Snow to 80 in 8 days–A spoonful of Holiday Cheer (2/5 update Ch 36 - Final Thoughts)

Your dinner looked fabulous - that will make my list when we next have DDP. I think the kids are resisting for our Grand Gathering in 2013. They don't want ADRs - they just want rides!:thumbsup2

I see I am a little bit right so far. The boys did finish the mission, and they did make it right on time - love the OJ reference! (not that we are showing our age or anything:rotfl2:) As for the tiramisu, Rosie has made a good point - I should get a half point for that, I think.

**May I say what a wonderful job the rules committee is doing do far?***

I am puting aside comments made by Marv about MOI!!!! That need defending cuz I have some interesting and exciting news !!! First let me ask you "how often does the State mmake a rule that causes EXTREME delight to some people !! Well they have deemed BED CANES a safety hazard and instead are you ready ....... Drum Roll , they are having POLES installed:cloud9::banana: Yes Rosie will have a POLE at work very soon !!:cloud9::hug::love::banana:! :scared1: I thought the object was to help these people get better??? Or are they thinking that the minute Rosie starts her pole dance they will jump up OUT of their bed, scream "I'm cured" and head for the exit???

Dan, sounds like new Bulletin Board material for work! We expect to see the pictures........ :rotfl2:

Now, I've read it twice, and realized that I will be lucky to only get one answer- the merlot! yay. Oh and maybe that the boys were on time.

Anyway, I love that the waiter made a professional, yet friendly, impression on you. I really believe that the service is so much a part of a great meal!

Everything looked great- except the lack of spaghetti. Dang! That surprised me. It also surprised me you didn't order wine. I didn't know you didn't care for it. Who'da thunk!

Anyway, lovely update. I haven't eaten in the Italy Pav. since 2000; maybe it's time to give it another shot. :confused3

Oh, I meant that I am planning to review Biergarten in the fall - but my review would be too late for your trip. :goodvibes

But as a consolation prize and because I know that this is the recipe thread, all this tiramisu discussion made me think of this recipe:

Ten-Minute Trifle (from Nigel Slater, Real Fast Food)

This is the dessert I am asked to bring to any potluck-party I am invited to. It is kind of based on the idea of a tiramisu, but three times better!

10 sponge fingers
8 oz chilled sweet wine (I use sweet sherry)
4 oz raspberries (frozen are fine)
2 bananas, cut in slices
2 eggs, seperated
2 oz sugar
8 oz Mascarpone cheese
a little vanilla extract

put the sponge fingers in a 2-pint dish, pour over the wine and gently press the sponge fingers into the wine. Put raspberries on top of sponge fingers and then lay the banana slices on top.

Cream the egg yolks with the sugar, add the mascarpone and beat until light and creamy. Add the vanilla extract and mix under. In a seperate bowl whisk the egg whites untill they are stiff and then fold gently under the mascarpone mixture. Put the cream mixture as a top layer over the bananas in the form.

Put in the fridge and let it rest for some time (at least 15 minutes). I sometimes top it with roasted almond slices.

Thanks for the Pm about the contest! Unfortunately, I was too busy studying for an exam to take part in it. Next one for sure!!

Great reviews of Tutto Italia! I've never considered eating here, but now I really am.

John Henry sounds like a great server. Nothing makes a meal better than great service.

Mmmm, all the food looks so good! Great pictures! The veal looks especially appetizing.

Did the tiramisu have alcohol in it? Did you feel the chocolate torte's were too sweet?

Would you eat here OOP?

Luckily mine like both.....at least until the bill comes!

You might be, but I'm trying to keep mine hidden.....:rolleyes1

Still a few answers left to be determined...... You might have done better than you think.

It was one of the best meals of the trip!

Yes, and I'm going to be eating there in June, so I will probably be trying to do a food review before your trip. Not sure it will help you though, because I will be reviewing the food from an American perspective and you will still be judging it from a more "authentic" perspective..... :confused3

That's the way I would do it!!! :goodvibes

Great reviews of Tutto Italia! I've never considered eating here, but now I really am. I would highly recommend it!

John Henry sounds like a great server. Nothing makes a meal better than great service. As my Canadian friends would say....:thumbsup2

Mmmm, all the food looks so good! Great pictures! The veal looks especially appetizing. Matthew really enjoyed it!

Did the tiramisu have alcohol in it? Did you feel the chocolate torte's were too sweet? You know, I didn't notice if it had alcohol or not! The torte I had was very light and the hazelnut creme in the middle went well with the chocolate taste.

Would you eat here OOP?
Absolutely! I might pick a night when the boys were doing something else and it was just DW and I though......:rotfl:

Finally caught up...and the meal looks terrific. Pork chop stuffed with cheese and ham? That just sounds awesome.

Great meal!:thumbsup2 The pork chop meal sound fabulous. This is another place I need to try. We ate there when it was Alfredo's but haven't been back since 2006. Of course the deserts looked really good.

This was our first time eating at any of the restaurants in Italy! I'm just not typically thinking Italian food when I'm at Disney since we eat a lot of Italian food when we're at home, but I wanted to try some new places this trip we hadn't done before. I'm pretty sure we'll be back..... :goodvibes

That's a WHOLE other game than the original one that was so brilliantly created! I guess that's what happens when rank amateurs take over....... :confused3

It's like I've known you forever!! :) (or at least someone JUST like you!) :rolleyes1
