The margaritas sound delish!
That hallway is LONG
That was one of MANY LOOOOOOOOONG Hallways!!!

I didn't keep track of the # of steps like WigD but it was long!
Looks like a fun evening! I agree... San Angel has a great atmosphere, the margaritas are yummy (and kinda strong!) and the food has definitely improved! I'd definitely go back.
Still can't believe you are leaving for your cruise on Wed, you lucky duck!
It was a great fun evening! AND yes they are strong! We split that third one and well, we were very warm when we got back outside!!!
YES I agree food is very tasty more TEX-MEX, maybe.... kinda reminds me a little of Santa Fe inspired food, but the plantains threw me for a loop! But very tasty..... we poked our nose in the tequila bar! It looked fun! I remember you did a tasting...
Oh my goodness, can't believe your spur of the moment trip...so awesome. I came back to the trip reports looking for one I was reading Friday, and recognized your user name and clicked on it in a few pages, and saw pictures of the boys and knew I recognized those boys from the TR I had been reading, but this was not right something was wrong. Yeah, I'd been reading your Christmas trip and now you've already went again WOW. So lucky. Can't wait to hear more. Your boys are so cute too! I told DH about your spur of the moment trip, and all of the snow and he said he would've stayed for the snow. Of course, he wouldn't have a choice in it since this is busy time for him at work with a wrecking company.
Funny! It is somewhat dizzying when you go from one person's report to another! Let alone when it is two for the same person!!!! HA! Yes, two trips! Well we would have stayed for the snow, and we did the FIRST time

But after that, we wanted OUT!!
Did you happen to count how many steps it was to your room?
Sounds like San Angel was a winner! Can't wait to try it this summer!
I think the puffy "chips" sound interesting!
I can't believe how close you are to that cruise! Woo hoo!
NO, I am afraid I was too busy tearing after two little men with short legs!
San Angel was good! We liked it! I dunno, maybe it was what we decided on, but we were not disappointed. The puffy chips are fried flour tortilla strips I guess, they are a little odd, I prefer the regular corn kind. Still, hardly a deal breaker!!
Yeah, I can't believe it either!!!! I packed some today!
Bet it wasn't 460!
Glad you enjoyed your dinner, I don't think I'll ever be brave enough to try San Angel, but being in that atmosphere is tempting!
NO not 460!!!
Well, you know it would be a great place to take a break from summer heat for an appetizer and drinks??!! It is more tex-mex, maybe - or more like the mexican food I remember when we were in Puerto Vallarta... so maybe it is targeting a region. Not sure.
Yeay another update! I must admit that I am liking the back-to-back trips because we are getting so many updates beforehand.
I know!! Isn't it funny!!!??? I think WigD is feeling the pressure of spring break, because she too is busy posting away this weekend!!!!
Oh yes, it works brilliantly!!! Sadly I am afraid I will be forgoing the double Maclaren come summer... it is shameful that we kept it this year for our oldest, but I have to admit I felt safer knowing where he was and in crowds it was a godsend! BUT this trip we only used it twice, and we footed it everywhere else, and it was fine. The little one complained the most about walking, so we have a single we will bring this summer.
Hmmm, the book nut in me wants to know what books the boys were looking at!
San Angel sounds lovely! I could use one of those awesome margaritas right about now! I will have to go look at a menu -- I am kind of bummed that the counter service is going to be closed this summer for a rehab -- we always eat there -- but I am thinking San Angel could fill in. I wonder if they have any items with mole sauce on the menu...
The book was about Dios De las Muertos... (Think I got that right -- I had to go back in my post and correct all of my double "LL's" that were wrong so I am not the best speller in Spanish!!!! )

There was also a book that had all the pictures of the hand-painted animal figurines that they do in the pavillion lobby -- we have four at home already that I bought when we lived in New Mexico, I can't recall what the painting technique is called but the figurines..
There is a Mole dish, yes! The poblano chile relleno I had also included a mole-tasting sauce on top, I thought this was a great item on the menu... They have beefed up the booth that they have outside the pavillion just and FYI, and I think they have some good QS items still... we too are a great fan of the QS cantina! The margarita stand is still there!
