We did the hidden trails for the tree of life for the first time in January and it is amazing! We were by ourselves back there too and getting to see all of the carved detail up close is really neat!

Love the Christmas trees! I did not know they did that!

Don't think I did too well on the contest - oh well there are always rounds ten and eleven!

I think the two trees that you couldn't figure out were the Country Bears for the first one, they play on washboards and moonshine jugs in their band. And the second one might be the Br'ers . Im not too sure about that one - it looks like the bear ornaments are polar bears so that wouldn't make a lot of sense. But I don't know where polar bears, bird houses and lanterns come together.


I don't know if we have ever been on that hidden trail or not. Danny has explored a lot of the animal trails around there, but I don't remember him having tree pictures as good as those. And I sure don't remember ever seeing the Everest Temple. AK is the park we spend the least amount of time at - I skip it all together on our short trips. It looks like I will need to spend more time exploring it this year.

Shorts! Half the time I forget you are there during winter (as I sit here sweating in the house while I read this) so I didn't think about that as a possibility.

Ah...Brother Bear - that makes sense. I think Ive only seen it once and it didn't come to mind. All I could think of with the lanterns was Big Thunder Mountain - but they don't have characters....

so I walked over to the entrance and turned around to get a picture of the other end of the trail for future reference.

The other entrance to the trail is on the right, between the two kiosks. I would highly recommend you seek it out and enjoy it sometime.

my answer to that question was, he stepped foot in a disney park for the first time in 2011...which is correct on every level, but we will see if i got credit for it.

Hi Marv,

I got a minute or two to read the latest updates and loved them! The temple lined up was one of my favorites I got on my trip too- as were the pix from the TOL trail- as you say, WELL worth seeking out and spending some time on.

Unfortunately, I'm not getting any pix to download right now, so I'll have to check back in a bit to see if my internet is any better. Wish I could see the trees..
