Snow to 80 in 8 days–A spoonful of Holiday Cheer (2/5 update Ch 36 - Final Thoughts)

I know only one other "Marv".... and here is my "You know you are from a small town when..." story. One of my good friends, and bridesmaid, has an older half-brother named Marvin. Marvin graduated high school with my husband. Marvin also was married to my husband's first wife. So yes, my husband's ex-wife's husband's sister was in our wedding

You, however, are my favorite "Marv" :flower3: the other one is now ex-husband #2 for DH's ex

Phew I am confused !!I think it must be the name Marvin!!!!;):lmao:

Weeeell, you Could look at it that way  or you could look at it as you have single handedly redeemed the name of Marvin. Now when I hear that name I think of you :) instead of him
I hear you! (but I'm still skeptical....)
Ohh...I could add a lot of twists and turns to small town living. What is funny is my husband's family is kind of big - or at least it seems that way since they all still live right around here. And a lot of them have been married more than once  so my kids have gotten into the habit of just asking "are we related to them" whenever they come across someone new. Unfortunately, more often than not, through marriages, divorces, and re-marriages, we can make a connection to a whole bunch of people.

Add to that, my family has lived in the same school district forever, and it is a rural area with a lot of farm families, you see the same family names for generations. Mark's date to prom his Jr. year was a girl in his graduating class, her mother was in my graduating class, and her grandfather was in my mother's graduating class... <insert IASW theme music here :rolleyes1>
I grew up in a small town area also, so I can certainly relate to all of that!
In that case, I'm glad you didn't vacation in Nantucket.
do you think he'd forget his bucket?
As for the bucket, Nantucket.
It took a second, but........ :rotfl:

Actually Liesa, now that Glenn's Candi shrine has taken on epic (warehouse) proportions...............

Glenn can no longer transport it by car, he has to Truck It!
Phew I am confused !!I think it must be the name Marvin!!!!;):lmao:
Okay Rosie, I haven't actually given out any NEGATIVE bonus points yet, but you're pushing it........

But I know you're nervous
1sm120fear.gif
, 'cause you see me gaining on you.
well im not nervous enough to be constipated.

as your smiley would indicate.

Ah well, I guess that's my punishment for being so absent on the DIS. Only two points! :sad1: I had the feeling that I made a wrong assumption at the beginning and then stubbornly stuck to it. That did cost me some easy points.

Will try my best with the next one, especially since the competition is closing in on me!! Wow, Kathy did really well!! Congratulations. :thumbsup2

I really like your DHS morning. I would guess that on the next trip your routine will be different, Star Tours FPs will be a priority. I have heard that there are 54 variations of the story you can get (and 6 main destinations). So it has lots of rerideability. I am getting very excited about trying it out in October!!

Man, that hotel looks really shabby. I bet they don't even offer a continental breakfast.
Yeah, that place could use soooo many updates!!! :rotfl2:

Hey Magdalene, been missing chatting with you! Either I have been busy or you have. :sad2: We both need to work on that! Which reminds me, I need to get over to your thread and get all caught up!!! :goodvibes

I can't wait to ride Star Tours when we go back. I'm also anxious to see the impact on crowds since it has reopened. I have read a few reports and actually it doesn't appear the lines are too long. Someone said they had a 20 minute wait but that was because Indiana Jones and Jedi Training Academy had both just let out.

Sounds about like it has always been, so may not need to focus on those FPs. I was hoping it would take some of the crush off of the early morning TSMM dash. Of course, with all those variations it sounds like a really great upgrade  and maybe it will just take some time for the word to spread how good it is now. Hopefully that won't happen before we make it back!

Hope all is well with your DH. I have to keep reminding my oldest son (the one that is of legal drinking age :rolleyes1) to take care of his. He is a major drama-queen and I can't imagine him having to go through all that I did. Just yesterday he was whining about how miserable it was to have to go get a TB test. :sad2:

He is well - thanks though! He has to take two blood pressure pills and a few others and see the nephrologist/get bloodwork to check his protein yearly but that is it for now.

Well, I'm tired of hearing everyone give me a hard time about getting this TR completed before we head out for our next trip, so I have a couple of options to keep that from happening. I can either speed this thing up, foregoing any additional Contest that slows things down (my story and I'm sticking to it), OR........I can just cancel my trip and try to go later after I get done with the TR. :confused3 Sooooooo, I've decided to go with the latter!!! :thumbsup2

Actually, two days ago we were having problems with our upstairs A/C where the boy's rooms are. It was starting to get very hot up there and we called to have it checked. Turns out it was terminal. Well, at least the compressor was completely shot, and even just replacing that wouldn't guarantee everything would be working correctly. We had to replace the downstairs unit last year and we knew it wouldn't be long before we had to do the same with this one so after considering all our options we decided to go ahead and do a full replacement on the second unit.

Being a contractor and only getting paid when I'm at work it would be better not to lose a 40 hour week of pay right now on top of the $$ for the new A/C so I have once again postponed our vacation for a few weeks. We will now be going on our trip the end of July through the first week of August, and we are once again going to be staying at OKW. I guess the good thing is as hot as it already is, it probably won't be any worse from a heat standpoint, but like Glenn this is going to be another very MOIST trip to Disney.:headache:

Of course now there is at least one DISmeet I'll be able to make after all...... :yay:

Gee, and I thought you could take a little digging at you. ;)

Sorry about postponing the trip yet again. I hear you on the air conditioner. We've decided not to do anything about ours this year...we're going to just use all the ceiling fans and buy a couple of box fans (just don't have $3-4 grand laying around.

So, when will the next contest be up?

Not me! You know I'm a sensitive guy.........

Not so bad changing the trip. Back in OKW now, and I'm trying for that elusive ressie for the first two nights at CSR or maybe at the Poly!

Not actually sure what to do with the Contests. Was working on pictures last night and this morning so I could get them uploaded to PB and realized just how many I have, and just how many Updates it is going to take to get this sucker finished up! I might just start pumping out the different sets of contest questions and people just need to have their answers in before I get to that update. That way I don't have to wait for a few days after posting each contest before I can do the next update.

Will have at least the next set of questions up hopefully tomorrow, or at least by Sunday! :thumbsup2

That is too bad about the air conditioner. Unexpected expenses are no fun! At least the trip is just moved and not cancelled!

So sorry about your ac. What a terrible time for it to go out. I'm glad you don't have to cancel, just postpone. We're being hit with the added expense of a new roof, but at least insurance will take care of most of it.

Since I missed the last set of questions I'm ready for a new round. I vote for posting them as you go.

Sorry to hear this trip was moved again. If you keep moving it back we can just meet up in Disney!

I totally understand the A/C thing. I try not to think about it until it cools down but ours is overdue for a check up. I am doing this until I can get that done.
