3 is obsessed with Snow White. She thinks she is Snow White. We rode it twice in September - the second time she held her hands over her eyes the entire time. Now she says she wont ride it again. It's pretty funny. She says, "Snow White is Scarey!" She didn't exactly get freaked out or anything - no crying and screaming to get off. She just doesn't want to ride it anymore. Now the Haunted Mansion doesn't bother her!

Is this ride still at Disney? We went on the ride when we were there in 2003 and my DS3 and DD4 were both fine being right with us. I looked at the map of Magic Kingdom in the pamphlet that AAA sent us and I didn't see the ride listed anymore. I don't believe it is listed on the Disney Website anymore either. If anyone knows for sure if it is still there please say so. I think it is a shame to get rid of another one of the classics.
